  1. That's amazing!
  2. Hmm..my insurance also paid for hernia but not lapband. I assumed that the were two procedures and that they charged the insurance for anesthesia and other stuff and piggy backed the lap band and that's why it is less. If it is all one procedure than that does suck!
  3. At True Results in Hurst, my fills are included for first year (I was self pay also). I was told that they are $125/per fill or $200 for unlimited 6 months after the year.
  4. My vision also changed after surgery. I had to go get a new prescription. My eye dr said it is fairly common in lap band patients, but it usually happens down the road but for some reason it happened to me right away. Who would have thought improved vision would be a side effect of lap-band?
  5. Steph, this is exactly what I needed! THANK YOU! As Dianne stated, I am not sure how FitBit monitors on your bra or pocket. Any thoughts?

Thanks. I was just banded on Dec 9th and my first fill is on Jan 6th. I have not done great either. I started back on track today! I decided not to even wait until the New Year. Every day counts!
  7. I also decided to post about my surgery. I even said that if you had anything negative to say, then keep it to yourself because I had to do what I thought was right for my health. I have had great support and I wanted to have even more people to be accountable too! Congrats on your surgery. Keep us posted!
  8. Thank you soooo much. I will try these tips. I know I am not supposed to drink Water but it was hurting so bad I didnt know what to do. Thanks again. this has been the hardest habit to break!
  9. So, I am new to this (banded 12/9). A few times, I have had food fill like it is stuck and I get a pain in the middle of my back. Usually if I drink something, I can get it to go down, but it hurts! Is this what it feels like to get "stuck"?
  10. Do you have any preferences? If so, which one? I am trying to figure out my next purchase. Thanks!
  11. I have not had my fill yet, but I ate some tilapia (sp) the other day. It was soft and I chewed it up with no problem. I am also curious about shrimp. I don't think crab or lobster would be a big deal (except the calories). They are easy to chew up.
  12. You can do this! Are you still on liquids? I am about 3 weeks post op and I am struggling with all the food too, but I have to remember that I had surgery because I needed help and so I have to take the consequences that come with the help. Hope you feel better!
  13. I had the lap band with pilation (sp?). My dr said its the same effect as the sleeve but with no permanent damage. I just started this journey (banded Dec 9) so I will keep you informed.
  14. I also used True Results. I used Dr. Snow in Hurst, but they have been great.
  15. I was banded on Dec 9th and just went to my follow up. My dr said I can eat anything just to try a few test bites and chew, chew, chew with any new foods. I just am wooried because I dont feel like I have much restriction but I have been trying to watch what I eat.
  16. Thanks for posting this because I feel the same way and its good to know its normal. I am worried because I dont feel any kind of resistance and I was banded 2 weeks ago also.

When my surgi-strips started peeling, I trimmed them down so that they wouldn't get caught and pull off. If you keep trimming eventually they will just come off. I have heard that you should not pull them at all! I am only at Day 11 and I think the last of mine came off on Day 9. I also had a pain yesterday for the first time. It was in my left side. It kinda felt like the pain you get in your side when running. But today it is much better. My follow-up is tomorrow. I have lost 16 lbs since I started my 4 day pre-op diet but it has stopped in the last few days. I need to stop looking at the scale every morning!
  18. I bought some at Walmart that are little tablets. Not very big at all.
  19. Congrats on your surgery! I am little over a week post op and can not wait to continue this journey!
  20. Swiss Miss Chocolate is instant hot chocolate. I had to add peanut butter to my shakes. I had trouble drinking them too. I ate them like ice cream. With a small baby spoon.
  21. I use Jillian Michaels from Walmart. $10 for a can of powder.
  22. I didn't have that bloated feeling, but I have heard many others have. I am only 9 days post op. Congrats on your surgery!
  23. Loved it. I am also horrible at keep resolutions, but 2012 is going to be a year of success for me. I was just banded on 12/9, so it's a whole new me for 2012! Thanks for posting.
  24. Thanks. I have some plastic baby spoons that I have been using These would be much nicer.
