First experience with scrambled eggs
Even scramble eggs get chewed. One is enough for me! Enjoy introducing real foods back into your diet, but take it slow and don't forget to chew it mush. Keep your fluids up as well. Doing good... Keep it up!

I survived my first dinner lol
Major accomplishment! Good for you!

Met my Surgeon and Office Staff
Cutting down carbs to that level will probably entail eating nothing white. Bread, rice, pasta, potatoes especially. Are you also on a liquid diet? If so make sure your protein shakes are low carbs. Some are not. Good luck. The work is worth it in the end!

Question for those who been banded for awhile...
I don't use a straw. Doc said not to and I said yes sir!

Chest pain
You sound stuck to me.

Anyone else?
I averaged 600-700.

I had the sx, but it is all about his diet - venting
Men are insensitive at times. Tell him you need his support. Congratulate him on his success and tell him you want to lose with him! Be proud of every pound. Everyone loses differently. Make sure you are weighing or measuring your portions and feel satisfied after a meal. If not, contact you surgeon and discuss a fill with them.

Love Them Anyway!!!
Happy Easter Sharon, and thanks for the great Easter quote. Blessings to you and your family!

How long after surgery will I be bed ridden?
Hopefully not at all. The quickest way to recover is to be up and around. You may sit and rest in a recliner, I was only in bed to sleep.

How bad is the pain after surgery?
Strong gas pains the worst, but none of it is as bad as your imagination may tell you! Try to relax and you will be fine!
-
Traveling?
The airplane is pressurized so you should feel no affect on the band while flying. Skiing at high altitude may be different story. Take ti slow and you will be fine. I have never felt tight on any flight including 8 hour ones!

Barium Esophogram (hope i spelled it right) lol
Who cares about spelling? We get the message! You are getting back on track! That is the important part! Best wishes to you! Come back if you need support. You can do it if you WANT to!

Freaking out a little
Allergies can definitely affect the band. Start the morning with warm liquid... teas or hot chocolate, and then progress to mushy. Keep the bite sizes small!

I no longer feel my band? Should I be worried?
Sounds like the heal9ing cycle is progressing nicely. Things are as they should be. You should not be able to feel the band, just the restriction when eating and that may not come at first until you have had a few fills. Just eat the right stuff in the right portions. You are doing fine!

10 days post op...
Sounds good to me. I love cream of chicken and cream of celery!

I am 50 and i have my appt. with surgeon 4/19. Am i too old?
I will turn 64 in 3 days. Had my surgery 17 months ago. Best decision I ever made for myself. Many off the folks on here are your age or older. Keep faith. If you want it, go for it, but be prepared to work for it!

Normal banded weight loss?
Weight loss is a cycle. Over the long haul if you are exercising and eating the right amount of the right foods you will lose. Don't lose faith.

hungry girl cookbook
Nope... Sounds dangerous to me.
-
started mushy diet
Add oatmeal to the ensure! LOL You will get the hang of it!
-
no restriction so frustrated
I think it is dangerous to do the fills yourself. Too easy to pick up an infection.

ideas/advice on not drinking while eating
At home... just don't bring a drink to the table. When you eat out... if it is nearby... push it away. If I can reach it, it is going in! LOL. This was a huge struggle for me at first, but it gets easier.

Splenda Calories
I use the liquid Stevia, it is packaged like Mio!

Has anyone noticed the Pizza Hut ad on the right of your screen?
I see some, but not Pizza Hut!
-
Has anyone else experienced this?
If you ate close to going to bed sometimes things will not pass through the band as well. You are probably fine, but do call your doctor if it continues. Everyone is different and you may need a slight unfill.

Hoping to be a lap band candidate soon
Every practice seems to have different processes. Plan on 6 months and hope to be surprised!
