--Walk up and down stairs without leaning heavily on the railing.
--Put on my own shoes and socks so I don't have to wear sandals all year.
    --Cross my legs.
--Watching the scale go down instead of up.
    --Having more energy.
    --Enjoying exercise?
    --Being able to travel more.
There are so many, many things I want to do!

You should be jittery because it is a big commitment. On the other hand, what other options are there for drastically improving health and quality of life? I am three months out and have never regretted my decision.

To be fair regarding the gastric bypass, I was asked while in the holding room to sign papers regarding my sleeve. One paper was to okay having an "open" gastric sleeve, in case there are difficulties and they could not do it laprascopically. I signed that paper. I was also asked what he should do if he feels that my hernia was too extensive and there was too many problems because of GERD to do a proper sleeve if I want him to close up or perform Gastric Bypass. I signed the papers to allow the Gastric Bypass, if need be.
No matter which I ended up with, I promised myself that I was changing my life...forever.
Neither surgery is an easy way out. The people that I know that have gained the weight back with Gastric Bypass CAN do a boot camp type regimen and go back to the beginning if they chose to. They should have done this after 10 pounds gain. They should have gone back to the nutritionist.
Nobody really needs to have mal-absorption issues with Gastric Bypass. They do because they do not follow the rules, they go ahead and drink beer, diet pop, regular pop, eat breads, spaghetti and they overeat. I believe truly that those that gain weight after Gastric Bypass did it because they chose to use the surgery as a "cure-all" and expected not to have to do the work.
Whether you get the sleeve, bypass, you have to do your job. You have to eat properly and exercise. I can't talk about the lap band, because this is the only surgery I would have refused outright because it would be too harmful for me because of my issues with adhesions and the fact I have lupus.
I think what most people need to really know before they have surgery is this is permanent and you have to work as hard, or actually harder after surgery than you ever had, because this is a lifestyle, not a diet.

I have never had a Protein Shake. I began eating with Fage Greek yogurt, which has 23 grams of Protein per cup and also counts as a Fluid and I added other Proteins. My nutritionist said to get all proteins from food as soon as possible and to definitely be off all protein supplements by six months.

Keep your eyes on the prize. I assume you are doing this for a healthier you and improved quality of life. Keep remembering that and also remind yourself that you have no options. I didn't say goodbye to anyone. It seemed that focusing on the remote possibility that something would happen to me would make the nervousness worse. Besides, what good would a goodbye do? If you were to die, it wouldn't make any difference to you and it wouldn't make any difference to anyone else because they would be distraught anyway.
    You will do fine.

I'm a certified chef but nothing bothers me, I was so ready for my sleeve. I love being in the kitchen and cooking and what not and to be honest, I don't miss food at all. So weird but my whole mind changed since being sleeved on July 7. I feel like a different person but still have my passion of cooking. I didn't get my degree for nothing .

That is the worst thing about food addiction, you can't get away from food ever. A lot of other addictions you can avoid seeing the source of the addiction but food addicts can't stop eating! It sounds like you unfortunately have it worse with your job. I know you won't be able to stop tasting. It is a must for any chef or baker. You will have to just be as disciplined as possible by sticking to one or two tastes just as needed. This is of course easier said than done. Perhaps you could set up a reward system for yourself? Like if you go a week without doing more than tasting when necessary you buy a shirt or dress or something similar. If you go two months a concert or play, whatever will motivate you.

You're just going to have to go cold turkey. I would suggest stopping now so it is no longer a bad eating habit when you are sleeved.

It is made by Cuisinart and I like it very much. I have used it to make Eggface's pistachio "ice cream." She has several flavors. Just go to her web site and search for ice cream.

Just stick to what your nutritionist told you to do and you will do fine. Keep a picture in your purse of you at or near your heaviest weight. When you feel tempted, take it out and look at it. That should help keep you on the straight and narrow!

I have often suggested carrying around a picture of you at or near your highest weight. When you get tempted, bring out the picture and look at it.
