  1. Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...............Little Miss  Here. LOL. It was soooo worth it.
  2. Happy Thanksgiving to all my friends here. I'm Thankful for so much, my husband, my health and yes, my family. As much as they drive me bananas, I'm still glad I have them. Our Troops and everyone that keeps us safe. I wish my house smelt good. I did take a shower so I guess that does count. LOL. This is just so foreign to me. Not cooking and baking, it feels weird. But I am really looking forward to spending the day with Bob and making his day a little brighter. My Thanksgiving Prayer is that all of you enjoy your day and have the time of your life with your family and loved ones. Hugs to all.
  3. My older sis, the one with the head trauma called me crying today. She said she was sick and her throat was hurting. She said she called her daughter and she couldn't help her out, she was too busy at work. She called her oldest son and he was already on the road to OK. She tried calling our younger sis and she wasn't answering her phone. She called me an hour before we were to leave for our hospital shift. She wanted someone to go get her some cold-tylenol and some ny-quil. I said why didn't you call me earlier. She said she didn't want to bother me. So now we have to hurry up and put our scrubs on and head to Walgreens and then over to her place. She said she doesn't think she will be able to do Thanksgiving if she doesn't feel better. So we go to work, get off about a half hour early and head over to Best Buy to pick up Hubby's new laptop. Come home and I asked my BIL to come upstairs. So my younger sis comes up and says he won't come up because he is in a bad mood. I asked her what was happening. She said that they aren''t going tomorrow because they can't afford it. I told her that I had told them that we were paying for it and she said that they still weren't going to go. I said that was fine, that Hubby and I were still going and we were going to have a good time. Why is it that people can't just suck it up and make one day a happy day for everyone. Someone always has to throw a wrench in. My stance is that I refuse to beg anyone to go. If you tell me that you can't or won't go, than fine. I'm not going to get on my knees and plead. Hubby and I are going. This is more about Bob having to spend his first Holiday without his wife of over 45 years. So Hubby and I are going for him and no one else. I had gallstone about 8 years ago. They found them in a ultrasound. Doc said they were small enough to not worry about at this time. So about 2 years later I was experiencing nauseua for days. I went back to the Docs and he ordered another ultrasound. All gone. He said I must have passed them and that wa why I wasn't feeling good. Sis just came upsatirs and wanted to borrow some black socks. She wants to wear them with her new shoes tomorrow. So now I guess they are going. And people want to know why I want to go away for the holidays. :frown:
  4. This is why I hate Holidays. THE DRAMA HAS STARTED.
  5. Went into work this morning. This was our last day there. Store is now closed. Everyone handled it pretty good but that's because they are coming to the other store. So we will be seeing everyone on Monday. Came home and got hubby and we went to Best Buy to talk to them about the computer that will be on sale Friday morning. She offered us a ticket to get one of the 37 that they will have for sale. Turns out that we ended up getting a laptop instead. We went ahead and got it now while it is on sale. One reason was because it is a name brand and not some name we had never heard of before. Got a really good deal on it. We have to go back this evening to pick it up. We will go after our hospital shift. So looks like I won't be seeing hubby for awhile. LOL. Oh well. I'll check in later. Looks like I'm gonna have lots of time on my hands now. No hubby.
  6. I'm gonna catch-up with DWTS. See you all tomorrow.
  7. Is the trophy mine now???
  8. I must be out of my FREAKIN mind. I just paid $45.00 to have highlights put in my hair. Holy Cow. I was getting ready to write the check when she told me that. I was thinkng it would be around 30-35 dollars. Good thing I have a strong heart. LOL
  9. The hospital just called and my cat-scan is scheduled for Friday at 1:30. Now I'm off to go get the hair done. See ya later.

  11. Kat, is this the recipe? Pumpkin Gooey Butter Cake — Paula Deen's recipes, Home Cooking and Cooking Tips
  12. Kat, I have thought about getting one of those Snuggies. But I ended up buying an electric blanket for my chair here. When not in use it is folded up on the foot stool. That's for when the fireplace is not going. Otherwise my chair is at the corner of the fireplace and it keeps me pretty toasty. I'm gonna go look up the recipe for the gooey pumpkin cake on Paula's site. If I can't find it I may need you to send it to me. Tracy, How about teaching her to make and bake cookies or a cake. Something to get her mind in another direction. Maybe take both girls to the mall to do some pre-holiday window shopping.
  13. Morning Girls. It's raining a cold out. Supposed to be like this all day long with the temps falling. Winter is trying to make it's way back in here. Taking my sis to the lab at the hospital to have here blood drawn. I'll leave here soon to go get her. She has to fast for at least 8 hours, so I'm sure she wants to get this over with so she can get some coffee in her, lol. I have an appointment at noon to get highlights in my hair. We didn't have time to do it last week when she cut my hair. So back today I go. Make it a good one.
  14. Kat, I will be keeping Rick in my prayers that all will turn out fine. Hopefully they can just take a small area and stitch it up good. They did that with my sister. Keep your chins up.
  15. Think I'll head to bed early tonight. I'm not feeling real good and am running a fever. I called the Doc to call into the pharmacy some anti-nausea med but I'm too tired to get out to go get it. I have to be out in the morning so I'll go get it then. Hope every had a great day.
  16. Oh Jenn, that is great news all around. And to top it off, you will have insurance. What a big plus. I'm so proud of you and your weight loss. Thanks for being an inspiration. Kat, I know it sounds sad but we are actually going to the casino Harrah's for Thanksgiving. I'm actually starting to warm up to the idea of it. The thought of me not cooking all day is both a weird concept and also a blessing. I don't have to do all the clean up either. My best friend that passed away last April, well I ran into her duaghter and asked her what they were doing for the day. She said all of her brothers were going to their in-laws. So that left her and her dad and they decided to go to the buffet at Harrah's. She asked if we would like to go. I asked Hubby and Sisters and they all agreed to do this. Not to leave Bob alone on his first Thanksgiving without his wife, well, it just wasn't an option. And we get to avoid all the drama of who is going to make what and who is going to do what and etc. etc. etc. Still haven't heard about my cat-scan yet. I talked to the Doc's office friday afternoon and she was hoping that by today she would have approval on it. I'll keep you posted on it. Off to take a quick nap. See ya soon.
  17. Watching the Music awards. Pretty good so far. Now if I can just keep my mind off the bowl of ice cream my sister put in the freezer for me. I just want to wish all of us Good Luck during this week of food. I know it will be hard but I hope we can still enjoy the company and friends and family with it not having to be all about the food. See ya in the morning.
  18. Tracy, sorry to hear about the house. That guy is just doing the wrong thing. Your time will come to be a homeowner. Off to the nephews to get some money that he owes us. He said he would pay us wednesday and we haven't heard from him since. So we are doing a surprise show-up. lol.
  19. I'm so glad that yesterday is over with. My eating was way out of control. I mean way out of control. Ok, it's done and over with. Tracy, I love the house and am keeping my fingers crossed for you guys. Is that an extra bedroom I see for when I come to visit???? LOL. Football day today. Ugh.
  20. Weekend is here and I have to work. Oh well. Not much going on, should be an event-free weekend. I said "Should". Probably just get caught up on some stuff around here. Have a great weekend Everyone.
  21. OMG, Kat. That was an amzing story. Very funny also. I'm thinking I would have had the same reaction. So, have you named him yet????
  22. Hey, Been really busy this morning. First we went to the gym and worked out. Came home and showered and did housework. Went to the bank and than took hubby to the Doc's to have his Glaucoma surgery. Brought him home and than went and made a beer run and picked up some Long John Silvers for lunch. Hubby is taking a nap now and letting the dilation wear off. Kelly, you have twin 24 year olds? You look great for that. I thought you were a lot younger than that. Hope they have a great day. Laura, so glad to hear about your MIL. I will keep her in my prayers that she wil recover very fast. Hi Tweety. Hi Tracy and Kat. I'll check in later after I get home from work.
  23. Home from work and now getting caught up with Desperate Housewives. Thank heavens for TiVo. My next appointment is Dec. 21st. Do you think I could lose 2 pounds by than?????
  24. Donna, Welcome. I'm the oldie in the group. Over 50. But age is not an issue here. Caring for each other is. Irene, WOW. Got home from the Doc's. He got to look at the x-ray they had sent and could see the spots they were talking about. He said he didn't think it was cancer because after 3 years I would probably be dead by now. I asked if it could be scar tissue and he said he really didn't think it was, but could be. I asked about the Silica and he said that we should just wait till the test results come back. He has ordered a cat scan. They haven't called me yet with an appointment for that. He's puzzled because it's been 3 years and I show no syptoms of anything. I feel like taking a nap but will refrain from that. The sun is finally shining here, after 4 days of clouds and rain. I need to take advantage of it. Maybe take doggie for a walk.
  25. Good Morning Girls. Up and getting ready to head out. Doc appointment this morning. Jenn, thanks for keeping me motivated. I'll check in with you guys when I get done getting poked and x-rayed. lol.
