  1. sharon, did you post this for me today? i think you did. anyhow, i appreciate it...much LOVE GF
  2. i agree with all posters. let me add i am about 5'2 on a good day and was at 336 when i got banded... it was no fun being as wide as i was tall...sure i was scared and all of that...but it was either do something about it (or risk getting bigger) which is most likely what i would have done.. its not a easy fix. you must change your life. from one extreme to the other pretty much. you must want to truly lose weight enough to actually do it. no excuses, no drama, no whining and let the band (or whatever WLS) do its job. you will hear good and bad. each person will have a different take. i can spend all day telling you how much better my life is now (10 months post op) but it means nothing unless you want to do this for real and understand it is not a overnight fix. best of luck to whatever you decide.

  10. what does it look like or say? I have heard of them...I filled out paperwork for it but never got it.....I think the boogy man took mine
  11. I asked my dr this just yesterday, he said he would know under a fluro xray.
  12. if I get a new one I shall tell ole man you made me do it dangumit
  13. dang now i gotta go see what the dahlia cuff is.........
  14. i know......i looked again yesterday and went, oh i like that one....and that one....was hard to do.......def need a new one as now my wrist is way smaller....hey i may just talk myself into i yet..
  15. i used (and still drink one each morning) whey extreme protein (in chocolate) from walmart. 28 grams protein per scoop.....its delish and only 14.95 per container..my dr approved it..it helps to find one you really like. i tried them all and some were just nasty. congrats on your surgery BTW.
  16. i had my GB out in 2004 and my signs where in between my shoulder blades and it hurt something fierce...sharp/stabbing pains...after the 3rd trip to the ER, they finally xrayed me and found a whole bunch of stones......had emergency surgery shortly thereafter. 2 funny things..my hub told them on that last visit, you are keeping her (me) til you fix her...yeah he said it.....and that same week, my bulldog had her gallbladder removed too for gallstones.....we had 2 jars with hers and mine in them for awhile. so yeah, it hurts and its painful. my dr said i got mine as i lost about 50 pounds quick that year and hence the buildup. hope you feel better.
  17. www.laurenshope.com they have all kinds, all prices and you can design your own which is what i did.
  18. i do not have a fill and i am losing weight. i am proof you do NOT need a fill to lose weight. if you are not losing weight, you are not eating properly. you can eat 1/2 cup but if its cheap slider foods/high fat etc, its not helping...you need to be eating protein filled and filling foods, veggies and fruit and drinking ALOT. i have followed you since you were banded and i know you teach and i know you have kids...but you got to do this for YOU> the band will NOT make you not hungry or stop cravings. it is there to help you eat less. that is all...it will help you stay full longer.....and if you eat filling protein foods, you will be (satisfied). its a matter of want power. if you want to lose weight, then do it. dont wait for a doctor or a doctors visit it do it. and when you get into the dr, then get that fill but until then, make it happen.
  19. back in the 90s, i joined a TOPS (take off pound sensibly WL support group--like WW but cheaper) and i met this gal named tracy. i loved her to pieces. she was alittle younger than me and a bit bigger but we decided we would do this together. so we called daily, did our food charts and walked when we could. well about 3 months later i had lost about 25 pounds and she was about 10 i think and she called me one day and said i cant be your friend no more (true story i swear) and i said why. she said because you are losing weight and i am not and i dont wanna hear it. oh yeah, it hurt and it still does. i had never had that happen. but you know what...it is what it is. we can not control other people's thoughts/actions etc..that is them and that is you. you continue being you and getting healthy. if she wants to call you, she will. and if she doesnt, then she lost out on a very nice and sweet person.
  20. atta girl.......that was me also..scared out of my mind, people telling me all sorts of things good and bad and i was a deer in the head lights.....WTF you know......the point is you wont know until you do it...i can sit here and say its a piece of cake and on but each person will be different...some lose fast, some slow, some not at all......you lose for you..... yes good and bad happen but what if it doesnt and you get well??? def seems worth it to me hang in there
  21. no need to be...any surgery, dentist visit and even pedicures can have complications things happen..good and bad...sometimes its a risk worth taking.. 10 moths ago i could hardly walk and today i am walking with no problem i am glad i took that risk.......and if something happens, i will deal with it with my dr. the band and any wls can and does save lives........remaining fat/obese is not a way to live.
