  1. I have been trying to, some I have seen other places on the board and added them, some I have seen dates change or the surgery moved to September. I will go back to my last update and go through it again - I had posted to make sure to copy the one right above your post but it isn't helping It would be best if whoever started the thread can update their list at the top? so we can have just one list?
  2. First off, how long does the gallbladder ultrasound take? I am scheduled at 7:15 tomorrow for it. Next, let me tell you, after the first few months of high weight loss, the weight loss I see others sharing is something I could EASILY acheive in my weight watchers days - but I couldn't keep it off! I am using this surgery as a TOOL to help me keep it off too! You still have to change your way of eating and be more active - same as if you did it "naturally." But the sleeve gives you the ability to stay on track easier, not cheat to the extreme. That's my thought on it anyway!
  3. I am craving meat! cheese! anything NOT sweet!! having some chicken broth...ugh
  4. I don't have my time yet but will be there the 8th too! I go for all my final stuff the 5th, except my gallbadder ultrasound which is tomorrow
  5. I'm right there with you! Thankfully I can have veggies too but it is boring already!
  6. ooo steak porn! LOL I cooked hamburger helper for my husband tonight and really just wanted to taste it!!!
  7. Make sure to copy the schedule right before your post to insure it includes everyone! We have had a few dates change within the month as well as some moving to September so I have been trying to keep up with changes I see throughout the board! Remember if you see a new August Sleever tell them about our little forum! 8. Is this a dietitian your surgeon uses often? My dietitian is part of my whole program, specifically for bariatric surgery. I had to see my Dr each month for 6 months and each month we talked about what I was doing (weight watchers and walking) - I lost 21 lbs in that time. Also want to mention that there are great online trackers that are simple, some even have phone apps - and all the foods are in there! myfitnesspal.com and weight watchers both do. You really need to take the time now to track, even if it is just for a few days in the beginning because it will help you get used to portion control and being more conscious of what you eat. If you don't have time now, how will you do it after surgery?
  9. not drinking around meals is drilled in to us multiple times during my program - I have had 3 nutrition classes and 3 nutritionist visits and all of them say it over and over - not to mention it is all over our manual! I am pre-op and it's not something I have tried to practice, I am pretty sure I will be one who has to set an alarm to remind myself LOL
  10. I have to laugh - I always find myself thinking pound instead of cup and really have to watch myself when cooking!! 16 oz is a pound - 8 oz is a cup
  11. a little disappointed in the unflavored - someone said it wasn't bad in crystal light so I tried it - I think I would rather have a regular shake and get more protein!! Has anyone found anything where unflavored is near undetectable?
  12. make sure to click on August All-Stars in my signature and add yourself to August surgery list!!
  13. you are ROCKIN that sleeve! Walk away from the beer and candy - save it for special occasions!!
  14. Make sure to click on August All-stars in my signature and add you surgery date! We have a great month filing up!!
  15. AUGUST!!! 1 BigSexxy, MamaMcKinzie, heygirlfriendB 2 brookb, MissBliss, Gaylebco 3 zetagirl210 4 Julie76, chelle622, skyblew 5 6 7 8 SunnyinSD, Ladybug86, MeMeMEEE, Kayla 9 Wondering1, nurselisa22, LindaS 10 Indymom 11 Jimmy James, missjanab, PhatGurl80 12 Ms.girl 13 14 15 Treequeen,WyomingMountainGal 16 Miss Hope 17 18 19 20 21 22 JELLYBEANS, pamblan, blkhulagirl, mimimermaid, nurseteela 23 24 KristeyK, KristinaRN, Intime, Kami 25 26 27 28 29 eyemallrt 30 Lisha, CT Fats 31
  16. I'm here to say YES also!! My date is August 8th so I started my pre-op diet today - and survived! LOL I am hoping the time flies!!!
  17. Main thing I would say is this - you NEED to stick to it because after the sleeve? You HAVE to change your habits! My NUT told me this is how they know if someone can stick with a strict plan, we have to not only be approved by insurance and our Dr in my program but all of those involved in the program meet and decide if we are a good candidate! Sticking with it may help you avoid additional classes or NUT visits or psych visits in the long run as well! I did weight watchers 5 of my 6 months, I lost 21 lbs and I did cheat here and there but I showed them I can stick with it! If I had really tried I would be down 30-35 instead of 21 but I tried not to stress too much on it, stuck with it 5-6 days a week and even on the days I didn't I enjoyed what I wanted in smaller portions. That's just my thoughts - hope it helps!!
  18. it is to shrink your liver before surgery - my understanding is livers can be very fatty and get in the way during the surgery - harder for the surgeon to move out of the way and you DO NOT want you liver nicked!! I have heard some people say their doctor doesn't require it because they have already lost a lot of weight before surgery - my Dr seems to require it of everyone, my diet is very low fat for 2 weeks even though I have been doing weight watchers since March, losing 21 lbs already. So I would say if all liquids would bother you, still just be conscious of your fat intake during the time before your surgery.
  19. Ps. Make sure to click on August All-Stars in my signature and visit the August 2011 forum!! We have a list of everyone's dates too!!
  20. me too!! YAY!!! I hope this two weeks flies by! I know the 10 days since I got my date has!!
  21. I have heard people mix it in to pudding, jello, yogurt, soups - but also have heard people add in vanilla in many sweet things also. I know for me it isn't so much the TASTE but the SMELL! I have to drink it from a cup with a lid! Have you tried that?
  22. Is anyone going to track during pre-op? I set myfitnesspal to the limits my NUT gave 1000 calories, 115 protein and 125 carbs. Let's see what happens!! If anyone wants to be my friend on there let me know!!
  23. Ruby I looked at some Jay Robb at our Kroger and it confused me - I don't remember how it was worded but whey Protein isolate wasn't the first ingredient so I walked away - I am so afraid of buying the wrong thing!! Someone on a facebook group suggested unflavored with crystal light so I think I will be trying that, wouldn't it be nice if it was something I could drink all day??
  24. I have been considering it too and just can't do it for the price. I would love having the ease of just cleaning the the blade and then being able to use it again but it seems like the price just isn't worth it. I have seen then little Hamilton Beach mentioned above at our walmart for $12 - it is tiny and would work great because our counter is so small but the blade is in the glass like a normal blender so you would still need to wash it each time you used it. I'm still undecided.
