  1. i think the majority of us are stronger than we know we have failed so many (diets) in the past so why wouldnt we (fail) this also my dr told me this pre op was to shrink my liver.....he told me how he did a surgery on a lady who did not follow his instructions and he couldnt operate...i could not fathom that happening to me.....and hence i did not (cheat)...i was too scared too..doesnt mean i didnt want to i figured id come this far and i told myself if i was able to get the surgery, id do whatever i had to to make it work.....just know you can do it..i believe that....you gotta walk through the darkness before you stand in the light..
  2. yes i had that also..only hurt when i tried to take deep breaths..i was on liquids 2 weeks after surgery..very much like you..it will get easier every day..
  3. i use those from walmart myself (the chocolate flavor)
  4. everyone is different...some lose faster than others and you are full on a small amount as you are still swollen inside...as it subsides, you will be able to drink more and gradually eat more...just keep following your doctors instructions.
  5. you sound like a lot going on i would personally consult with your doctor as soon as you can sneezing could mean allergies port is sore as mine was for about a month so this seems normal my left shoulder hurts sometimes usually if i eat too fast please dont think you made a mistake as you have something inside to help you eat less but this was this was major surgery and your body must heal..
  6. if anyone has xlarge skirts, please pm and let me know and if you have xlarge (sweaters for office wear) please also let me know thanks for reading
  7. i agree with all the above........but i wish i would have not read/or let negative people get to me and make me worry......but i am kinda glad i had the chance to have that happen as it made me ask my dr all the (horror) stories or things that people write (like cheating is ok etc) and get his opinion...and getting his opinion and using common sense has got me where i am today.
  8. your getting hungry because your swelling is going down...you need to sip as much as you can (including your protein shakes) at this time...the first 4 to 6 weeks is for healing and not be overly concerned about losing weight and such.... your dr gave you instructions on what to drink and for how long, try to stick to it the best you can...any questions, its best too call and ask them as they may not want you to do what mine suggested.
  9. as you can see, everyone has different options/ideas i did not want to be left out, so here is mine i eat lean Protein, veggies/fruit and drink alot--i also eat when hungry and in my allotted amount..i try not to over think it..as since i am not (dieting) i am just choosing to eat better food and make better choices. missy and tmf was right in saying meeting with a nutritionist would be extremely helpful but just do what works for you...
  10. i agree with tod and tiny...men would do something like that dinner without a thought in the world..me and my ole man been married 28+yrs, i dont have to go with him everywhere and vice versa...it doesnt seem to be that big of a deal, not to me...so he went out to dinner without you, so what......thats when you call your girlfriends and go out with them and ask and mean it when you say, did you have a good time when you see him..... you sound like a very nice gal and super sweet, remain that way and he will realize, gosh she is pretty nice and i bet next time, he will ask you to go along........if your a b**tch about it maybe not.
  11. take a pregnancy test and find out if you are or not that way you can rest your mind in regards to that
  12. like kll, if you are taking n liquids, liquids out that was the case for me...my dr okay'd me to have immodium a.d to help aid with this and he also started me on a probiotic to help regulate me....i would say stay hydrated esp if you are going alot...you must not get dehydrated....i still have a change of clothes at work just in case. it will get better although it doesnt seem like it right now.
  13. you are never alone ......me and others are right here for ya..just gimme a shout hang in there okay sweetie
  14. if you are losing inches, you are (losing)...regardless of what the scale says or doesnt say--its def a good thing
  15. liquids in and liquids out my dr ok'd me to be on immodium a d as i had the runs bad like you i at 10 months post op keep a change of clothes at work just in case stay hydrated because you are going #2 so much as its important.. i also started taking a probiotic to help even keel my insides... but ask your dr if its okay to do those 2 things. hang in there but stay hydrated
  16. my dr put (primer) in but no idea how much and wont until i have my first fill
  17. well it is major surgery and they cut you open and stuff so its gonna hurt...and if they did a hernia repair (as they did me) it hurts to take deep breaths......but it does get better as each day that passes..def agree with kathy about keeping your liquids up....sip and sip and sip some more.....but like hel, if you are dizzy or overly concerned, absolutely call your dr and let them know what is going on.....just hearing a nurse and or dr say (its gonna be okay) is a relief sometimes. hang in there.
  18. heck, as good as i am feeling, everyday can be my birthday!! its a state of mind---as is being positive and happy.. def agree with this post and i did laff at out loud when you mentioned diet pills.. if you feel good-----outstanding if you look good----outstanding if you got me a friend, count on me being there for ya
  19. (pain and swelling is completely normal) but if it hurts as bad as you are saying call the dr to be safe and give you a piece of mind.
  20. didnt your dr or nutritionist give you pre and post instructions?
  21. this whole forum is your friend/buddy.......and why on earth would you think you are doing something wrong?
  22. well whatever happened, am sorry but hope you are feeling/doing better
  23. for me it was (ff refried beans, ff shredded cheese and I added ff salsa (all mixed in my vitamixer to make smooth).....I lived on this on my post op mush stage..heck what am I saying, I like it now. (but no more mushed)
  24. I think what you wrote makes sense. all the (past) failures are close and we remember...so what makes us think we can succeed this time...how I see it........just keep going I guess.....everytime I see someone say how do I survive bandster hell or the liquid pre or post op, I just wanna say by keep on going
  25. I am trying to as best I can as I am responsible. but I do give ALOT to my ole man for all he does for me and WITH me....I would have a lonely road w/o him (and my lap band friends I made on this forum)
