  1. One week back to summer sleeping, it was like heaven!!
  2. My total out of pocket was $400 for psychologist, $300 fee at bariatric office, $772 to doc for surgery & $2294 to hospital for surgery -$ 3,766. A bargain as far as I am concerned.
  3. I am 3 months out. Hang in there you will turn the corner in a day or so. For some reason day 3 is bad! When you can - walk it helps the gas and moving also keeps you focussed on something other than healing. Let us know how you do.
  4. Itold almost everyone. I knew it would help Heep me honest. The only thing I dislike is people asking how much unavenged lost. I wish they could stop at " you look great" but I suppose it is just human nature. I have really appreciated all the support from people.
  5. Just tried Almond Breeze vanilla almond andcoconut milk. A few ounces of that are like having a macaroon for a treat! Can't wait to try it with carnation sugar free like a chocolate covered macaroon for breakfast!
  6. Holy smokes Allison! Great work!!i am inspired by my envy! Yowza girl, go get a mani pedi to celebrate...so happy for you.
  7. I hear ya! When I was in thatspot any extra protein seemed to help. I mixed protein powder in with my pudding etc. Good luck it is worth the journey!!!
  8. There is pretty significant swelling of the stomach after surgery so if your doc did put fill in get him to take it out! Also try really hard to get the barium swallow done good call bonilulu good luck. Let us know how you are coming along.
  9. Question for bandsters who can still eat lettuce. if you put a protein on a salad or bed oflettuce, how much lettuce can you eat? I had a few ounces of chicken on about 3/4 c lettuce for dinner. Holy smokes I am so stuffed! Not to mention I haven't had lettuce in about three months and mystomach is making crazy noises trying to digest it!
  10. TERRIFIC! You should be so proud of yourself. I am sure excited for you. I have just a touch more to lose and can say the same thing!! THat is my first goal, then I am looking forward to many more! Celebrate by getting yourself some new earrings, or clothes! YAY FOR YOU
  11. Funny, for the things I have used and then done on high quality equipment, it seems too low...Maybe you can check on some other website for their idea on calories burned to see ??
  12. When was your surgery? I just finished a 5 week plateau and my surgery was only this March! I compulsively log my food on my fitness pal. And only lose when I eat 1100 or less Cal and exercise 5 dy week. Are you logging foods? Good luck. I would try to avoid the tests and try foods and exercises to help with weightloss.
  13. Smashing! Happy for you. Proud of you. And inspired by you!!!
  14. How frustrating for you! I think people asking how much or if you've lost more are obnoxious. Can't they just say - you look great, hope you are getting used to your band. I feel like it is not anyone's business what I weigh or weighed. People don't really care about the surgery or band so maybe you can bore them with details! Tell them you have not had fills and have to actively diet until you feel full thrnstsrt detailing hour 4 oz meals that should get them to stop asking! It's worked for me. Good luck
  15. Missoula! Patient at St Pats docs. Did you go through GF?
  16. Yes. Me! Before my surgery I was hot and sweating all the time regardless of the temp. I was too hot at home. In my bed. At work outside. Name it. I was sweating there. I could not find a deidorant that worked. It was awful. This last few weeks I have actually been cold!!
  17. Awesome! A whole new fashion world in *regular* sizes!
  18. Carole brings up the same points I would. Always measure and do follow. The no drinking before/after eating. I amconstantly starving too. In fact after dumping 50 pounds in 2 1/2 months my weight loss has ground to a halt. I have only had 2 fills and need more! Hang in there, try tracking your foods on a website that gives youcalorie. Protein, carbon info ( I use myfitnesspal.com) so toucans stay ontop of high protein low carb foods which keep you more full.
  19. Take a deep breath! You are probably just stress eating! Prep mentally by realizing you are taking a giant step to take control of your health and life! I got to 2 Protein shakes + dinner each day before the presurgery diet. This really helped me focus. You may want to Xerox from sugars and carbs before you see the nutritionist. It will be fine. Don't get too down on yourself...
  20. I am on Mcpherson. Username is tripskuly I have no one added as contacts but anyone who wants to sure can!
  21. If you aren't taking anantacid, ask your doc about one. My doc put me on one for the first month. Don't force yourself, try some pureed soup with chicken or something bland. My stomachwas sour after surgery so Greek yogurt. Cottage cheese, etc. Didn't even sound good. maybe pudding made with some protein powder? Good luck!
  22. Wahoo for you! I have measured but not added it up. I think I will tonight!
  23. My nurse made me promise not to swim for 3 weeks
  24. It's ok. Everyone heals differently. Try to keep water and some regular Gatorade in you. I would be afraid the v8 may be too acidic but if it goes down - drink it. But if it goes down drink it! Maybe you can get jello down. the vomiting is a concern though. Call the nurses at your dog's office in the morning they may have some ideas. Good luck.
