  1. And the master saves another soul! LOL! Jean you rock!
  2. It sounds like you are doing fine with the fill you have. Getting a fill and being too tight for vacation sounds like a bad idea to me personally. I always try to make sure I have a least a week before traveling after a fill.
  3. Do what you want for yourself. No one can tell you but you what that is. My doc said my goal was 180. I want 165... so I am still working on it!
  4. I agree... call your doctor, and do not try to drink the whole shake all at once! Sip slowly.
  5. Your band should not make you throw up. Throwing up is BAD! Sometimes just a half cc will make all the difference. The doc did not empty your band. You still have it. You should be on liquids after a fill or unfill though to avoid irritation.
  6. ROFL! Fantastic NSV! Buy new pants!
  7. Phlegm is a sign of eating too fast and or being stuck. Slow down, and remember, you even need o chew jello!
  8. Congrats and welcome to Banded Life!
  9. You do not get all of your protein from the shakes from what you said with only 1 shake a day. Count the other protein in your meals.
  10. Sounds like you need a more supportive practice. Mine did seminars and passed out diet information way before surgery. Look into alternatives. All doctors give different post-op instructions based upon their experience, which is why none of us really want to advise you specifically.
  11. I feel restriction, but I can certainly eat around it. The lap band is there to help you while you make the lifestyle change required to be a healthy weight. You have to WANT it!
  12. The book is fabulous, and I can say so without fear of being an advertisement, cause Jean did not pay me. I think it ought to be a per-requisite to surgery!
  13. People fear what they don't understand. Lap band takes work, so you have to WANT it to be successful.
  14. Seems to be for me. I think it is the high protein
  15. Unjury chocolate splendor is my all time fave, and Peanut butter cookie, from Nashua. I mix my shakes with Almond milk, unsweetened. Same flavor only only 30 cals per cup for the milk and extra calcium.
  16. I took chewable or liquid versions of mine for the first 4 weeks.
  17. Learn from mistakes and do not repeat.
  18. Ports do flip. Sorry yours did. Do what your doctors recommends to make it right. Good luck.
  19. Sip, sip, sip. Dry mouth is very common and it tells you you are dehydrated.
  20. No cheating here... I made a decision to change my life and I did!
  21. Ditto what Maddysgram said, only it was by choice, not doctor's orders.
  22. The surgeon's office should be able to answer this type of insurance question. I do know that there are some people on the forum who got surgery via medicaid.
  23. When ever you and doctor agree it is time. No one on here can tell you as each person's experiences with the band are different. I have a good friend who has lost almost 100 pounds with NO fills. FIlls so not do the work, they just help you do it!
  24. Nope it is Cheryl2586. Look her up!
