Healthy Weight Loss?

I weighed as soon as I got home from the hospital 3 days ago and it was 359.2. I've weighed everyday since then and this morning it was 346.1. I'm weighing every morning when I wake up at about the same time. I'm on a clear liquid diet for two weeks since I had a hernia that the doctor needed to fix. I'm full most of the time after a couple of ounces of liquids. I was just wondering if this much weight lose in that short of time was normal?

  • It's probably normal, just be sure you're staying hydrated and follow your doctor's instructions. You can always call the office just to be certain. Good luck to you!

  • On clear liquids probably it is OK. When can you add full liquids and protein?

  • 90% of the weight you're losing right now is your body shedding excess fluids so no harm in that.

everyone is different...some lose faster than others

and you are full on a small amount as you are still swollen inside...as it subsides, you will be able to drink more and gradually eat more...just keep following your doctors instructions.

The doctor said I can go to full liquids after two weeks. I had a hyenal (spelling?) hernia he had to fix. He said I would be more sore for longer than usual. Thanks for the info.
