It's when they fold your stomach in via stapling which reduces it's capacity

it can be done with a lapband but is a bit more invasive

Not a lot of research available on it yet, which is why some insurance's won't cover it. (but the preliminary reports show low risks/high success)

I did not do it, because when asking my doctor he said "a lapband surgery is like a 4 on a scale of 1-10 of invasiveness, but with the plication it raises it to a 6-7"

So I decided against it
