I'm getting banded the 13th! I start my pre op diet on Monday. Not excited for that part haha but super excited for the operation!

I just got a call today from my family physician and all the pre-op test results are in and she faxed them over to the bariatric surgeon's office. Should be hearing soon when I will be scheduled. I've already stopped taking baby aspirin and started the pre-op diet that he told me about when I met him a few weeks ago. Excited, anxious, and a little bit scared. Wondering what it will be like to give up some foods and old habits. But then I started making a list of things I won't miss, like:

Buying clothes in the big woman section

Buying clothes because they fit; not because of style.

Not being embarrassed in public, esp. at the beach or pool.

Not having any dresses that fit.

Not looking in the mirror and wondering "Who the heck is that fat woman?"

Being the fat sibling in the family.

Wearing capri pants in the hot summer because I'm embarrassed to wear shorts.

I could go on and on. Do you have anything you won't miss?

I have things I'm excited to do, like get back into my bakini, I have way to many and they look so sad, I'm excited for my boobs to shrink back down haha, I can't wait to be pregnant again and be able to post pictures on fb on how my stomach is growing like everyone else and not be afraid cause i already look pregnant. I use to love having my picture taken, now I hide behind everyone and all u can see is my head, I wish I could hide that too. I can't wait to play with my daughter at the park amd not gel disgusting if I bend over. I can't wait to feel good bout sex again, I hate how my stomach hangs during it. The list goes on and on.....

Hi, this is my first post... I just went to my 2nd appt today and found out that all my testing is done and I all I need is the final sign off for surgery clearance. Since I'm not going thru the trouble of going thru my insurance they said I was open to get the surgery done as soon as I like... So I am now a February Bandster... I chose to give this to myself as the grandest Valentine's gift any woman could give herself <3

Having to ask for a seat belt extension or trying to suck everything I can in to fasten the seat belt on an airplane.

Not being able to sit in a booth at a restaurant without my stomach touching the table.

Being told I can't ride the roller coaster with my son because the safety bars won't close properly.

cavwife, I agree. I hate to sit in booths that are too snug. It's embarrassing!

February 17 for me :)
