  1. Has anyone thought of using progesterone cream to combat the excess estrogen during rapid weight loss?
  2. I've lost over 120 lbs. before and found myself now with all but 15 regained. I hate being fat and I will do anything to give myself the best chance to lose it and keep it off for good!
  3. YAY! Congrats on your weight loss but most of all your decision to put your faith in Jesus Christ. Much love to you!

That sounds like a lot! In the post op diet I was given, it says 'never drink more than 2 oz. in a 10-15 minute period'.
  5. We're leaving in 10 days to Mexicali for VSG with Dr. Aceves. I have tried to think of everything. Yesterday I called the phone company so our phones will work while there. Next week I will phone my credit card company to be sure they will allow the Mexico charge to go through. Today I picked up sample toiletries. Does anyone know if they will let me take protein shots on the plane? I have 6, 2.9 oz shots that I wanted to bring for the trip home.
  6. I don't dare tell my hubby that I will be moody for a while post op. He's not too thrilled with this already, that info might send him over the edge! LOL
  7. Yes, insulin is the fat storing hormone. I learned that in my low carbing days.
  8. I chose Dr. Aceves for my VSG because his patients overall really do seem to have the best results. Also because of the the nice hospital he operates in and I couldn't find one bad review on him. I hope I will be as successful as you ladies!
  9. Well I can't wait to take after pics!!!
  10. Exciting!!! I'm going to Aceves and he only requires a low carb diet for a week and only if you're over BMI 40. I'm going to do it anyway though, so I'll feel better on our trip to MX. I'm going to start a week from today!
  11. I squeezed on my favorite bikini today, the one I want to look great in by the spring, and asked hubby to take a before pic. UGH. They are so much worse than I even imagined. I better have an amazing after pic in the months ahead!!!
  12. WOW, totally amazing transformation in just 6 months! WTG!!!
  13. I just edited to take the space out to avoid this.
  14. Hey, I'm the one that just connected w/ you on FB....... we are FL neighbors! I will be praying for the steroid to work for you. My first was a c-section under general, it was at FWB medical center. My second was also a c-section but that one was a spinal. Then I rebelled and had my next 2 babies vbac. All was fine with the first under general but it was hard not being awake to see my first baby. Many prayers your way
  15. That is the main thing I notice when I look at Youtube vids of VSG patients vs. RNY patients. The sleevers look so much healthier.
  16. What about the caffeine? Do they have decaf tea? I've been trying to wean off caffeine since my dr. says no caffeine for at least 3 months post op due to dehydration.
  17. Awesome........... me too!!!
  18. That does sound yummy! So have you tried mixing protein powder in it? I have the unflavored kind and I'm hoping it will work well so I can get electrolytes and protein in one shot.
  19. I'm having my VSG on October 10th with Dr. Aceves in Mexicali, Mexico. I am so ready to get it over with and get on with my new life!!!
  20. I was shopping for post op today and found Vitamin Water Zero. It's an electrolyte drink that I thought would be perfect for that first week home to prevent dehydration. The big plus for me is no artificial junk in it, I detest artificial color and flavor. I bought 6 flavors of it, $1 a bottle at Walmart. I have 3 different options for Protein so far; an unflavored whey Protein powder, a bottle of beef Gelatin, and some nutritional yeast, (which is high protein plus B Vitamins for a bonus). I plan on mixing the whey protein with the Vitamin Water and the last two with broths/soups. So who has tried the Vitamin Water Zero? Should whey protein mix well with it?
  21. I'm not a beer drinker anyway but my patient coord. for Dr. Aceves told me an interesting story. She told me he has had only one patient regain weight, one man gained back 40 lbs from drinking a lot of beer.
  22. I really wish someone in my life would support my decision to have VSG. My mom keeps trying to talk me out of it telling me I don't need it and asking me why I have to do it now. I told her I wasn't asking her permission but I have given her some info because I feel I owe it to her since she is staying with my 5 children for 5 days while we are in MX Then there's my husband who is freaking me out telling me stories of druglords and mass murders in Mexico and telling me every day that it better be worth it. We're going to Mexicali and I'm trying to reassure him by all the people here I have seen have no safety issues as well as the info my patient coord. Nina has given us on the safety there. I just feel like I'm going to explode with all this stress on top of preparing myself physically and emotionally for surgery. DAMN. I will be so glad when all this is behind me. I know in my heart this is what I have to do, I just need a little support!!!!!
  23. I'm getting worried about this very thing since I've gained a lot of my weight just this past year. I need to lose 85 and 50 is just from this last year. I hope I can find joy in feeling better and being smaller anyway.
