Restaurants - lap band portions?
One plan that worked for me was to ask for the to go container up front when the meal is served. Then and transfer all but my allotted portion to the take out container, and eat what is left on the plate. They may look at your strange, but it is your dinner anad your right to get what you want. I don't do well with lettuce, so I order salads without the lettuce.... yes, don't let them tell you they can't do it!

My most embarrassing "FAT GIRL" moment
Banish that from your memory along with the "F" word. We are or have been obese, but "F" is derogatory!!!

If you were used a coffee you may be in caffeine withdrawal. Add some sugar free coffee syrup to your shakes.

When will I start feeling better?
Walk as much as you can... sound a bit like residual gas, and be sure to get in plenty of protein. It takes some longer to recover after surgery than others, I think you are fine and your doc will know for sure next week.

Gas pain, incision problem and scared.
For the newly banded, take a deep breath and relax. is all uncharted territory for you, but we have all been there and we are here to say it does get better. Walk as much as you are able, swing your arms. Heating pad on top of shoulders, all these help. And please limit the heavy duty pain killers, they don't help the gas and can easily cause constipation to further your woes. It will get better... just relax and try not to stress about everything. Best Wishes

So tired all the time. Lacking protein?
Sounds like you are not eating enough solid protein. Could also be vitamin deficiency. Have you PCP do a complete blood work up and definitely see a Nutritionist to help plan better food choices.

love the chocolate splendor. The regular choc is good, but the splendor is better. Vanilla good, strawberry - OK, unflavored great in soups or OJ.

Advice.... Help please?!
I agree... the first step is to see your surgeon and go from there. Don't worry about problems that may not exist. Paying for your own treatments may help you stay motivated.

Brand new
Take it day by day. Percocet will not help gas and may cause constipation which make the tummy feel worse. Liquid tylenol should help. Try Gasx as well. The best thing for the surgery gas is walking and swinging your arms. This too shall pass. Welcome to the journey!

BMI of 30 - do you think I would be approved?
It is very unlikely unless you have the co-morbidties like Diabetes, High blood pressure, Heart disease, Sleep apnea, etc. But look for a doctor that accepts a payment plan if you are really committed to this surgery.

Is this normal???
It took me more like 3 weeks to get halfway normal. Your body is healing from major surgery. It takes time.
