sascmed314 got a reaction from Caryguy in Surgeons in North Carolina
I'm a patient of Dr. Bruce. He works with Dr. Tyner and Dr. Enochs in Cary, and also in Burlington. Great surgeon, always takes great care of the patients on our floor (we have all the bariatric surgery patients on our floor).

I could have written this post, word for word. I'm having my surgery the 28th of this month and I'm having a lot of the same feelings as you are. This whole thing is not nudging, but SHOVING me out of my comfort zone, and being a creature of habit and liking my routine and such, it's an uncomfortable process.

    sascmed314 got a reaction from MK1986 in 6 Months Of Waiting :(
I know it probably seems like forever to wait right now, because I felt the same way, but for me it FLEW! One minute it's December and I'm thinking I will never be done, and next thing I know I'm at my last visit and a few days later paperwork was submitted to the insurance company. Then I had to wait for the actual surgery date since I had a required summer class till July, but that flew too. Just really focus these 6 months on changing some habits and renewing your relationship with food. It's a lot to wrap your head around.

Oh thank you thank you thank you! You give me hope for what life will be like after surgery with regards to food. I so needed to read something like this right about now.

It depends on your individual plan. My UHC plan did require a 6 month physician supervised diet, whether that was with my PCP, a NUT, or some other doctor was up to me. Call the insurance company to find out specific requirements for your employers plan.

Thank y'all so much. I have to admit that at 51 years old things are not nearly as flabby and saggy as I thought they would be. LOL

Those people are dead and therefore, cannot post.
Are you saing we should just ignore our doctor's plan because other people tried it and didn't die?

Part of the problem is how some people resort to hyperbole in criticizing how others are eating. I had started a thread last week about how I drank a little bit of flat, watered down, caffeine free Diet Coke and you'd have thought I had eaten live babies. People were outraged and all I did was say how I was amazed how it made me feel better to be just a little normal again. But I was told I was going to cause a leak, ruin my weight loss, etc., all over a few ounces of soda.
Yet when I started another thread asking if anyone had actually gotten a leak from making poor eating choices, you could hear crickets chirping.
It's become the equivalent of "your face is going to freeze that way."
People need to stop acting like they know everything and know what's right for strangers on an Internet message board. They don't. Only your doctor and nutritionist know what's best for you. The lesson to be learned is, if you have a question, call the doctor, don't look for a reasonable dialogue here because it's not going to happen. I'm almost 3 weeks out and spoke with my doc and nut about how I've had no problems getting anything down, no vomiting, no reflux, but I'm having trouble dealing with puréed food because it's just too gross. They said to move on to softs and just chew well. If I had asked people about that here, my head would have been chewed, rather puréed, off.
People should just say, "if you have a question, call your doctor, but I did ____ when I was in your situation." I'm not sure why that's so hard to do.

I had mine with the gallbladder also worked by a sculptor and glossed over with a shiny gold metallic paint. It's mounted over the fireplace.
