  1. Wow you look good and I love that dress!
  2. I use everydayhealth.com and I love love love it!
  3. Thank you for clearing this up. I knew this of course but did not know how to relay this message to the poster above who said everyone gets a tube during surgery.
  4. My ng tube stayed in 2 days after surgery
  5. I'm losing weight from every part of my body most noticeably my thighs, hips and waist.
  6. Yes I've always been healthy no co-morbidities just FAT. No high blood pressure, excellent cholesterol etc. I came to this decision at the last minute simply because I did not want the band stuck in me. I did not realize I had other choices until my insurance forced me to go to a center of excellence.
  7. IMHO there is no comparison. I had 3 c-sections and they were all open incisions. This surgery was done laprascopy and to me the incisions felt like ant bites. My pain was minimum but there are others who have had more pain. Everyone is different. As I stated earlier, the most pain I had was a sore throat from the ng tube.
  8. I went to the doc today and I have an update as to why the ng tube is being used. I was told that it decompresses the stomach to help extract the gas and acids and minimizes vomiting. I must admit I did not have vomiting except when I woke up and found the tube gagging me because I was trying to throw it up out of me lol.
  9. I was beginning to think I was alone with the tube Did you have a very sore throat afterwards?
  10. Wow you're doing good as well. Keep up the good work. I will post more pics real soon. Thanks for your support.
  11. Awe I'm sorry to hear that. I know just how she felt. I would not wish this on anyone. I don't know why this wasn't explained to me.
  12. No I did not have any apnea or other complications. The way they explained it to me is the tube was there to make sure I did not have any internal bleeding. It was a ng tube. I had some bag on the side and they said when the Water in that bag starts running clear then it was safe to take the tube out. So let me make this clear to everyone, if you are going to be sleeved in St. Petersburg FL by Dr Ernest Rehnke, You will without a doubt have a tube through you nose and down your throat lol. I cried and cried and they would not take it out until they knew I was no longer bleeding inside. They said this was standard for every sleeve and gbp patient. Only if I knew before hand I would have got out of dodge. I can laugh about it now. I took pictures as well. I will post them to my profile when I get a little further out. If anyone wants to see it message me and I will send it to you. My little girl was crying because she said I looked miserable and helpless.
  13. I feel like I can eat way too much at times. For instance, one whole egg is not enough. I eat 2 whole eggs.
  14. Thank you for your post. Before surgery I was so malnutrioned (is that a word?) my doc said it wouldn't hurt to take enough vitimans. At my next appointment I will have blood work done and I will definitely know if I'm doing too much then I will back off lol
  15. I was sleeved on 11/15/2011. Below is a sample of what I will eat: For Breakfast: 1 Labrada Lean Body On The Go Protein shake For Lunch: 1 Baked chicken Breast (Skinless) with Organic Girl Baby Spring Mix salad For Dinner: 1 Baked Tilapia with same salad above. Snack: Some days none or yoplait light yogurt or Fiber one 90 cal brownie. I forgot to put that I top my salad with shredded lowfat cheddar or mozzarella cheese I walk 3 or 4 days per week for 30 minutes or 1 hour depending on how I feel.
  16. Before vsg I would NEVER I repeat NEVER take my vitamins. I now take vitafusion multivites and vitafusion calcium (they are sooo delicious) I have to hide them from my husband and daughter. In addition to these I take centrum chewables because it has more iron. I asked my doc if I was taking to much and he said too many vitamins can't hurt so every chance I get I treat myself with a calcium gummy trying not to exceed 5 in a day. I drink lots of water to keep from getting gall stones. Has anyone else fallen in love with vitamins? If so, what kind do you take?
  17. Has anyone signed up for everydayhealth.com? I stumbled on this site and for the past month I've been logging all of my food intake here. The thing I love the most is this site has recipes and if you don't know what to eat it has menus. If you don't like the menu it gives you the option to change it and print it. It also allows you to download phone apps. It caculates my excercises for me. if there is not a food listed that I ate, it will allow me to add a custom food. It also has a forum for support which I haven't used because I have all of you. You can join and it's free my screen name is DestinationSkinny. If you join, please look me up and befriend me. Thanks for reading.
  18. :bump2: Praying for you while sliding over on the loser's bench.
  19. Thanks Imknothatgirl. I was in a dark place at that size now I feel so happy knowing there is hope and it will continue to get better from here. Thanks for all of your support.
