That was my first appt, finding out about the program, meeting the surgeon, psych appt, and appt with dietician. I would call and ask for an appt.

You should contact your doctor, mine gave me a complete list, before and after surgery for all phases. Good luck!

My doctor says if that happens I'm not getting enough protein. He also suggested flax seed oil 2 gel tabs a day, Nioxin Shampoo and 200 mcg Selenium per day. Good luck!

Welcome! I also had to do the 6mo program for my insurance. I had my doctor/surgeon appt, psych, and dietician all in the same day since the surgeon is 1 1/2 hrs away from me. That was done and out of way the end of Aug. My 6 months was just up last week so I'm waiting for ins approval.I love this forum and have learned tons!! Hoope all goes well for you! Good luck!

Good luck! I'm waiting also, I think they sent it in last Thursday. I have BCBS also....they said to expect 2-3 weeks before we hear. I hope they surprise us and do it much sooner!! Hope you hear soon!

I say if you're young exercise!! Take it from me.....10 yrs ago I went on a diet and lost 70lbs and didn't exercise because a friend of mine told me she didn't and still lost 80 lbs. Well I'm flabby and I'm sure that's the reason I am! At 60 I have no doubts that it's not going to go away no matter how much weight I lose. Exercise!

I'm not a pop drinker but my doctor says no more carbination of any kind ever. So that's one that won't be hard for me to comply with! LOL

As long as both of your doctors know your concerns I'm sure they'll put you at ease. You'll be out before you blink and waking up in recovery. Prayer helps tremendously too!

I agree with Denise, you need to go to the ER. I don't think they throw out indigent people when there's a problem. Talk to your doctor if you don't go to the ER, you need to be seen by someone soon.

Oh good! That's what I just bought sample pkgs of...Unjury. I'm not a chocolate lover so I got the strawberry, vanilla and unflavored, along with their chix soup. I haven't tasted them yet, I need to as I start my preop on the 5th. Thanks so much for the info and congras on a great job!!

Can I ask why it took so long for your first fill? Your choice or the doctors? Just curious.

Good luck to you both! I start mine on Feb 5th, can't wait! Everytime you get tempted to eat something you shouldn't yet think of how wonderful you're going to feel and look in 3-6 months! Make up your mind you're going to defeat the control food has over you! You can do it, make sure you're getting enough protein too. Bless you and your journey!

I agree! You have to make your mind up that you are not going to fail this time, it's not an option. As long as you do as your doctor says you should be a success.

Absolutely!! It wasn't until I found out our insurance was going to start to finally cover LB surgery and coming to this site and really reading tons of posts that I decided it wasn't a cop out....like I had been thinking for years. I knew I could lose the weight once I finally put my mind to it....BUT my problem is and always has been I keep seem to keep it off for very long. I sick of being on the YO-YO plan...I turned 60 this past summer and I decided I'm done with being fat, not doing some of things that otherwise I'd be doing if I wasn't embarrassed because of my weight....I've struggled my whole life with weight and now I can lose the weight and the band will help me keep it off. The key though is to follow religiously what your doctor tells you, stay away from the things he/she says to stay away from. It will be nice to have POWER over food rather than fooding having al the power over me for so long. I can't wait to get started!!! Wish I had been able to do this years ago! Deb

I can't wait Sherry! In 2002 I lost 70 lbs and felt wonderful, I wanted to be able to get down on the floor with my twin grandbabies....I made it and I kept it off nearly 4 years, the longest I had ever kept weight off. Then a breakup and a couple medical issues kept me down for a while and in the meantime the 70 came back on with an extra 35 on top of that. For about 6 years now I've been totally disgusted with myself and in June when I learned out insurance was going to cover all but $1500 I made my mind up I was sick and tired of being overweight so I started the 6 month program that was required to have the surgery, my 6 mos was done just las Thursday so now I'm waiting for insurance approval with surgery Mar 21................soooo looking forward to this journey and being the woman I was intended to be!! I will friend you both so we can keep tabs on each other! Thanks for the great conversation today!! xo
