  1. I am in the same boat.. liquid diet starts Tuesday - surgery on April 10! We can do this. I would imagine cheating one time would be a slippery slope (for me anyway) and I would convince myself I could do it again. Fix yourself a nice big protien drink and take it to the party with you. Good luck!
  2. Dr says I need an EGD. He said they don't put you totally out, but that I won't know what is going on. Please tell me I am not going to know they are jamming a scope down my throat!!! Did you know what was going on??
  3. I can't answer your questions (not yet sleeved), but just wanted to say congratulations on losing 100 lbs!!! That is amazing!
  4. Mine is April 10! We will be ok!!! So excited!
  5. I found a great way to do the Protein shake.. Mix a sugar free carnation instant Breakfast chocolate packet (5g) with 1 scoop unjury unflavored Protein powder (20g) and 1.5 cups skim milk (13g) = 38g protein. It tastes like chocolate milk. Very good!! You could use 1 cup of milk for 8g which would lower it to 33g protein, but I wanted it a little thinner.

  7. I keep seeing where people had a drain in for a couple days after surgery. A friend of mine had it done and didn't have a drain. Is it more common to have one? For some reason, the thought of having drains freaks me out!!
  8. That sounds great! Thanks!
  9. Oh good call on the Ramen seasonings! I like the way that broth tastes. Thanks!
  10. I don't like canned/boxed broth and was wondering if anyone could give me a good recipe for homemade broth. I want to stock my freezer before my surgery!
  11. Ha - I was thinking there was no way it could be as painful as a C-section. LOL
  12. Is the surgery recovery similar to a c-section, pain-wise? ~Angie~
  13. I am 34, so I am hoping my "young skin" will be able to bounce back. Thanks for the replies!
  14. If not - what did you do (if anything) to prevent sagging and loose skin? I am worried about how much loose skin will be there after I lose weight. I am about 250ish right now..
  15. Hey - I am starting my sleeve journey. I am doing my 6 month insurance required waiting period right now. I should have surgery sometime in April or early May. I am so nervous!! I am about 255 right now and cannot wait to start my new life. I started out researching the LapBand, but after about a month of being totally convinced that is what I was going to do, I decided to look into the sleeve. My mind was changed quickly after reading all the stories of people having to switch to the sleeve from the band!! I have 2 kids - 10 & 7 and I NEED to be healthy for them (and me too!). I have been reading this site and just wanted to introduce myself! ~Angie~
  16. What kind of protien shakes/powder do you all like?
  17. Thanks for the info! I will check out your site.
  18. I have an office job - very little activity. How long should I expect to be off work? Thanks!
  19. I haven't been banded yet (going for my seminar tonight), but was wondering what a normal day of eating is like for you?? How much are you able to eat at a time? thanks!
