  1. Hey. Got home from work and hubby and I decided to go to the hospital to check on my cousin. Things sure have gone down hill. I almost didn't recognize her. And besides that, they made me scrub up and wear a gown to go in her room. Hubby stood at the door with some other cousins that showed up. She needs lots of prayers. LOTS. Came home and took the brownies out of the freezer. I made them last week and while they were in the oven Lori called and told me that class was canceled. So I wrapped them up and froze them for today. The teens will like them at class tonight. I'm really surprised that I never got into them. It's cold and gray here today. Not as cold as Kat but it's 27 degrees and the winds are howling.
  2. Well I bet Tracy partied all night long. lol. Go Saints. I had the laziest day yesterday. I at least did get dressed. Went to church and than came home and put my flannel pants on and my Harley hoody. Made a beef stew in the crock pot and the house smelt wonderful all day. We put a fire in the fireplace but it was so windy that we finally just let the fire burnout. Day one of my get my A$$ back on track, so far so good. Have a great day and I will check in later.
  3. Morning Girls. I'm up early because I have to work at Church this morning. Father wants the ladies from the Women's Ministry at 9am mass so we can do a "HI, I'm so & so and Welcome. And your name is?" It's a time to meet our neighbors. We went and played cards last night and had a great time. We got home around 11:15 and headed straight to bed. As I had just dozed off, the power went out. I got out of bed and made it to the kitchen to get the flashlight. Sis hollered upstairs to tell us that there was no "Pop" from the breaker box. I opened the front door and for as far as you could see, no one had power. It was funny to see the people that were up and the flashlights in the windows. So I headed back to bed and layed there and listened to the quiet. I miss my fan going drowning out the cars. I don't know how long I had been asleep when all of a sudden the smoke alarm beeped and my fan came back on. I grabbed the flashlight and my watch and I reset my clock and alarm and went right back to sleep. Still no word as to why the power was out for 1 1/2 hours. Nothing on the news so far about it. Michelle, that sounds like it would be a lot of fun. 4 wheeling in the snow. I pulled some stew meat out so I guess the crockpot is the next to come out. It'll be good for a cold blustery day. You know we haven't seen the sun in almost a week now. They say that it will be here Tuesday. The cats all have cabin fever. lol. Have a great day.
  4. Football is in my future, but I don't know who I'm rooting for yet. lol. One hour at a time is exactly what I need to do. Well, actually I need to tie my hands behind my back. Looks like a little nap is coming on.
  5. We've lived in our house about 25 years so it was about 23 years ago that I bought Hubby a snowblower for Christmas. One of the best investment I've made. Especially this year, yikes we've had a lot of snow. Today I took sis to have her blood drawn and to the grocery store. For the over hour that I was with her it was still the all me and what I need attitude. Not once did she ask how I was doing or how was our other sis doing. Not even how was her kids doing. So next week I will take her to her doctor's appointment to see if we can get her set up with a psychatrist. I will take her to get her grocerys set up for the weekend and than I am coming home and packing a suitcase for hubby and me and we are "gone", and not looking back. We are going to have a very cold but very good weekend. Seriously, who would schedule a weekend at a dude ranch the last weekend in January??? I guess if I hadn't had a hysterectomy I would probably end up pregnant from trying to stay warm all weekend. OMG, LOL. NOT. Anyway, I am so looking forward to this. One reason is that hubby has never been on a horse, maybe this might be his first time. I will be taking the camera so I will post pics of all that we do and see. Here we are 22 days into the new year and I'm still not down any weight. What with the pressure of sister stuff and nephew stuff. And not to mention that it's a daily struggle to keep my mind off of my lung issue. Well it's a wonder I haven't gained 20 pounds. Maybe I have. I haven't weighed in probably 2 weeks now. We will all do it this year. Isn't that all of ours' goal? Be it 5 pounds or 100 pounds, we will all make a dent in it. I know I will eventually get my head back in this. I do have another incentive to help me along. For 2 weeks now the girl that we work with on Wednesday night at the hospital has been talking to me about getting the band for herself. She needs to loose about 120 pounds. So last wed. she told me that her hubby has finally agreed to her doing it. Her hurdle now is her insurance. I have given her all the websites to look at and eventually I will tell her to come to our little chat site. It's been fun to see smeone with that gleam in their eyes like I did when I first started out. Tomorrow is a work day for me and than we are going over to Bob's to play cards. It's still weird not having Kathy there to play with us. But her kids will be there alos, so that will be fun. Have a good evening.
  6. Good Early Morning girls. Kat. I am so glad to hear your good news and I hope that it stays that way. Keep us posted on any changes. I was reading your post about shoveling snow and just couldn't muster up any sympathy for you guys, lol. We had our share of shoveling and don't want any more for the season. But the storm that is in Arizona right now is headed our way and it looks like we might be getting some snow out of it in a couple of days. Sister and I had a little blow out the other day. Didn't do any good, she still doesn't see that she is such a needy person. It's all abotu what she wants and what she needs. Not just her but her kids also. They are sucking me dry. We'll see how things go in the next few days. I've made her make a doc appointment so that they can send her to a pshyc doc. See if they can straigthen her out. Next weekend hubby and I are going to a Dude Ranch for the weekend. It's about a 2 hour drive from here and I'm really excited about it. Well, off to work. I'll check in later Have a great day.
  7. Went and saw Avatar today with hubby. Awesome movie. I really, really liked it alot. The effects were so cool. Popcorn was too much. Now I'm bloated....ugh. But had a greaat day with hubby and than sister had to go a blow it. She and her kids are draining me dry. It's an all me attitude and I'm done with it and I told her that right before I hubg up on her. She never called me back tonight but I'm sure I will be getting a call tomorrow, maybe. But I'm drained after this last week. Between just coming off with dealing with her son living with us and sucking us dry and stealing from us to her daughter calling yesterday asking for money to her demanding that I come and do things for her. Right now I fell like trading places with Kat but I wouldn't wish this on her at all.
  8. Last night my oldest nephew came over and we had a good talk about his mom and brother. It felt good to get things out. Not that it is going to help but I felt a big relief. Work this morning and than off to sisters. Seems she hurts to much to even do her laundry. She asked me to come and get it and do it for her. I told her to go down and reserve the machines and that I would be over to "Help" her do her own laundry. We have had so much fog here for the last 4 days and it is reaking havoc with peoples joints, but please. So much that you can't do your own laundry. I guess I need to have another talk with her about going to an assited living place, that seems to always wake her up and realie that she's not as bad as she thought. If we get the time I think hubby and I might go see "Avatar". Maybe. I have to go out to dinner with some friends and I'll have to see how my time goes. Everyone have a great day.
  9. Hey, Just got on here for the second time today. Another busy day of getting a few little projects done. I'm loving it. We had leftovers for dinner. Now I just need to get the kitchen cleaned up and chill for the evening. Tracy, I guess you must be pooped. We haven't moed in over 25 years. I couldn't imagine trying to pack this house. Yikes.
  10. Morning Girls, third straight morning that the fog is so thick that you can only see about 100 yards in front of you. Scary, there's been lots of accidents. Yesterday I never even turned my computer on. I did a "Me" day. I did some things that I need to get caught up on and than finished the day getting a new project started. I'm making a countec cross stitch picture for my niece's wedding. I'm so excited about it. She's getting married in Sept, so I think I should have enough time to get it done. lol. My nephew has joined the Navy. Holy Cow. I hope he knows that they don't like slackers. He has one more test to pass and than they will give him his orders. He's wanting to get into the boat mechanic part of it. I finished a quilt top for the local Project Linus group. I need to take a picture of it. It's my first one and may be my only one. I guess I'm just not a quilter. I did kind of enjoy it. Work this morning and than I need to run to Hobby Lobby and get a few things. Than I have class at church tonight. Next weekend we go on retreat with the kids. We are going to a Dude Ranch in Kansas for the weekend. I'm like "Who in their right mind would schedule a retreat in Kansas in late January at a Dude Ranch"? I hope they have a REALLY BIG Bonfire. To my Pacific Girls. Be safe in the rain. We will be getting it in a few days. Cousin is holding her own right now, which I guess is a good thing. Not really improving, just hanging in there. Have a great day.
  11. Hey ladies. Kat, Rick better watch out...lol. Isn't it nice to get treated like that. I'm loving it. People treat me so much nicer now. Last night I was so tired from such a long week. Emotionaly drained. So I drank a margarita and about an hour later I took a muscle relaxer. You would think that I would have just been put out for the night. Not so. I didn't get to bed till 12:30am and woke up at 5am. I got up and came out and fixed a hot chocolate and than fixed another one. I than fixed an english muffin. So finally around 6 am I headed back to be and the next thing I know it's after 12:30 in the afternoon. I came out and fixed another hot chocolate and crawled in my chair and stayed there and napped till it was time to go to church. I just took some aleve a little while ago because my knees are killing me. Now we are going to head out to a birthday party for a cousin of mine and we will eat dinner at the restaurant. Not only did I have to be at the hospital all week with my sister but I got a call that a cousin of mine had been in a very serious accident. I headed over to another hospital and she was in ICU. I got to be there while the Doc was there and I'm so glad. She looks like she was hit by a mack truck. She was getting ready to head out to dinner with her hubby and was coming down the stairs and I don't know what happened next but she tumbled down the stairs to the landing and broke thru the railing and fell 10 feet to the living room floor. She broke her hip, collar bone, 3 vertebrate in her neck, stitches in her head and a very bruised and swollen ear. No bleeding in the brain but it took a beating. They did surgery on her hip but she had a dieseased liver prior to this and they don't think that the liver is functioning enough to send enough blood to the hip. They are afraid it won't send enough blood and that the bone will die. They won't operate on the colar bone because they don't think the liver will survive another surgery. I'll stop there because the list goes on. Please keep Gaby in your prayers. So far she has managed to hang on this long. Doc's are not sure she will survive this. We are holding out hope. So you can see that dealing with my sister and my cousin how I can be emotionaly drained. The one good thing goiing on is that my other sister is doing her best to not be so needy right now. She has been doing things for herself because she is trying to help me out. Bless her heart. So hubby and I are off. Going to try and have a nice relaxing evening. Tracy, I hope you guys have a nice first night in you new home. Chat with you all tomorrow.
  12. Hell Yeah to Tracy. Keep up the good work. Busy all day long running my ass off. Just got home from work and putting my feet up for awhile and than to bed. Workout in the morning comes early. Hope everyone is doing good.
  13. Kat, with all that I have going I still enough hugs and prayers to send your way. Thinking of you honey.
  14. Jenn, we are having out heat wave now. It's supposed to get up to 38 today. I'm so excited. If we didn't have to work at the hospital tonight I would be grilling outside. Hubby and I just got back from the gym. Now I need to go take my shower and than I will head to the hospital and see if they now what they are going to do with Sis. I hope the will be transfering her soon. When I talked to her late last night, she said that she hadn't thrown up since I had left around 2pm. That's so good. Poor thing. Neightbor and I went to the high school basketball game last night. Her son will be graduating this year and he plays for them. So sad but they lost. Oh well, we had fun talking anyway. A big hello to everyone and I hope you all have a great day. I'll check in when I can. Need to go take my shower now. I can smell myself.
  15. A trip to florida sounds wonderfull, it's still so cold here. Got home with a little time to spare. Neighbor and I are going to her sons BB game. It's at a small school about an hour from here. I'm looking forward to spending time with her. A time for me to get some laughing in. Just wish I had time for a 5 hour nap, LOL. LOL.
  16. Jenn, Good luck in your journey. I know your a strong enough person to reach that goal. Very busy day for me today so I won't be able to check in till later today. Need to get my butt in gear and also get my head in this. I've wasted 12 days of thos new year.Just think, I could be down 5-6 pounds by now. Have a great day everyone. Kat, special prayers for you.
  17. Happy and secure....You bet Hard work....You bet Too bad they don't have one of those little warning labels on Marriage Certificates.
  18. Hi Paula, nice to meet you. Home from work, out to breakfast with friends and over to the hospital to check on Sis. It's amazing how much a person can puke who hasn't eaten in 3 days or even had anything to drink. They keep pumping her wit IV fluids, trying to keep her hydrated. Poor thing. We both managed to snooze for about 20 minutes before they came in to take more blood. Hopefully she will be home in the next day or 2. I'm not a needy person either. I don't need for hubby to tell me everyday that he loves me, but he does it anyway. We have always tried our hardest to tell each other everyday how much we love each other. But if a day goes by that we don't get it said, that's ok. We both know deep in our hearts how we feel. If something should ever happen to hubby it's not that I will need to run out and find someone to take his place. Right now I can say that I will most likely spend my days without going out and looking for someone. Not that I will die a lonely old lady. I will have my family and friends, I just don't feel that I need to replace one love with another love. If someone should happen to just come along, that would be fine. Now I'm going to rest for a little and than head back to work. I have a group coming in and I will need to show them the ropes. Have a great evening.
  19. Cindy, keeping your stepdaughter in my prayers. How horrible for her to have to suffer like that. I hope all turns out well. Kat, I bet you are so glad to have Rick back, even if he's busy doing things for everyone else. Just having him close is the whole thing. Maybe next time don't let anyone know he's back for at least one day, that way you guys can have a little you time. Here I was hoping to have a nice quiet weekend, well family has a way of making that not so. Younger sis picked this weekend to tell us that she has been lying to us for the last 4 months. Without going into it here, just suffice it to say I was not real happy about anything that happened yesterday. So today has been the suckiest eating day. Horrible doesn't even begin to tell it like it is. Does brownies for breakfast, brownies for snack, brownies for lunch sound like a winner. I gave the rest away so I will have to find out something dinner. Jenn, a retired Marine???? Semper Fi, girl.
  20. Good Afternoon. Just got home from work. We were very busy which is good, guess the snow isn't keeping people in. Tracy, I'm so happy for you guys. A new place. I haven't had a new place in over 25 years. That's how long we have lived in this house. Guess I must really like it. lol. Jenn, I am working on one of those blankets for project linus. I'm pieceing the top together. It's taking me forever to do it. I need to get it done because I have a new project that I will be starting for my niece that is getting married in Sept. All is fine here. I've been going to the gym more but most important is that I'm putting in more of an effort. Now if I can put that effort in to not putting the food in my mouth. I'll be home the rest of the day expect to go to church later. Hubby has a fire going for me, he's so sweet. We woke up this morning and the furnace had quit working during the night. It got down to 60 degrees in here. Hubby and BIL were able to get it going again. Seems there was a clog in the gas line. They just needed to take a pipecleaner to it. House is nice and warm now. Have a great day.
  21. In pic #4, I see a bunch of girls sittiing around drinking some good drinks and laughing. I'm all in for it.
  22. Kat, I am saying my prayers and will keep you in my prayers. I'm so glad that Rick is coming home. I bet you missed him alot. I know I would be lost with out mine around. Hubby and I are off to the gym and than I will head into work for a while. Not sure I will have any customers, it's just tooooo cold. It's -2 right now and the winds are howling. That's making it -25. brrrrrrrr. I'll check in later.
  23. Cindy, You are so funny but...the kids here have been out all week. With wind chills in the -20's and a ton of snow on the ground the little rug rats are at home driving the Mom's crazy. lol.
  24. Tracy, I'm so excited for you. I see a gathering of "Homeless" hopefully this Spring or even Fall. Can you repost the pic though? Thanks.
