  1. I have an app on my phone that I love! It's called lose it. It does all the counting for you. You can scan your foods and it will come up and enter everything. You can record your weight, if you want to keep track of your protein and carbs you can do that....it's great!! You can use on both android and iPhones. It's also online too. It's very handy especally when out and about. Check it out. Deb
  2. Hi Trina, congrats on our decision! I think it's one we won't regret! My insurance also required 6 months, which was a Turning Point Program and a health coach. I was disappointed because I wanted it done much sooner but the time seemed to go by fairly quick, my surgery is next week on the 22nd. I'm so excited to get going on it! Good luck to you on your journey, it will be here before you know it. Deb
  3. waiting..... if you do that's ok too, just remember that you will probably have a weight gain with the surgery and all the fluids they give us. As long as you keep going and stay focussed and positive you'll do great~ Good luck~ Deb
  4. Praying for you that God will give you peace and comfort as you head to surgery! You'll be fine and it will be over before you know it. Wishing you the best on your journey~Deb
  5. I'm on day 10 of pre-op....I'm getting tired of the shakes too but the key is to stay positive, mix things up, and keep your eye on the prize! I got several different shakes some better than the other, switch with broth, unjury chicken is the best, I'm allowed greek yogurt so I have one of those a day or one sf pudding, or sf Jello. I try not to eat much of those last two because of my allergy to aspertame. I drink Water and herb tea so that helps. Hang in ther Lisanj, you CAN do this! Good luck on your journey~ Deb
  6. Congrats meemee! My surgery is the same day! Not long to go now. I'm down 13 pounds today, woohoo! Haven't had any doubts yet. I'm 60 and have spent most all of my adult life fighting my weight, one big yo-yo! I'm ready to get it off and keep it off. It's up to me to follow what my doctor says and eat what and how much of what I should to be a success. We can do this, we need to do this not only for our health and well being but to be who we are intended to be. Good luck on your journey! I'll be praying for you! God is good and he wants the absolute best for us! Deb

  15. I have BCBS, my first letter telling me I needed a final weigh in weight came after just a couple days, my PC saw me right away submitted the infor on Tuesay morning and my letter of approval was dated the same day and I got it in the mail on Friday. Yay!! They originally told me it would be 3-4 wks.
  16. I haven't had surgery yet but from what I've read on here you need some gas-x strips, sounds like the awful gas pains they talk about. Walking is good too, so sounds like you're doing that. I've also read a heating pad helps too. Good luck, hope you guys feel better soon!
  17. that sounds like it would be a blast! Maybe next year, I have a conference for work that whole week. Thanks for the info, I saved it to my favorites.
  18. Well finished with day 6 of pre-op, so far doing great and down 11 pounds from my beginning weight. Yay! Getting anxious for next Wednesday to get here, pre-op stuff that afternoon then to the hospital at 7:30am on Thursday. I'm doing this journey with a friend/co-worker, her surgery is about an hour before mine, so she'll be with my daughter and I. So far I've had great support from the few that I've told. Ready to get this journey moved to the next level! Glad those of you that had surgery are doing so well! Hope the recovery progresses well for you all. Those coming up soon for surgery, we'll be thinking of you and praying all goes wonderfully!
  19. Mandy good for you, just stay positive, you'll do it! Saying prayers for all the March bandsters!
  20. I'm on day 5 of liquids, have to do two weeks prior to surgery on the 22nd. I've found some protein drinks that aren't bad and have done well. The chicken broth really helps too, I posted about it just a bit ago. Not even one cheat yet, nor do I plan to as I want to be sure my liver has shrunk by the time I have surgery. If you're feeling hungry I'm guessing you're not getting enough protein. Oh Yeah, Body Fortress and Pure Protein shakes are not too bad, plus they're handy because they also come in ready to drink too, You can do this girls.....keep your eye on the prize and all the reasons why you're sick of being overweight. Good luck on your journey. Deb
  21. dhales - Unjury has an unflavored that mixes wonderfully! It comes in a container or in single packets. They have samples so you can try one before you buy very much. It's 80 calories and 20gr protein. Also their chicken broth is wonderful!! Here's the link: http://www.unjury.com/store/protein/reg/unflavored_protein.shtml
  22. I agree, follow your doctors instructions, that's one thing I've really learned from being on this site. I'm on pre-op, surgery the 22nd. Excited to get it done and move forward on this journey. Don't worry you'll be fine and you'll be adding years to your life! Good luck on your journey!
  23. Great job lovebug! You'll do great by keeping that attitude! Wishing you well on Tuesday and on your recovery and the rest of your journey! Deb
  24. On the Body Fortress try adding a little bit of sf jello powder/mix to change up the flavor a bit.
  25. Dellaland try to stay busy and stay positive! You can do this, just make sure you're getting enough protein. Hang in there, you can do it!!
