When I went for my surgery, I wish I brought/had......?
Most people bring way too much, use the search feature to look for "what to bring" posts, there are quite a few lists folks have posted with what they brought, what was useful, what wasn't, etc.

What are your basic instructions progressing to weigh maintenance ?
I eat whatever I want. I'm still in the "loss" phase, but I still eat whatever I want to that doesn't cause any issues. I avoid added and unnatural sugars, I avoid white breads, but I don't not eat them ever. I focus on the protein and veggies first, but I still eat other things.

On the Subject of New Clothes....
I'm just the opposite at this point, I used to LOATH shopping for clothes. Now, it's just fun. I almost cried when went to Kohls and bought something off the rack without trying it on and knew it would fit without any concern at all. Now, my main complaint is that I need to keep buying more clothes because it's like every other month the clothes I bought become too big!

Being sick after RNY?
Haven't had any issues with any medications post op (other than not taking NSAIDS)

Skin removal before losing my insurance. When did y’all consider it?
It's going to all depend on the requirements for the removal. Each insurance is different, some don't cover it at all, others only cover it after a set amount of time AND a history of problems that would not clear up with standard treatments. Mine, I have to be at a stable weight for either 1 or 2 years AND have documented, photographed evidence of skin issues on the excess skin, and even then, they only cover certain areas of the body. Check into intermittent fasting, it's REALLY helped me out.

First round of labs?
First post op labs were at 3 months. Then 6, then 9. No surprises really, just pleased with the results from the patches I'm using for my vitamins. All levels were within normal ranges at both my 3 and 6 month post-op follow ups.

Weird muscle pain?
How much weight have you lost? People tend to forget that fat doesn't reside only subdermally, we've got Visceral fat as well. Visceral fat protects muscles, bone, tendons, etc. So when we lose a lot of weight, we lose Visceral fat as well, this tends to cause some "slack" around the areas of greater loss, this can lead to pain due to lose joints. Working the muscles groups around problematic joints can help tighten everything up, I had some pretty noticeable issues with my hips, and I found out I've got spinal arthritis, didn't know until the fat stopped protecting the nerves, I can feel it now though! With your rump, does it only hurt when sitting on something hard? Don't forget that you are losing a lot of "padding". Stretching and targeted work outs can help get everything back into place.

Too much thirsty
Drinking "a lot" isn't the problem, drinking too fast is. Slow down a bit, if you are drinking too quickly and causing pain... that needs to stop ASAP. Pain = Bad. Slow down and let the fluids drain. You should be getting upwards of 128oz of water, but it shouldn't hurt to do so.

This is where you can educate them, because clearly they don't know wtf they are talking about.

Waist Trainers
Literally ANY compression gear, don't bother spending a lot on popular brand names, walmart/target/amazon all have good, inexpensive compression gear. Don't confuse compression gear with waist trainers, waist trainers are usually for corset and hourglass figure "training" and are not for "holding in sagging skin". https://www.hourglassangel.com/what-is-waist-training/

Girls Do Poop
It's more a courtesy thing for those of us that have to poo at work or where it's just not cool to gas bomb a whole area.

I’m SCARED!! Stalling after 1 month Post-op?!?
First... relax. Second, use the search feature to search for "Stalls" They happen very often, it's normal, BREATHE! Stop freaking out, just follow your diet plan and don't stress. Make sure you are getting upwards of 128oz of water (yes that much, it's important) and if they didn't tell you, typically band revisions don't lose as fast or as much as those that haven't been revised. And for your own sanity. DO NOT COMPARE YOURSELF TO OTHERS... no one is going to lose the same way you do, so don't even open that can of worms.

Thanks, had to buy new "professional" stuff to attend court. The stuff I bought for the interview I had a few months ago were already way too big LOL

Spartan Whey has landed at the BariatricPal Store!
Those with lactose issues are going to want to maybe stay away, given the "protein concentrate" portion of the ingredients. Otherwise, looks decent from the panel anyway.

So... I guess I'm *Technically* 100 lbs lighter than my pre-op check in weight. 310 March 2nd, 210 (.9) Oct 19th. YAY! Really IF has carried me much farther than I could have ever hoped!
