I agree with your friend as well...you should always contact your doctor if you are having issues. I believe people come on here and ask health questions as a form of "vertfication" No one likes to feel like something is just happening to them

Well I haven't had my revision yet, June 2012, but the cost I was quoted was $17500 and I live in Houston

could also be from not getting in enough protein...I'm still pre-op so I'm just guessing....have you been trying to get some in??

Has anyone considered or is in therapy for weightloss/body image issues??? I know people do not like talking about therapy and please dont take it that I am snooping into your life....the question that has been on my mind for a while....mainly because I'm planning to have revision surgery in June and wondering would it be benefitial for me because I've been overweight since age 8, and since having the lapband for the last 7 years has failed me... I guess I'm just afraid of failure again and want to help myself as much as I can...

Nope, you had the slimes....I still have my lapband and get it whenever I eat bread or do not chew my food enough...

The reason why I am having my lapband removed is because it does not work for me....you are so not alone....I was banded in 2005 and have lost a grand total of....10pounds!! and I have over 100 pounds to lose! I understand your inital feeling of being a failure, I still do not tell anyone that I have a lapband. Everyone knows I am having gastric sleeve surgery...but only a few people know I have a lapband and I am actually having revision surgery....

The only resolution I have for 2012 is that I will be sleeved in the summer....I am still nervous, but I know I need this Lapband out of me, 7 years with it and no results....

Hi, glad you posted this question, I have the same question... I was banded in 2005...haven't had any complications such as erosion or slipping (thank God) but have decided to have this procedure done in June 2012 (have to wait until summer, teacher) I hope people respond!

I paid out of pocket for my lapband back in 05... I'm now looking to pay out of pocket for revision because my school district has a total exclusion on WLS So, I'm going to finance it again....still very angry with my district

Hi everyone, I've been a lurker for a couple of months now.....decided to build up the courage to ask a question.. I was banded back in 2005....and at the most I have lost 30 pounds, I really need to lose 150 pounds....I find myself getting really hungry, and when I work out its the worst!! It like I am STARVING and when I eat I end up eating too fast and pbing...... a friend of mine had me talk to a cousin of hers who had the sleeve, and I have decided to do the revision surgery....I'm a teacher so I will need to wait until the summer, so the plan is to have it June 2012... Now my question is has anyone had the same issue with the band as me?? I dont have any issues with slippage or erosion or anything like that...
