  1. my doc has no issues with sugar free carbonation. i guess im in the minority of ppl who are allowed soda however i have given it up anyways. it's just way to unhealthy
  2. What was the original post?
  3. SO true! If your head is not completely into it then it just wont work. It takes 100% commitment and devotion
  4. There is Dr. Ervin Denham up north, and Dr. Vafa Shayani down in the southern suburbs. Both are good docs from what I hear...
  5. WOW Just finished week two and by the 3rd day, running 90 seconds was a breeze! Can't wait to start week 3 tomorrow! Trying to load a good app on my ipod or phone to help me keep track while I run....
  6. WOW!! Just wow!!! You guys are awesome!!!
  7. AWESOME!!!! This was such a wonderful post to read Now please share some tips of your success!!!
  8. For what it's worth I am nowhere restriction. But it's OK because I'm still managing to lose. over 50 lbs in 6 months. This weds I will go in for another fill Don't worry, it takes time. Someone once posted that it took a year to get to the green zone. Just keep following the rules and you will see results.
  9. Big deal if they don't believe you You don't owe them anything. Health is a very private and confidential topic
  10. Ouch that's rough! Getting stuck xan aggravate the band and cause swelling (or tightness) for the next day or so Also getting stuck too often can cause us to throw up or PB which is associated with higher risks of a slipped band
  11. Very glad to hear that your doc and mine have similar views on soda drinking. I was beginning to feel lonely being the only one allowed to drink carbonation!
  12. Weight loss DOES take time! I know it's frustrating but 1) you MAY be losing fat but building muscle which would make sense since you're exercising so much 2) Our bodies don't steadily shed fat in normal even ammounts. You might stay the same weight for a few weeks and then "poof" one morning youre down 2.5 lbs Weight loss is not steady or predictable, but if your'e doing your part and following the rules then you don't have to worry about the scale
  13. I agree with the others that your sweet spot may be a mere .25 cc's away from where you are now. When you drink all that water in the docs office are you sipping it or gulping it? I wouldn't leave until I can easily gulp down a whole glass of water with zest!
  14. Ditto to what Missy has advised. And take VERY tiny bites. That will ensure that even if you swallow too quickly by accident without chewing enough, at least the amount and size of food going down is tolerable. Btw, how did you stretch your pouch? How much were you eating? Just trying to get a feel of how much food ppl can tolerate before they're band gets pissed lol
  15. No problem! Good luck
  16. OMG!! So scary and sad Thanks for the post
  17. Nope, eating too little generally will slow your metabolism, making it counter-intuitive Eating 5 small meals a day (or every 3 hours and not past 7 PM) is what they say will speed up your metabolism to be at optimum fat burning efficency
  18. So this is not your "full sign" is only hits when you've eaten too much? What is your full sign (if any)?
  19. Yes, i believe so I take in 1000-1200 calories (usually closer to 1000 and I also burn at least 400 cals at the gym). When I reach goal I will veer towards about 1400 calories per day Why do you eat so little? Is all that the band allows? Or are you purposely trying to stay that low?
  20. Keep drinking a TON!!! That usually helps me
  21. I am not from philly but you can get support and encouragement by using my fitness pal and becoming friends with other bandsters. You can track your progress and eating diary openly so people can see- that should make you feel less alone
  22. You just took a big step in your life. The fact that you were so emotional isn't entirely out of the ordinary! Your doing just fine- remember take it one day at a time
