  1. It takes a while to get up to being able to drink the required amount. I am 5 weeks out and still working to get it all in. If you are peeing and it isn't dark in color, you are ok.
  2. He didn't say what was too high.
  3. Dr called me. He said this is fairly common and it is a reaction to the surgery. He said my body is basically "whacked out" (my words, not his) and it will regulate itself, but to keep an eye on it. He said if I wanted to come in for peace of mind, he would be glad to see me.
  4. So I was at my parents over the weekend and my mom wants to test my blood sugar. It was like 177 - which is really high. So I decided to buy a meter and keep track of it just to determine if it was a 1 time fluke thing or a problem. I tested first thing this morning before I ate and it was 292!!!! I am eating next to 0 sugar & very low carbs. I keep track through MFP and I printed off the reports. I have a call in to my dr to see what he wants me to do. I googled and see that if your body has excess Protein (which is ALL I eat), it can turn it into sugar. I wasn't diabetic prior to surgery(although I had borderline high BS numbers at my highest weight) and I have dropped almost 50 lbs! Anyone have experience with this? Am I a freak of nature that will develop diabetes AFTER I lose weight? Freaking out over here..
  5. Yes! Guess you have met them! My mom will be there with them. I am glad you got to "meet" them so at least you all will know someone there! How exciting!
  6. My brother and sister in law will be getting sleeved the same day by Dr Garcia!! And I wouldn't "pig out", but if you are still able to eat, I would definitely have a taste. Hopefully you will get to meet my brother and SIL. Good luck to you!
  7. I was never in much pain. On the 1-10 scale, I think I only got to a 5 - and that was just sore muscle type pain. My biggest complaint was the way they had me in the bed was really hurting my back, but that had nothing to do with surgery. You can expect discomfort. If you are in pain, they can give you meds for that. Good luck!
  8. Nope! Was completely off by day 4. Could have been sooner, but I was scared it would hurt if I didn't take them. LOL
  9. Are you on blood pressure meds? Maybe you don't need them anymore.
  10. I was sleeved the day before you! Glad you are doing well. My dr says I can have canned chicken now, but regular chicken at 2 months. Red meat I have to wait until 6 months. A lot of dr's allow meat sooner though. Check with your nutritionist or dr.
  11. Beans, not peas. I think peas come later because of their carb content..
  12. It is on my mushy diet. Was able to have them at 1 week out.
  13. Mine was laproscopic too. I woke up from surgery wearing one.
  14. The spices in the pizza could have irritated your esophagus and stomach. Best to stay completely away from that until you are cleared to eat it. I did it this weekend with chicken. I was miserable! Live and learn.
  15. I am 4 weeks out and still wear mine. I love it!
  16. I am 4 weeks out. My post op diet plan doesn't mention cereal. When were you allowed it?
  17. Orange juice & vanilla protein powder.. Tastes like an Orange Julius or a push pop.
  18. I did have a couple bites of chicken yesterday - it was moist/roasted, but I am technically not supposed to have that for another couple of weeks. Maybe I just irritated it??
  19. I am taking a PPI twice a day. I have been feeling this since yesterday. It honestly feels like gas, but I have taken gasx and it isn't going away. I have been drinking some hot decaf tea and it seems to be helping..
  20. I Am so paranoid about a leak. Tomorrow I will be 4 weeks post op. Since yesterday I have felt bloated and had a crampy like feeling (middle of stomach and around to my back). This morning I took a drink of crystal lite and spent the next couple of minutes heaving over the toilet. I don't have a fever. So, in your "professional" opinions, does this sound like a leak or a virus or what??

  22. I was borderline prior to surgery. I just assumed that it would go down quickly.
