  1. I am between 25 and 30 pounds gone and I had my surgery on 10/4. It has been slow but steady with no real stall. I am starting to incorporate more excercise beyond light cardio. You are doing great! Keep it up!

  3. I have lost around 30 and now am stalling! Don't get discouraged this happens for up to a few weeks then all of the sudden you drop 10 in days! Keep on going and stay positive!
  4. Protein, protein, protein!!! I plan on doing a bigger portion of protein and smaller portion of veggies.
  5. I agree with your friend. My doctor told me NO GATORADE, because of the sugar content. Are you getting in enough protein and water everyday? I am finding it difficult to get all my water in. I am not one to sip on fluids all day.
  6. The biggest thing is to keep a positive attitude! Instead of saying I have only lost 53 pounds, be proud of losing it! Is there anyway you can get cardio in on an excercise bike? I know you have lower back pain, but I am thinking if you are sitting down on the bike it may not bother your back as much but you still get cardio in. Also, what about water aerobics? Just some thoughts for lower impact. I was diagnosed with arthritis and fibromyalgia at the age of 2 so I can understand back pain. Keep a positive outlook, everyone is going to lose at their own pace and have stalls!
  7. Hi there! I had the same thing happen to me. It is heartburn. My doctor told me to take prilosec and it ended up helping 100%! Also, when your stomack is growling like that you need to eat. It is your stomach telling you that you are hungry. Even if it isn't much eat a little bit and also take that pill right away! I had my surgery on October 4th and mine is finally clearing up.
  8. I am getting cleared by my doctor to start excercising with weights in a couple of weeks. What are some good excercises to help tighten up those saggy areas from losing weight quickly??? I am already noticing arm flab and around the belly area! Thanks!

  10. You can do this! Think of way to trick your mind back! I have been using smaller plates and using toddler utensils. It has been very helpful! I also always start with protein, sometimes if I am super hungry I only put protein on my plate to make sure that is first and foremost! Also, check the labels! I have learned that if you get too much sodium it's not good for you and even protein packed foods don't always mean it's ok to eat by bariatric standards! Keep your head up! You will do just fine!
  11. So I am getting cleared from my doctor to start excercising! The nice thing about my doctors program is they add in a 6 month free membership to our local healthplex! When looking down the list I am starting with slow form yoga and moderate range arthritis which is a therapy pool acquatic session (I have arthritis so I think this will do joints well!). Besides walking which I am already getting in can everyone chime in on their routines! I would like to have different ideas so I don't get bored! Thanks to all! Jen
  12. Stay positive! Instead of saying I have ONLY lost so many pounds. . .give yourself a pat on the back saying I have lost this much weight and more to come! You can do this!
  13. Best of luck everyone! I was sleeved on 10/4 and I am feeling great! You all will do awesome!
  14. Could you try putting some of the unjury unflavored powder in the different foods you eat? You can add a little sprinkle to your food! Since it has no flavor but acquires protein that would be good! Also, Isopure which is like gatorade or powerade counts as a liquid plus protein! Hope this helps!
  15. I have thought about it and I am actually glad that I am getting it done before the holidays! I will be almost 2 months post op once Thanksgiving hits so I will be eating solids again! I am so excited knowing that by then I will know what to eat and not to eat but most of all I won't be able to eat 2 plates full of food, let alone 1! Food surrounds our family holidays but I am going to try to incorporate games or activities to go along with it. . .that way I am not standing next to the food tables grazing like I used to! I think it is mind over matter!
  16. I haven't had my surgery yet but I have talked to my doctor about this. I have severe migraines! He told me that generally what the studies have shown is that a high percentage of bariatric patients see most or all migraines cured post surgery! I am hoping for this! Best of luck!
