  1. A lady that comes into workout is the President of the KC Chapter of Project Linus. She somehow talked me into piecing the tops for quilts for them. It's been kind of interesting to do.
  2. Headed out the door for the gym. Hubby was nice enough to wake me up at 6:30 so I could go with him. And it's only 3 degrees above zero. Isn't he a great guy. LOL. Be back soon.
  3. Jenn, when I come to visit we will make a trip to "The City". I have only been thru Buffalo on our way to the Falls. Kat, I so want to go with you guys. That just sounds like to much fun. Michelle. Don't know if we will be making it to your area. If it does look like it, I will give you a holler. Long day today and I'm pooped. Had just gotten settled down and was looking at my e-mail and got a message from a guy that was looking for a vaccum on Freecycle. Said he would be here about 7:30. I had to get right back up and go to the garage and bring the sweeper in and get it wiped down. I did just as the guy was pulling in the driveway. Now it's on to American Idol.
  4. Quick check in. All went fine at my physical. The only thing they didn't do was check my hearing. They said I didn''t need to do that this time. They are sending everything in to the labs so it will be a little while before I find out if they find anything. Yesterday I sewed on the quilt top. I got it ironed out and now need to make some cuts and do a little more sewing. That will make 2 quilt tops that I have made for Project Linus. Just 2 more to go and Hubby and I will have our free admission tickets to Disneyland. Jenn, I would love to come and visit you. Hopefully the following summer we can make that trip. Off to work. See ya later this evening.
  5. Yes girls, if all goes well. Hubby and I will be on the road in Sept. I already put in for 3 weeks off at work. I'm really looking forward to this. Today is a super duper busy day. I work for 3 hours and than come home to get hubby and then drive about 20 miles to go do my 3 year physical. This is the one where they test me for any contamination from the place that I used to work at. They are the ones that did the chest x-ray that showed something in my lungs. Anyway, it takes about 3-4 hours to be tested. Then back home to get ready to work this evening. Once again I traded Thursday for today with another girl. So I will be pooped when I get home tonight. Good thing about it is that I won't have to work again till Monday. A SuperBowl High??????? Tracy, by the time I get to your house, I will be exhausted from being on the road. I will definately be ready for a few Margi's by then. I hope you and Frank are up to it. Hubby is a Busch drinker. Everyone have a great day. I'll check in when I can.
  6. I'm still on my mission. Jenn, glad to hear you are feeling a little bit better. I hate that not breathing thing. It's awful when you lay down and can't breath. I drank a lot of hot cocoa this morning. 4 cups. That's more than I usually drink, but it tasted so good. I need to switch over to tea. Not so many calories. Now on to my water. I'm donating a day of volunteering for the Disney Group. I'm making blankets for Project Linus. That way when we go to L.A. we can get in free to Disneyland. Kat, we will be stopping by in mid september. We will probably spend the night at a local hotel. Hope you have a Motel 8 near. Than we will be on to Tx. and guess who I will be seeing there????? Back to my housework now. I just finished cleaning the fireplace. Got the ashes all scooped up and in the bucket. It's now sitting outside. Flue is closed and doors are shut. A cold front is coming in and I need to button down. Catch ya later.
  7. Morning Girls. I hope Tracy survived last night. We got snow but not as much as they were calling for. So far no school closings so I guess I better get dressed and head to work. lol. Hard week ahead of me. I have a fill appointment next monday and I need to step it up this week. I can do this. Everyone have a great day.
  8. Cindy, OUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  9. Wish we had a nice enough day to grill. Enjoy the fun. Not sure if I will stay up late enough to see the end of the game. I have to be at work at 6am. It's supposed to start snowing later today, so not even sure if I will be going into work. If the schools are closed than we don't open till 9am. My shift is 6-9am so you see my delimma(sp?). Right now just enjoying a clean house and a fire going.
  10. Yeah, I came home to a fire and than fell asleep in front of it. We eventually got about 3/4's of an inch of snow. Woke up and got started on making cupcake, brownies and fudge. Got all of that done and than made a big pot of chili. I fixed me a couple of tacos for lunch and than cleaned the kitchen. Now I'm back in my chair watching recorded shows and enjoying the fire. Kat, how lucky that you got those cabinets. I would love to have a laundry room. My sister in law has a great one. I have a closet in the front bathroom. There's lots of room but I would like to have room to hang things to dry and iron things. Michelle, glad to hear that your daughter doesn't have an UTI. I wonder what is causing her problems. Keeping my fingers crossed that it clears up fast and that she doesn't have to much more pain.
  11. Boy Kat, you got lucky. Just having to pour milk over cereal. Hope you idn't hurt yourself lifting the milk bottle, lol. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the antibiotics will still help out with the mass. It's still a spooky thing. Michelle, Hope your little girl gets to feeling better. That just tears at your heart when kids are sick. Slept like crap last night. Usually do when they call for snow and I don't know if I have to go into work in the morning or not. Well, of course they got the weather wrong again. They were calling for several inches this morning and right now it's just barely misting. So now I have to go into work just barely awake. Good thing is I only work 3 hours and can come home and go right back to bed. Bad thing is that I have to do some baking for our Bake Sale at Church this weekend. Last night I went to our monthly Women's Ministry meeting and they had a Taco Bar set up for us. It was really good. I love tacos could have eaten 6 of them but kept it to just one. Still need to keep myself on track. I have a fill appointment coming up on the 15th. I won't be getting a fill, right now I feel comfortable. It's just that it keeps me accountable if I know I have to go see the Doc. I know I said I feel comfortable with what restriction I have. I also still find myself pushing my band to the limit. I hate that I do that. Everyone have a great day.
  12. Up and running late. Off to get a bunch of stuff done. Have a good day and I check in later.
  13. I'm home now for about an hour. Might try to tak a quick 20 minute nap. I ate a slice of pizza and now I'm gonna munch on a few strawberries. The store had them on sail and they taste so good. Gives me a sense that spring is on it's way. They also had tulips and daffodils at the store. I'm ready for warmer weather. I will check in after I get home from the hospital.
  14. Up and showered. I didn't wake up in time to go with hubby to the gym. Oh well. On my plate for today is to get ready to go over and get Sis and take her to do her grocery shopping and than back to her place to pay her bills. Than come home and get ready for our shift at the hospital. That's about it. Maybe a few other things but in a nutshell, that's it. Still doing pretty good with my eating. I'm doing even better with my drinking. And it really helps out. I'm going to the bathroom more. Not that it's coming out any easier but I'm not constipated. Sorry about that. I hope everyone has a great day.
  15. All by myself, Don't wanna be All by myself anymore.
  16. For some reason, I can not get warm today and I ache in my knees and hips. It's awful. The sun finally has come out and I'm loving it. It's always nice to see it. Makes me long to be floating in the pool aand enjoying the sun on my skin. I'm gonna leave here soon and go wash the car. Sure will be nice to see out the back window again. Then it's off to work for a 4 hour shift. I'll take my cottage cheese and pineapple with me so I can eat dinner there. I have found that I just can't eat dinner after 7pm. If I do than I'm up several times during the night downing Rolaids. No matter what I eat. Even if I take my meds late than I'm doing the Rolaid thing. Hope everyone is doing good.
  17. Hey girls. Long day yesterday and another long one today. I'm working a double shift. I normally work Thursday night and a girl wanted to know if she could work it for me. I told that it would be ok and than she asked if I would take her Tuesday night so she could go to her daughters school. Yup, I'll do it. Than I have 2 days in a row off. I hope "Phil" says that this winter is almost over with. Jenn, you know you need to take it nice and slow with any relationship. If it is meant to be, it will. Don't get hurt again. Supposed to get up to about 39 today. I may take the car and get it washed. It's all gooky on the back and I can hardly see out the back window. Have a great day.
  18. Kat, light at the end of the tunnel. How exciting for you guys. i used your example to explain to my other nephew to nt sign off on his almost x-wife's divorce. She is pregnant by another guy but our State says that you can not divorce a pregnant women. She wants him to sign the birth certificate and than they will do a paternity test for the divorce. UMMMMM NOOOOO...... I got right in his face and told him that. He said that the birth certificate needed a father on it and I told him No that it did not and if it actually did need a name, that he was to give them the other guys name. Holy cow. It's cold and damp here again today. I'm really getting tired of this but now that an end is it sight. Let's see what Puxatawney Phil says tomorrow. I hope he says 2 weeks till Spring, lol.
  19. Morning. We survived our weekend and it was great. OMG, this place was amazing. I wish I could describe it and do it justice. Just take my word that it was awesome and who ever designed it had a feel for the old west bunkhouses(but with comforts for us old folks, lol). The kids were great and stayed safe. We had some amazing sessions with them. Saturday was bitterly cold but the sun was shining so we took off and hiked for a couple of hours. We walked almost every inch of the property and never once saw the horses. They were hiding form us, so no one got to go riding. That was ok because we spent a lot of time in conversations with the teen and that was what we were there for. Got a frantic call Friday night while we were there. Tehy were putting my cousin on dialysis because her kidneys were shutting down. They told me that if her kidneys didn't get to functioning soon that she would die before long. So yesterday we got home and I unpacked and than headed to the hospital. I got there and didn't realize that ICU was shut down to family and friends from 2-4pm. But they were so nice and allowed me in to talk to Gabby. Turned out that the nurse and I had a common friend. Anyway Gabby looked better than I had seen her last week. The nurse explained that the dialysis was taking alot of fluid off of her and that was why she didn't look so swollen. They did say that it was real scary there for awhile but right now they are holding out hope that she could still pull out oof this. Bobby even went home and pulled out a funeral outfit for her. That how close it came. Ok, I need to go in and get my hair dried and get dressed ofr work. I'll be back later today.
  20. Back from working out. I hate having a pulled muscle. Makes working out suck. Like it doesn't already suck enough. Tracy, I have never watched Survivor or Biggest Loser. So I won't be able to chat with you about who is who and who is doing who and what. LOL. I hear people talk about the shows so that is how I keep up with everyone. Kat, you hanging in there?
  21. Getting ready to head to the gym. it's 17 degrees out with a wind chill of 3 degrees Oh My. We are headed to the Ranch this afternoon and I'm really looking forward to it. It may be cold bit I'm sure the kids will keep us busy enough to where we don't notice it. I hope. Found out last night that my cousins kidneys are failing. I'm hoping we have enought time today to get to the hospital before we leave. Poor thing has hung on now for 3 1/2 weeks. She has fought hard but I think her body is just too tired now. Keep her in your prayers. I'll check in later
  22. Busy day here today. Baking and getting things ready for this weekend. We leave tomorrow after the kids all get out of school. And to top it off, they are calling for snow. OMG. Tomorrow I will pack our suitcase and finish up on a few other things. I need to get some games together. Skipbo and a few others. I had another really good eating day. I did step on the scale this morning and was very pleased at what I saw. It will be hard this weekend but I plan to keep myself extra busy with the kids. My next fill appointment is on the 16th. I'm hoping to lose about 8 more pounds by than. Keeping my fingers crossed. Laura, good luck with the party plans and I'm sorry about the job. I bet that really hurt your feelings.
  23. Just got home from the gym. I had another good eating day yesterday but I was a little short on my water intake. I need to step it up. Monday night at class, the kids were "who made the brownies"? So, guess who is making brownies for the trip this weekend. I also told them I would make some oatmeal chocolate chip cookies. Lucky me. Good thing they will be eating all of them. Have a great day.
  24. "Partying Cajuns". Now that is something I would like to be a part of. Drink till you  Kat, that is just too sad. Those people in Haiti didn't deserve it anymore than the people in earthquakes in L.A. or any place else. How truly sad a life she has.
  25. Good Morning. Day one and I made it. And I actually got in almost 100 ounces of water. Wasn't easy but I did it. I found myself starting to worry about Wed. and Thurs. and had to tell myself to not think about it. That I wasn't going to worry about what I was going to eat till that day and than I would deal with it. It's not easy. Still not sure who I'm rooting for in the Superbowl. Maybe I should ask Tracy her opinion????????LOL.
