  1. Wow... I haven't posted here in a while. I was banded back in Dec. and they had over filled me to the point I became severely dehydrated, couldn't get down more than 4oz of water a day and was having this really bad pressure over the left side of my face. Had all test run, came back normal except for dehydration so they took ALL of my fill OUT. Last month I tried to get the fill put back in but the nurse said NO since I still couldn't keep down a lot of foods, esp. meats. Well, now it's March, I've now STOP counting calories and pretty much am eating like crazy. I still can't eat a lot of different meats, but I CAN eat plenty of speghetti which I eat almost daily. I've gain 10 pounds, it almost feels like I'm back to life how it was before the band in a way.... though I still vomit breads, thick pieces of meat, like chicken breast, chicken nuggets etc - I can sure get the junk food down (potato chips) I'm worry they still won't get me a fill because I'm still having the pressure on the left side of my face, not as severe but it's still there many days. I'm STARVING all the time, nothing satisfies me.
  2. Wow, how in the world did your port flip? They took my fill out to because of dehydration problems so I feel ya... I can't wait to get a fill too. I feel so far behind the "Dec" group as far as loosing weight goes. Can't wait to get back on track.
  3. Feeling a little bit discouraged. Was banded 12/14 I think it was... 5cc's were put in making me only be able to drink 4oz of water a day, I became severely dehydrated having pressure/pain on my left side of my head, they removed ALL of my fill so I could get water in, pain finally went away once I could get more water in but here I am now... called to see if I could get a fill because I am feeling hungry more often through out the day, however the nurse said they are not going to give me a fill until I can start keeping food down. I get sick weekly, (almost daily) it doesn't make sense. I ate a chicken thigh from KFC, it went down fine - the next week I got a grilled chicken breast from KFC and I couldn't keep it down. Yesterday I took a thin sliver of lunch meat ham, it came back up. I do well with soups, green beans, mash potatoes and believe this... even spegetti (which I thought we couldn't eat, but I've tried it and that stays down) but almost everything else comes back up. I'm chewing like crazy, I'm eating slow. To not even have a fill in me, it's weird that I'm getting sick on many foods though. This is really starting to get to me and make me sad.
  4. For me it wasn't a big secret. I'm not ashamed that I needed a "tool" to be able to help me loose weight. Sure, you have those who against it, but surprisingly I've had a few friends who are interested in it and I would have never known that if I hadn't shared my experience.
  5. Thanks Cheri. I'll have to ask my doctor about that!
  6. I had a very negative exp. when my doctor over filled me and I became sereverly dehydrated. I don't regret getting my band, but sometimes things can go wrong. I know I would want to hear the good and bad to make a wise decision before changing my life.
  7. What's a fluro? I do okay getting down Soups, chili, mash potatoes, green Beans but almost everything else comes back up as well.
  8. All test for me came back NORMAL the only thing wrong was I was severely dehydrated. I've noticed now (weeks later) the pain is almost completely gone thank God!!
  9. Wow Atl-Jen, someone who finally had the same problems as me... but I don't have a answer for you, every test they ran, blood, xray, cat scan - it all came back NORMAL. I'm convince it still has something to do w/ surgery but the doc didn't have a clue, says maybe it's sinus even though my sinus test came back normal too and I've never had sinus problems before. I'm thinking it's swelling pushing on a nerve or something... I've notice since my swelling as gone down the pain is not as bad so prayerfully it will go away completely once all my swelling is gone. I will keep you in pray Jen-Alt, I feel for you. Please talk to your doctor - weird 2 people having same thing happen both w/ lap band on same day at that!
  10. Hi Brent! I truly don't believe this is sinus related. They just can't find anything else and since I live in Cincinnati they are blaming it on sinus. But I will try that and see if it helps. Thanks for posting!
  11. I just had a unfill after getting surgery in Dec. they haven't put anything back in yet but no I don't have any weird stomach feelings going on.
  12. I've tried the sinus spray and sinus rinse but I'm still having the pain/pressure on the left side of my head, more so now if I lay on my left side - not as often through the day though. I still don't believe it's sinus. I still think it has something to do w/ lap band because if I tried to overeat I get the same pressure.
  13. Cynsae, did your doctor say WHY you were having these pains? Just curious if it was "just" gas or what.
  14. Well the test results are in... my surgeon said your primary doctor had extensive testing done on you... pretty much everything under the sun, (urine, blood work, x-ray, cat scan, mamogram, sinus test, the works) and every single test came back NORMAL - the only thing they could find wrong was that I was severely dehydrated. Okay... I know what your thinking, we'll praise the Lord right? Of course I did, BUT I'm still having the pressure on the left side of my head. Guess what the doctor think it is? SINUS... can you believe it??? I said even though the sinus test came back normal, he said yes - we live in Cincinnati where most people have sinus problems (though I never had in the past) My dad agrees w/ the doctor as he has sinus problems and said yes, it's worse than a migraine and yes you can feel it behind your left eye socket into your jaw line, left side of the back of my head, severe pressure and pain. Sooooo, even though I'm not totally convinced (yet) I am going to buy the sudifed and sinus rinse the doctor told me to get over the counter and see what happens. He didn't seem too concern that I'm still not able to eat really a lot of solid foods (surgery was Dec. 14th w/ 2 hernia repairs) Liquids and mushy goes down okay but solids 90% of the time I throw back up. He said I'm still very swollen and says it's acting like a "fill" even though they took all of my fill out a week ago because I was severely dehydrated only drinking 4-6oz of liquid a day. Now I can definately get the water in and my doc seemed pleased about that. He said your where most people want to be... he said don't worry, soon enough you'll be starving and eating everything in sight (as he didn't put my fill back in yet since the swelling is acting like a fill) So I just wanted to thank you all for the many prayers you said for me. I must admit, I was beginning to get VERY worried... crazy thoughts of what "could" be wrong were going thru my mind. Hopefully it IS just sinus and I can clear it up soon. Doc did tell me I could start my daily walking of 30 mins. a day which he said would help w/ the swelling and said it would make me feel better.
