Day 3 Post Lap Band Surgery

Recommended Posts

Ok, so here I am day 3 post op, feeling pretty good, just have really bad pains on my left side. I can honestly say that the pain is really not as bad as I thought it would be. Just moving really slow and trying to drink, drink, drink. I'm already sick of broth and Jello and I can't wait to day 14 where i can have Beans and fish, you know real food. I also had a hernia repaired and i'm taking my meds like i should.. I just feel SOOOOOOOO bloated though, is that normal?

I didn't have that bloated feeling, but I have heard many others have. I am only 9 days post op. Congrats on your surgery!

I didn't have the bloating, but many do. Just follow your doctor's instructions and you'll do fine.

Congrats on your successful surgery, I am glad everything went well. Mine is in four days, so I am excited.

I wanted some regular food too. Good luck with the journey, I look forward to reading your post about your success.

The bloated feeling is common. Keep moving as much as you can. Use a heating pad, it feels sooo good. Welcome to the "losers' bench!"

I am also 3 days post op. I feel so much better than I expected. I was really the bloated the day of and the next day. The more I walked the more it went away. Now I really don't feel bloated at all and my gas pains are almost completely gone. I even went to Target today just to get out of the house. Good Luck!

I had my surgery Friday the 16th so I guess this would be two days postop. I am feeling pretty good. Just a little sore. Burping is coming and going. We went out shopping today which helped alot. I think by wedneday I should be feeling pretty good. I am so sick of Jello. The only thing I have been eating is Jello, broth and Water. I look forward to something different.

Good luck and I hope all us newbies will start feeling better soon.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
