  1. Sending you positive vibes, and hoping your surgery goes smooth as silk!!!! See you on the other side!!! :-)
  2. 8 lbs to go! SN..............Starting Wt........Current.......Goal.......Lbs to Goal Lila.......................259...............238............230................8
  3. That sounds very frustrating. I know that I get the best restriction when I am eating mostly protein. I would suggest trying to stick to protein as much as possible. It should give you better restriction, and it should also help with the insulin resistance. Also, definitely talk to your surgeon if you can and find out what size bougie he used.
  4. Hey there! Don't worry about asking questions... EVERYONE has a million questions before surgery and everyone is scared! Regarding the food I can eat. So far, there hasn't been anything I can't tolerate. There are a few things that go down better if there is sauce to make it more juicy. For example, when I eat chicken I usually make a yogurt sauce to dip it in. I also sometimes make Soup, and I eat the broth first, and wait a little bit before eating the solids--chicken is pretty tender when you cook it this way. As to your question about the number of calories, I'm not sure. The lowest I ever went before surgery was 1200 calories. Maybe your surgeon can give you some advice on this one.... As to the liquid diet, I had no problem with it, other than getting really bored and craving something savory. I ate a lot of Protein drinks and prayed for the mushy phase :-). I'm sure you could probably drink a latte (although we were told to stay away from caffeine early out, so I'd go with a decaffeinated latte maybe :-))I hope that helps! If it makes you feel any better, none of the things I was afraid of happened. I've had a really easy experience, and my restriction has been good, but I haven't had any of the typical problems that bandsters have like sliming, vomiting, and feeling stuck.... I hope that helps! Best of luck to you!
  5. I am so glad you are feeling better! You should be very proud of your accomplishment! I think sometimes we get scared that we aren't going to lose all of our weight when we aren't losing quickly or when we hit a stall, but just trust that you are doing just fine!!!! :-)
  6. Wow, I'm so sorry you are going through this! I hope you keep working with a psychiatrist to find the right medications for you. I've heard that finding the right combination can take some time, so if your first try isn't working, you can definitely try another!! Also, please don't beat yourself up. You are suffering enough without adding shame and blame to the situation. I'm sure if you could have avoided the situation you are in, you would have. Please have some compassion for yourself! Sending you big cyber hugs!
  7. 9 lbs to go! SN..............Starting Wt........Current.......Goal.......Lbs to Goal Lila.......................259...............239 ............230................9
  8. This story reminds me of this experience I had in college when I was a foreign exchange student. I lived in Paris in a house with a French couple and their cute kid. However the father was a real douchebag. When his wife was out of town, he would invite his friends over and they would get drunk and make denigrating remarks about us (me and the other foreign exchange student) in French.... as though we couldn't understand! Which is really stupid considering that we were there to study the language! It was awful, humiliating, and infuriating, and I'll never forget it. The guy was in his 30s and he was going out of his way to insult 18 year old kids. Now that I'm older, I just think he must have been so pathetic to pick on kids that way. I think anything that can be done to bring down general douchebaggery should be done! I like AutumnLily's suggestion!!! Bring him down a notch or two!
  9. Oh, I'm so sorry to hear this, and so sorry to hear that you have to wait until Monday to get some resolution. I do know that someone here had a problem with slow emptying, but I'm not sure how they fixed it. I am sending you big hugs, and I hope your family takes good care of you until you can see your surgeon!
  10. Many congratulations on your success!!! It's great to hear how good you are feeling!
  11. So, I ran into this thread a little while back, and at the time I was walking for exercise. Since then, I've moved on to the elliptical trainer and exercise classes, and OMG, my hunger is soooo much more now!!! I can't believe how hungry I've been! I'll just stick to my program, etc, but I am a little bummed to be getting so hungry!!! I'm hoping that my body is just adjusting to the increased exercise....
  12. Totally agree with you on all fronts. It's maddening.
  13. will she make it???!!! SN..............Starting Wt........Current.......Goal.......Lbs to Goal Lila.......................259...............241 ............230................11
  14. I burped like crazy during the liquid srage, It went away, I think after a few weeks. It didn't last too long! Just take solace in knowing it'll get better! One thing that I did which helped was I let my Protein shakes sit for a while before drinking them. It helped to bring the burps down!
  15. I just tried the breakfast bites! Love them! Two of them are 7 grams of protein. Yums!
  16. Wow, it's getting close, I'm going to double up my workouts and pray to the weight loss gods! SN..............Starting Wt........Current.......Goal.......Lbs to Goal Lila.......................259...............242 ............230................12
  17. Today it is: B- Protein shake L- Grilled chicken dipped in yogurt (only way i can get it down) D- grilled peppers and veggie sausage (i know, sounds awful, but it's good!) Snack- cheese stick Vites- gone water- working on it Exercise- gym after work
  18. I was off for 3 weeks, but I could easily have gone back after 12 days. It's so different for everyone, though. It also depends on what kind of work you do. I sit at a desk all day, so it was pretty easy for me :-)
  19. Her high protein pancakes also rule!!! So yummy! High protein, low carb, what's not to love?
  20. Oh, I'm so sorry to hear it. That's a lot of emotional and physical stress all at once! I hope you can take some time to take care of yourself! Sending you lots of hugs!
  21. Oh no! You too? Sorry to hear it! I tell ya, I am starting meditation before I hurt someone! Hoping this passes when my weight stabilizes! Still, that's probably a year away....
  22. Hey there Mommie Tawnie, I'm sorry you feel ignored. Honestly, I think getting your questions answered is just luck of the draw. Some days I post a question and get 20 answers, sometimes I get one. It just depends on who is logged on, and if your questions get bumped from the top of the queue behind a more recent question. Don't take it personally!! At any rate, I think there are some great suggestions above. For me, changing up my exercise seems to work best! Hope you get past your stall SOON!!! I know how frustrating they can be!!! Best of luck!
  23. Ha, that's exactly how I think the people around me feel! If this were a different era, we'd be locked in the attic for sure! Thanks for the suggestion on meditation, Tiff! I've been thinking about trying it, and now you've really got me thinking it might help! I'll give it a shot.
  24. Aw, thanks, Coops! I am really excited and happy with my sleeve, I just need to get these hormones under control! If I learn anything good, I will pass it your way! :-)
  25. Wow, you are looking so great! I think you look a bit younger, too!!! I can't wait to hit those milestones!!! Keep up the GREAT work!!!
