The 2nd day after my surgery I have been burping like crazy.. I thought it was because i needed to get rid of the gas from the surgery so i really thought nothing of it, but now I'm burping alll the time especially after I drink something.. advice!?

Jatoya,

That is perfectly normal. It will go away! My first week after surgery, I was thinking "OMG, what have I done? Is this gonna be like this forever?" But it all went away and I feel absolutely wonderful. I walked a lot during my recovery period and I think that helped a lot. I have seen other ppl post on here that they used Gas-x strips to help relieve the gas as well. I didnt use them myself but other ppl swear by them. Good luck with your journey! Remember the first couple of weeks are the hardest; you will get through it. Keep the big picture in mind!

the day of my surgery, on the way home, everytime my mom appiled the brakes, i burped. it was so funny, she got to tell me when she was braking as i rested for the hour and a half drive home. now i burp at the wackyest times.

I'm 7 weeks out and I still burp constantly.

This is post op day #3 for me...I'm burping like crazy as well! My burps sound funny, last 3 or 4 seconds and are painful. Will this go away?

Lol... I am thrilled yall CAN burp. I cant get one out hardly at all. First night i dry heaved and had a nice long burp that was high pitched in a way... Very weird but man i felt better after!
