  1. my doctor used the glue to stitch me up...I was fine with it....its what you prefer
  2. for some (like me) it goes away, but when you have no food in you, your tummy feels "empty" for others they still feel hunger....all depends on your body...
  3. I am a revision patient....and I took a good long time researching doctors to do my revision just for that reason, the high complication rate....I finally decided on my doctor and when I told him how I vetted him, he was impressed, he said I knew more about him than most of his patients....after our first meeting, I prayed prayed prayed for God to guide his hands during the procedure....I also was very strict on myself during the liquid diet he had me on (did it for 3 weeks instead of the 2 he wanted me to do it) I am determined to be a success...I am very happy with my progress so far...
  4. It was a stupid one, get off this board and get a life
  5. Just love reading the responses to that ignorant comment made by her....kept it informational and classy... well done ladies...
  6. I try to stay under 40...if I go over 40, I will workout that day so I can have more carbs....carbs are okay....as long as you eat complex carbs...not simple sugars....
  7. As the months progress, the swelling in your stomach will go down and the muscle will stretch some....I've heard people as far as 1 to 3 years post op say they can eat as much as a cup at a time now...
  8. I honestly havent had this issue, yet...I know its coming but as of right now I haven't had it yet... ALthough there are some co-workers of mine who used to talk to me on a daily basis last year, will not even look at me now....I dont take offense to it, everyone has to deal with themselves, its not my problem....
  9. I would tell them exactly what you told us....that's what I did when I told my family, and I was ready for the backlash....but to my surprise, no backlash.... I have so much support now from my family now....even when I was in the hospital for the surgery, my cousins called and texted me giving me inspirational words and prayers (my family has 5 preachers) and encouragement....on facebook I post about my progress and doctor appts...in code of course (its really no one's business if you had surgery or not) and they know what I am saying and they motivate me on there....
  10. Well I started at 339....after the 2 week liquid diet I was down to 324 on the day of surgery (6/11/12) now 3 months post-op I'm at 277.2 I am very happy, especially since I'm a revisioner.... I just pray that it continues to drop off and away forever
  11. congrats! See you on the loser's bench!
  12. I honestly dont miss any food...havent had issues with anything (praise thee) and I pray I have continued success....
  13. Instead of hating your current state.....start to praise God for your future state...stay hopful...when I was in my final week I was content, excited, and nervous all at the same time....
  14. I only have dizzy spells if I go too long before my next meal....I'll get weak and light headed, and if I turn too fast I'll get dizzy
  15. well, at first is was watery....until I started soft foods...then it got back solid again.... I had the talk with my doc when I was 1 month post op, because I was goin like every other day....and he said that I should be going everyday....try to increase my veggie intake with protien, and eat those Fiber gummies.... every since then I make a conscious effort to make sure I eat some veggies everyday....

  17. Three days after my surgery my period decided to come....for the first time in 5 months....I didnt have one in July, so my GYN put me on a different pill and I had one in August...I'm hoping that they come regularly now that I'm lighter
  18. congrats! my pants are all swallowing me...a co worker told me today to start shopping...lol, I told her they are going to have to fall off before that happens, I'm broke! lol
  19. I've found the opposite to be true....since I've been VSGed guys approach me more...it could also be because my self-confidence has improved.... I've lost close to 60 pounds....so I guess I'm coming out of my shell more...
  20. I didn't have a completely bad experience with the band, I had no experience with it....I didn't lose any weight
  21. Pop Chips are the only chips I eat now....I can only eat 1/2 serving at a time, so a bag can last me a month....if I try to eat other chips the fat in them makes my mouth feel icky and my stomach hurts for hours afterwards....too fatty
  22. I so wished I was able to transfer schools over the summer....I'm praying I will be able to for next school year.... SO far not many people have commented, the teacher aides have, but everyone else haven't and I kinda like it that way....but I will be losing more so I know the comments will be made later in the year....
  23. more relief than regret....I wish I had the courage to have VSG done earlier....I love the fact I can eat grapes and apples again.....it feels wonderful to be able to not worry about whether the band will let me eat at a particular time.... I just love my sleevie!
