Need advice
Sounds like you're too tight Stress can trigger sudden tightness of the band Maybe call your insurance and get your policy # and give that to your doc instead of waiting for the card to come in. When it arrives then just fax it to your doc's office

Fitbit....
1) Is there a similar device that also monitors heart rate? 2) how does it really really track activity level?? If I bike 100km how can it know that i'm biking?

What to take for general aches and pains?
Same like Missy I take everything the same as before surgery But ask your doctor because some don't like when their patients take ibuprofen
-
How long should i take off work???
I was perfectly fine 2 days after surgery But it really depends on age, comorbidities, and overall health of the patient. A week should be more than enough even if you are not a "fast healer"

What's your soft stop?

Plication
It's when they fold your stomach in via stapling which reduces it's capacity it can be done with a lapband but is a bit more invasive Not a lot of research available on it yet, which is why some insurance's won't cover it. (but the preliminary reports show low risks/high success) I did not do it, because when asking my doctor he said "a lapband surgery is like a 4 on a scale of 1-10 of invasiveness, but with the plication it raises it to a 6-7" So I decided against it

Getting over your weight loss plateau
Switch things up a bit... whether it's your workout routine or your eating habits I have found that carb cycling has worked wonders (there is a whole topic on here about it if you search)

Start Liquid diet tomorrow please help
Just drink and drink! It's hard, I know but don't even think of cheating! You will only feel guilty and it will hurt your self esteem in the long run Good luck sister!

Frustrated with Fills. What is normal?
1) I think your doctor sees your progress and that you're doing so well and therefore doesn't feel the need to be aggressive with your fills (great job on your loss btw!) 2) Or maybe he doesn't want to overfill you since you already once had an issue

Even after losing weight. Why do i still look and feel fat?
I feel the same way Ironically I feel the like I weigh 1000 lbs on the days that I pigged out and feel better when I eat well (even if on the scale my weight didn't change at all on each of those days), In general the more weight I lose the more I stare at myself in the mirror and see my flaws (blub rolls, chubby cheeks, dark circles under my eyes etc.) whereas when I was morbidly obese I never noticed since I avoided mirrors altogether

Nice! better start stocking up on suspenders!

Stuck or too much?
For me personally, when i'm stuck boy do I feel it! There is never a question in my mind... But if you're not sure, sip some cold Water and pay attention as it goes down. You should be able to feel it going down if you're not stuck. If you ARE stuck, the water will sit in the back of your throat. If you're stuck you must get an immediate unfill, as tyou don't wanna stretch your stoma

anyone here did/is doing the couch to 5k program?
Just finished week four!! I NEVER thought I could ever run for 5 mins without stopping! Is it ok if I jog very slowly only at 4.0 mph? Or do I need to pick up the pace?

Biotin
I take 5000mg of Biotin I think I remember my doc saying that since Biotin is water soluble if we take too much it will just be excreted into urine and not poison us

So Frustrated!
Better board the chew chew train!! And Also remember not to take bites bigger than a fingernail. Sounds crazy, I know, but once you get used to it, it will become second nature

Can't seem to loose anymore weight
wow, i feel the exact same way! Was banded in august and have lost about 50 lbs and recently gained back a few. Today I went for a fill and hope that will help, since I have plateaued for over a month  Anyhow, I definetly think you should try carb cycling to break out of this funk (there is a there is a topic about it here and many people have had big success with it.) Just keep exercising and following your dietary rules and you'll eventually lose more

A little info from the veterans plz....
Actually not every doctor has issues with carbonation. Many doctors in Great Britain and Australia have no issues with drinking carbonation as long as it has zero calories. My doctor told me not to worry about cutting out carbonated drinks (even when I asked him over and over again since everyone on here seemed to be told otherwise) That being said, i have practically stopped drinking soda altogether (only on rare occasions do I drink it) because it's just not healthy especially because its loaded with artificial sweeteners/chemicals

A little info from the veterans plz....
Everybody reacts to the surgery differently, but for me (I was banded in August and have had a couple of fills, including one just today), I can eat anything as long as I don't eat recklessly. When I'm cautious and I make sure my meats/chickens are semi-soft, and I eat small bites and chew I'm good to go

what should I take to the hospital
For me as well, my hospital stay was a mere few hours so I didn't really need much. Maybe bring a comfy pair of slippers for when they make you walk around after surgery

Smaller port/replacement
I too, have heard of this. Why do you want to get it replaced? Does it stick out and look crazy? I read somewhere on here that someone's port got detached (she lost weight and it was popping out like crazy and moving under her skin) I think she said insurance covered it and she was gonna do it under "twilight" anesthesia and not go fully under, but in the end she did...
