Some answers to Your most burning questions... How much will I lose with Lap Band?
OMGoodness!!!!! Thank you Love...this is exactly what I just blogged about!!! I needed to read this in the worst of ways (before writing). Thank you...I can't say THANK YOU enough. I REALLY, REALLY, REALLY needed to hear this. Don't stop blogging...it's meant for me

A Few Thousands Of Dollars For What.....
Meant to say that I hope I haven't exchanged thousands of dollars for this worry

A Few Thousands Of Dollars For What.....
Well....where to begin.... I'll start by saying I'm a positive person. I hate negativity! However, I'm finding my thoughts to be NEGATIVE lately. I was banded on 9/21/11. The following week my weight was down 25lbs. About 2 weeks after surgery I began to get hungry and I seemingly lost any restriction I may have had. I didn't sweat it because I was scheduled for my first adjustment on 10/25, thinking I would surely have a successful fill w/ restriction. SURPRISE!!! I had a 3cc fill with absolutely no restriction. I haven't had a weight gain...on a positive note I have actually maintained my current loss at 25lbs. But, I can eat as much as I did before the band. I had this surgery so I would no longer have to fight the "diet" mentality but, instead could have the smaller portion meals, slim and healthy life-style everlasting. I hope I'm not one of those whom I've read about who wake up one year later still fighting to reach a sweet spot with the adjustments. My greatest fear is to put on the pounds verses losing them. How many licks does it take to get to the center of a tootsie pop? How many adjustments does it take to get to your happy home? I'm scheduled to have my 2nd adjustment on Tuesday the 21st. I really don't know how I'll handle it if this adjustment doesn't give me some restriction. I don't care that Turkey Day is 2 days later, I'll forfeit all of it for the success of restriction. I hope I have exchanged a thousands of dollars for this worry . Glenda045

Am I banded?
I'm right there in bandster Hell with you!!!! I could not have blogged the words any better myself. BUT, we're not giving up....we are gonna make it!!!!! I refuse to give up! I've been sad most all day because there is nothing I can't eat in almost any quantity I want. After a long day of feeling like a total failure, I signed back in to this site..started reading these blogs and BAM!!!....I read band_groupie and xavier's comments when suddenly I get it....I'm not stopping, I'm not giving up. This is just a period before I start getting my transformation. I have so enjoyed that band_groupie's blogs, not to mention those awesome pictures. So, I've said all that to say...GOOD LUCK!!! You'll make it...I just know it.

negatives all around....
Well, I can honestly say that I'm mad as heck at those comments!!!!!! I can tell you the phentermine tool only gave me a heart condition, not just with the medication, but the yo-yo weight....20 off then 30 on, 50 off then 70 on. I praise God there is WLS, so I can no longer put my heart through the yo-yo weight stuff ever again. I choose the RIGHT way so I can become as healthy as possible. I'm glad you have chosen the RIGHT way too. Hang in there my fellow bandster. Your gonna make it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Need a little help....
I'm 4 weeks out and I've been in the same shape as you since my 2nd week. I did indeed speak to my doctor who told me exactly what everyone else has said...This is the worst part! I will be getting my first fill on 10/25...I'm praying that it works for the HUNGER!!! Everyone I've talked to says it will be much better after the fill. I've been doing better for the past few days because I've increased the amount of protein I've been consuming. Wishing you much better days ahead.

How about a little positivity for today?! Photos included! :)
AWESOME!!!!!!! I needed that encouragement sooooooo badly. I have been banded for one month today. I am down 25 lbs., not had an adjustment yet. Staying hungry all the time!! Scheduled for my first fill on 10/25...looking forward to a positive story like yours within the next 6 mos. Congrats to you. You look absolutely BEAUTIFUL.

Hunger PANGS!!!!!!!
LovetheNewMe, Thank you sooooo much!!!!!! I really needed that info, because I'm not getting that much protein daily. I will add my shakes back. Since I started eating, I had stopped using them 2-3 times daily. I feel like I'm cheating if I'm cheating if I eat the SF popcisles. I guess I stopped all those prematurely. Starting right now, I'm having a SF Popcisle and a protein shake. Again, I appreciate your care, concern and advice. I have enjoy reading the encouraging words of advice that you leave to other bloggers as well. It is unbelievable how much this site helps me. I love the fact that WE are NEIGHBORS....KY / WV.

Hunger PANGS!!!!!!!
I was banded on 9/21/2011. I was absolutely thrilled that I was down 23lbs. and no edema (swelling) in my legs for the first time in about 2 yrs. However, starting to run out of steam; up 3-5lbs. for the last 3 days, small amount of edema in my legs and I'm getting so hungry late in the day that I can hardly stand it. I work 12 hour shifts 3 days a week. During those shifts, I rarely sit down. I have made sure to set aside my 30 minute lunch period since the banding; 10 min. for food prep and 20 minutes for eating. I continuously drink fluids appropriate to my surgeons instructions for times and restrictions and I'm religious to exercising everyday. But, I'm still getting so hungry in the evenings, I'm scared I'm gonna gain the rest of what I've lost. I've tried to stay true to the rules. It's getting harder. I don't get an adjustment until 10/25/11. I sure hope it works, because I have the worse HUNGER PANGS that I've ever had in my LIFE. I refuse to give up. I just don't want to have gone through all this for nothing. I DON'T WANT TO FAIL!!! I've stopped drinking the protein shakes since I'm taking in 3 meals a day. I wonder if I should add them back?

I had surgery 9/23!!!!
Congrats on the weight loss!!!! I was banded on 9/21, so I can't really give any life changing advice. But, I can tell you that I have a hard time with protein shakes as well, I have found that no sugar added Carnation Instant Breakfast Shakes are good. They are high in protein and recommended by my surgeon. Again, congrats and keep up the good work. Blessings to you.
