  1. That is great!! Party it up girl! You deserve it!
  2. I lost 60 pounds last year to be able to get to this point. I would like lose another 60-70 pounds. I am taller so 180-190 would look ok on me.
  3. Feeling pretty good today. Learning to listen to my body and the cues it gives me. It is getting easier to rest so I can heal.Yesterday was a good day. I was able to pass gas( sorry for the tmi, but when you get to this side you will understand I had 1/2 cup of egg drop soup, one protein shake, and a popsicle. I also had a vitamin water that I sipped on all day. Well actually I have been sipping it for two days. I was so stuffed. Today I added protein powder to my shake for a total of 40 grams of protein there and I am 1/2 way through it. I also broke out in a rash from head to toe. It turns out I am allergic to the pain meds. So no more for me. Lucky enough I really do not need them anymore but it has to work itself out of my system. Im going to try to walk more today, but still the simplest things tire me out. But I am happy to be on this side!
  4. I'm so glad that we have the same date! It helps to have someone to compare notes with. Sounds like you are doing great!
  5. Usually medical supply stores sell them.
  6. Note to my independant self: Driving is not an option yet! I really wanted to go to get a pedi to kinda perk me up but hubby of course refused to drive me ( he was busy), so I was going to drive myself. Ha!! I could not get in the car without having help! So I just went back in and sat down on the couch and pouted. I am so used to doing everything for myself
  7. Where can I find un-flavored protein? I just am not going to be able to get it from the shakes. I am having a hard time getting on down. Maybe I can add it to my broth
  8. I had all of the shakes on my list that are on yours. I really would take the advice of you surgeon over the guy at the store. Good luck!
  9. Wow! What a difference a day makes! I feel good today. I slept well and the gas seems to be moving around. My incisions do not hurt at all and it is getting easier to get up and down. I still need to take it easy, but I feel like myself today! Hopefully I can get my protein in today. I was only able to get 1/2 a shake down yesterday.
  10. Doing better this evening. Had a long nap and now I am watching tv with my family. I really dont have pain from the incisions, but from the gas! It is like someone is stabbing me. I took two Gas-X strips and I can feel it moving around, so hopefully the pain will pass soon.
  11. Even talking is a too much for me! It leaves me breathless. I am walking and trying to rest. I could only get down half of a 12 ounce shake today.
  12. The spanx may be too uncomfortable right after surgery. They gave me s medical binder and it has been a great help. I agree on getting beef broth also. I'm only one day post op and I'm kind of over chicken broth. But that's because I had it during my pre-op diet also.

  14. It seems as though the smallest things make me worn out. Talking on the phone, walking to the kitchen....Today is really a day of rest for me.
  15. I am awake for a bit and hoping to get back to sleep soon. Surgery went well. I didn't go in until 11:00 tor my surgery at ten. I was out at 12:15 and woke up about two in recovery. Turns out I had a hiatal hernia, so it was repaired. I was sent for my x-ray a short while later. The tech confused me with another patient and asked me why my surgeon did a sleeve instead of a band????!!? I was so confused, but she realized her error and quickly cleared it up. I got to my room and my hubby wad there. I ass given pain meds and things to sip. I was discharged around five and got home shortly after. I did over exert myself walking and getting in and out of the car too much. I also have quite a big of gas pains and I cant lie on my back.. which is not too bad since I am a side sleeper. But overall I am doing well.
  16. Thank you all!! I will update when I can! I should be sleeping but it does not seem like I will get very much of that tonight!
  17. Well its almost time....I'm a bit nerved up a bit. I'm ready to get the surgery over and moving forward. Bag packed and a early night for me! See you on the banded side!
  18. Good luck Heather!! I think this is the sweetest gift you can give yourself!
  19. LOL! All the way up to being sedated? Now I am wondering what I wear to the hospital? I should be able to wear my regular clothes, right?
  20. So Wed. is my surgery and today I woke up in a full panic about the surgery. Really?? As hard as I have worked to get to this point, why am I now freaking out about it? I have had surgery before and I honestly do not recall very much about it. I had my tubes tied and to my memory,it was a cakewalk after. I guess I need to calm my nerves and try to settle down. I have so many things to do at work to get them ready for me to be out. I also cleaned my house from top to bottom today and grocery shopped for the family. I also told my kids today and I really need to tell my mother. I am just not sure how she will respond. My hubby and kids are very supportive. I am packing my bag today to ensure I don't forget anything. Did anyone else have a case of nerves before going in?
  21. I had the same question. I wanted one also, but decided to wait until after surgery.
  22. My Pre-op went great!!! I met my surgeon, Dr. Reilly and he is wonderful! He made me feel at ease and answered all of my questions! His scale actually had me weighing 6 pounds less than my home scale. I bought a new one after that and surprise that one had me six pounds less also! But I registered with the hospital and they were awesome also! I am fourth in line and have to be at the hospital at 8:30am and she said if all went well I could go home by 3pm. I also met the bariatric coordinator and she was awesome also. She gave me so much information. I have two packets of pre-surgery info to read tonight. Wow it is getting so close and feels real now. I am ready to get the surgery part over so I can start my new way of life.
  23. Yes I am having it at West Houston. I will keep you updated on how it went. I also exercise. Zumba about four times a week
  24. Tomorrow I meet with my doc and register at the hospital. After tomorrow I have 7 days before my surgery. I am super excited. I made a list of questions for him. 1. What size band are we using and will there be any fill at surgery time? 2. What is the average time of sugery from start to finsh? Expected time in recovery? 3. If the surgery is late in the day will a hospital stay be required? I am sure that there will be more that pop in my head before the morning. As of today I have lost 13 pounds in 7 days on my liquid diet. That is scary to me, but I know it is the diet. I just wonder how another seven days will affect me. I guess that should one of my questions, huh?
  25. Yep! But I am on day seven and I finally feel good! I was moody, bitchy and did not feel good until a couple days ago. Hang in there!
