  1. Hey, I know someone else has asked about this, I just could'nt find the thread, so I will ask again.... How long is the "honeymoon period"?? Some have told me the first 6 months, while others have told me the first year. What have you been told??
  2. I only wished I'd decided to have it sooner.....I love the fact that I can eat a half of a serving size and feel stuffed....
  3. old navy have plus sized workout clothes for like under $10 this weekend
  4. My sleeve is slightly bigger than the typical sleeve, the top part of my stomach dilated from years of having a too tight lapband...and instead of cutting that part out, my doctor left it and cut the rest of my stomach out....at first I couldn't eat 1/3 of a cup of food at a time....5 months post op now, I can eat between 3/4 cup of food at a time
  5. congrats!! cant wait to join ya!!
  6. Keep up the good work!!! We have the same starting weights....my goal is to get to 170 pounds....I also have a goal of 100 pounds lost by my 6 month post-op visit (Dec 11th) I'm keeping my fingers crossed!
  7. COngrats!! My Dr. is Dr. Yu, but Dr. Scarborough assisted him during my procedure (I had revision surgery) so I've met him too!! Welcome to the TLC family!!! )

  9. I was banded back in 2005...only lost 40 pounds....the first year....eventually regained it plus 20 pounds in 2012, when I decided to revise to the sleeve in June....as of today I am 75 pounds lighter....and counting... I regret not revising sooner, so so happy!
  10. you are right, life is much easier being single and in school...honestly for the next 2 years I'm more interested in finishing then dating...but if I'm asked out, I will not turn it down but if I'm not asked out, I'm ok with that too....
  11. My MFP nick is AskBelieveRecieve
  12. I'm in Houston, Texas....4 almost 5 months post op....I finally feel like dating again after a 3 year hiatis from it....mainly because of school, and I'm still in grad school for another 1.5 years, so I'll have to find someone who is understanding of the fact that I dream that I am working to make into a reality... And to answer everyone's question, yes I had surgery while in school....didnt take not one day off....I churned right on through....reading my books on my kindle while hooked to a pain pump, my doc wanted me to relax, and I told him "I'm on a mission, cant relax now" he just said either I relax or my body will make it.....and he was right, my body made me...but I still got my work done....lol
  13. I equate cravings with head hunger....if you occupy yourself with something when it starts you are less likely to give in.... I wanted cheetos last week and bought a bag and poured out 1oz of them....I think I made it to 1/2 oz of them before I got sick.... Lesson: I will not touch another cheeto anytime soon! The same thing happened when I decided to eat a Jason's deli big chocolate chip cookie....it made me dump...I will not be touching another cookie anytime soon and dont mention cupcakes, cant stand the sight of them
  14. wow you are awesome!! I know you have to feel great! Welcome aboard!
  15. call the doctor, the same thing happened to me....and mine gave me some muscle relaxers and it made the world right again!

You need to be more secure in yourself sweetie....if he decides to leave once you lose weight, that's his business....dont let that affect him....
  19. congrats to you...you need to do a collage
  20. No it's very uncomfortable if I over eat
  21. I'm 3.5 months post op and I can hold about 3/4 of a cup of food....but I am revision with a small dilated pouch at the top of my sleeve, which allows me to eat a tiny bit more than the typical sleeved person
