  4. hmm I like this thread. I'm not to sure how to actually "calculate it." My overall goal weight is 130/140. I believe this is my healthy weight for my height but it is also where I would like to be. for myself, my clothes size is more of a goal to me then actual pounds. im short and proportioned pretty evenly besides my breast and nice ass. I really would love to be in a size 7/8 and small tshirt. My mom doesn't think I'll ever get into a small tshirt because of my breast size but I'll keep my big breast if that means I have to wear a medium tshirt Honestly last time I remember weighing in the 130s was in middle school at the pediatricians office and my brother making fun of me because I weighed 133 and he weighed like 120 and is 2 and a half years older than me. I remember this specifically because we were in the waiting room and a kid from my class I thought was cute was there. ha! now that I think about it I can't even remember that boys last name so obviously the comment about my weight had more of an impact on me that day. I will be excited to be at a healthy and normal weight for my age and height so like I said the pounds won't impact my decision of looking good and being healthy. I dol have about 100 pounds to lose to get to 130 so it's gonna be a journey! I guess I never answered your question... just rambled on :-x
  5. My parents and immediate family know, some of my mothers siblings and cousins know as well. my fiancé told his parents but not sure i they told his aunts/ uncles/ grandparents/ cousins yet or not but wouldn't doubt that whole family will know soon. I go to college and all of my close friends there know but there are a lot of other people I don't want knowing from college. If they find out eventually, then so be it. All of my friends from home know as well. I told my immediate boss last week because he needs to let me on light duty for a while when I go back to work but I'm not telling his boss or anyone hirer up. also only my two direct coworkers know but not telling anyone else at work. I guess I knew I was telling a lot of people but that is a pretty long list lol. I have a lot of people I see frequently and I know word will be spread or people will notice my weight loss and ask. I am not ashamed of getting this surgery because I consider it a second chance and it's for my health. When I'm not sure if I wanna tell a certain person or not and I end up doing it, it is a relief because they are very happy for me and supportive. I have only encountered one person that isn't supportive "to my face" (there's probably someone out there that doesn't agree but doesn't tell me) and she is overweight herself and is now on a diet to prove to me it can be done without surgery. it doesn't necessarily bother me she is doing this but it does annoy me when she makes comments like that. my mom just keeps telling me that I'm gonna be the healthier one and the one who keeps it off and works the hardest so she can just shut up. haha
  6. So I am starting my liquid diet tomorrow and surgery is Friday. I have never like vegetables my entire life... honestly the only one I can eat is potatoes if you would even count them. I hate lettuce, salads, tomatoes, carrots.... you name it, if it's a veggie I won't go near it. I even hate mushrooms and pickles. Honestly it disgusts me when I think about my eating habbits. my question for all of you is how did your taste buds changes after surgery? I'm praying that after surgery I'll lose my sweet tooth and replace it with love for "healthy foods!!!" Thanks for any input on this matter
  7. we're sleeve sisters! I go for surgery on May 11th as well I start my pre op diet of Clear liquids tomorrow
  8. It's harder to tell a difference on yourself or someone you see daily. I know when my mom tells me she lost 10 pounds I can barely tell, and when I would gain 10 pounds and my clothes would get tighter, I would wonder where the heck those 10 pounds went cause I can't tell. my surgery is next Friday and I so excited for this surgery I can't stop thinking about it. even if I can't see myself losing the weight im taking pictures and measurements weekly. tomorrow starts liquids so today will be my first picture and measurement. I cannot wait to lose 43 pounds because I'll be back to where I was starting my freshman year at college 3 years ago lol I'm sure when you see someone you haven't seen since pre op they will definitly notice the difference! great job with your loss!!!

  16. hey guys! just had my last test I needed to get done before surgery next Friday and I feel great! I'm so ready for surgery and to have a happy and healthy body again! i think my upper gi endoscopy helped me prepare a little for surgery and see kinda what it will be like getting all hooked up and put to sleep. I've never had anything like that before and I'm glad I had to do that for surgery. this was even my first time getting an iv! I'm just super excited now! any other may sleeves around!?
  17. ohhh I see! I've read it a few times but didn't know what it meant besides an accomplishment
  18. what does nsv stand for? lol
  19. I just finished my last week of school and I'm getting sleeved on 5/11. my mom and I were just saying yesterday how I have perfect timing for the sleeve because I have this week to get prepared for surgery with unpacking and organizing college stuff, going shopping for liquids, and other such things I need to do to prepare. then next week I'm on clear liquids Sunday through Thursday and I don't have plans for anything straineous. Then I'll go into surgery Friday! I'll have another 2 weeks off before I start work for the summer which my boss is very understanding and is going to let me do a lot of office work for a while. I'm very pleased with how timing ended up working out but I have been on this journey since September. I am very glad that I don't have to go back to school until the last couple days of August so I literally will be 3 and a half months post op before I have to start classes again. Although I haven't had surgery yet, I highly suggest finding a time during the school year you can take some time off, let your body rest, and follow your drs instructions to the T.
  20. yeah that's not my problem because I've always been able to ride but I am trying to decide if I'll be able to go to Kennywood with friends this summer
  21. Hey! just wondering if anyone knows about how long to wait until you can ride roller coasters or other amusement park rides. I'm assuming after everything heals but dont know and plan to ask surgeon for confirmation. let me know your experiences
