  2. Sounds like we have similar jobs and demands... I work as a quality control chemist at a pharmaceutical factory, and I took off for three weeks. I was a little tired at the end of the day but it want I big deal.
  3. I told everyone! I had two other friends at work who have had wls and they were very open about it and it really helped me. Watching them and being able to talk with them about it really helped me make the decision to have it done for myself, so I feel like if I am open about it then maybe I can help someone else especially since the few that have had wls had the RNY or the band where I work I am the only sleeve. Amanda
  4. Hi I also took the baratric multi Vitamins in the begining but i got really tired of the chalk taste. So I take two gummy vita craves the sour kind because they don't include orange. I also take a sublinguil B12 that is berry flavored that I get at walmart and is my favorite! I am also taking two of the citracal petites a day and a B1 and then my Iron is called Vitron C I get it at walgreens it has Vitamin C in it to help with the absorbtion. I also take a gummy Vitamin D once a day. Just remember that you can't take your calcium and iron together.... You have to take them at seperate times of the day. Calcium interferes with how you absorb iron. All of my labs have come back great except for my B1 levels. (I wasn't taking it.... I hate the smell but I am taking it now) Amanda
  5. I am four months post op and I order protein shots off the Internet called Proslam 27... It is what I was given at the hospital. They still have that whey taste but are wayyyyyy better than the ones from Walmart. I have one a day to hit my protein mark.
  6. Yep top of your screen the tabs say forums, blogs, photos and chat....
  7. Why is no one ever in the chat room? Everytime I go in there their in no one there but me?
  8. What does the number at the top of the app mean? Stupid question.. I know.
  9. Yes, yes, yes! I would do it again tomorrow if I had to. I had surgery about three and a half months ago and I have lost 66lbs since surgery. I had no complications and I feel very normal.
  10. I would say give the dr a call it could also be your blood pressure. We're you on blood pressure meds before surgery? If so they may be to strong now causing your blood pressure to bottom out and giving you that light headed feeling. Let us know.
  11. I have UHC and was seen in the ER for IV fluids in November, all you should be required to pay is your ER deductible mine is $100. It was well worth it to get the fluids and I felt much better! Good luck keep us posted!
  12. To Debic... Haha I wish! No I should have been more clear. I started my journey in jan of 2011 with a 6 month diet and then the Pre op diet lasted two weeks. I had surgery in october so I have lost 60lbs in three months, all the rest was Pre op weight loss.
  13. I started at 315 I am 5'9" tall I was wearing a tight 24, the day of surgery I was down to 277 was in a size 20 now I am at 217 and in a size 16. At 315 I wore 3x in shirts now I'm wearing 1x and some xl. I hope to get down to 170 but I don't have a size in mind.
  14. That is where your stomach came out... They place an extra stitch there so every time I moved it pulled/ stringed but the pa told me it was totally normal. It lasted about a total of four weeks until the stich dissolved.
  15. I was sleeved in oct of this year and I just had mirena put in yesterday... I was worried about the effectiveness of the pill in such a small tummy...and I don't want any babies right now. LOL
  16. Ok so i have a question for the ladies... I'm currently off bc but I have an appointment on the 29th to have a mirena kid put in. I am two months out and doing well with my weight loss my concern is that the our will cause the weight loss to stop or cause a gain! Has anyone had surgery then had an iud? If so what was your experience with it? Did it slow the weight loss? Was the pain of the insertion bad? I just wanted something more reliable than the pill. Thanks for your help!
  17. My family never cook so I eat out every weekend. I get by by just ordering off the kids menu but I still take home left overs just not as much. I have had the waitress ask if I was ok before I just answered by saying that I wasn't able to eat a whole lot. Most places that offer kids chicken tenders are usually fried but if you ask they will grill them for you. Believe it or not I can stick pretty close to my diet even eating out it just about making better choices. I hope I helped! Smiles!!!
  18. Thanks guys! I am so glad to know I am not the only one who feels like this!
  19. OK so I was sleeved on Oct 20th, 2011 and I'm down 36lbs. but for the past couple weeks I am hovering around 240. Some days I'm down 0.2 pounds then some days i'm up 0.6 pounds! How can you gain weight eating 500 calories a day? The weight loss was great the first month now I feel like I'm going no where. I'm hungry ALL the time if I eat I'm hungry 1.5 hrs later. All I eat is protein I am so sick of chicken, and beef etc... I don't have any room for veggies. I usually have less than 50g of carbs my dr. reccomends less than 100g. Tonight for dinner I ahd 4 shrimp. I don't take a ppi the dr says I don't need one. I hate to think I've done all this and paid all this money for 36lbs! I still have 70lbs to go and starting to feel like I am never going to get there. Sorry to vent but I just needed somone to listen for a min.
  20. I have found them online even on eBay, but I was really hoping someone on here had tried them.
  21. Has anybody tried the sunkist protein shots? How are they in taste? I have been using the pro slam fruit punch that the hospital used but im looking for a different one.
  22. Chili from Wendy's is really good in the blender. Tastes the same as it does normally, and it is fast and easy great once you go back to work!
  23. Hi I was sleeved on 10-20-11 my highest was 315 my surgery weight was 277 today I was 243 so I've lost 34lbs since the day of my surgery.
  24. Well I am about six weeks out and my total cholesterol last year was nearly 250 and my triglycerides were 214, I just had labs done last week and my total cholesterol is down to 139 and my triglycerides are down to 89! I have noticed my knees don't hurt as bad as they did and I've lost 33lbs
