Hair Loss After Vsg
As my name (illgeturhairdid) suggests- I used to be a hair stylist. Your hair is usually the first sign that there is something going on inside. Major surgery as well as such a drastic change in your diet are enough to start hair loss. 9 times out of 10 it is not permanent. I've seen first hand how devastating hair loss can be to my clients and I'm not looking forward to it. I experienced rapid shedding about 7 years ago after my home burned down. Good news is it WILL grow back. Vitamins are important to take- but honestly I'm not so sure how much the Protein intake is supposed to help with prevention. I think the protein intake helps more with re-growth. This is just my personal opinion of things I observed over years working with scissors and a blow dryer. Good luck!

Help! Pre Gastric Sleeve Surgery Diet Is So Hard!
I think it is better that you are on such a strict diet before surgery. I only had to do two days of liquids. Saturday was full liquid, Sunday was only Clear Liquids. Then Monday (day of surgery) nothing... My surgery didn't start until 7:30 at night!! Coming home has been hard especially tonight with my family making one of my favorite dinners. I think that this prep work will make these things easier for you post op though.

4-5 Days Post Gastric Sleeve Surgery And Already Down 16 Pounds.
Don't be embarrassed by that!! My cousin had RNY the same day I had my VSG and she and I have both chewed some things and spit them out. Fighting head hunger is really hard. I wouldn't do it 10x a day, but honestly once that little flavor hits my tongue I couldn't care about it anymore and I'm done with it. I'm also switching to a Calcium chew which will probably help as well.

Gastric Sleeve Surgery Not As Bad As I Thought
Chunky- you'll have to change your name soon! hehe Congrats to you! I'm glad to hear you are doing well after surgery! GasX was helpful to me. The hospital sent me home with a script for a chewable anti-gas medicine but I didn't fill it because my insurance didn't cover it as it is something purchasable over the counter. The pharmacist told me to take two of the gasx strips to equal one of the pills prescribed and that's what I did. Maybe taking them two at a time will help you more?

I'm lucky in that my surgeon has me on full liquids until the two week mark when I can start soft foods. Let me tell you I can't wait!

Exhausted - 9 Weeks Out Gastric Sleeve Surgery And Fall Asleep By 7pm
I say take it easy and listen to your body. It knows what it is doing/wants/needs. Are you getting in all of your water? I know sometimes kicking up the water a bit can help with energy.

The Hunt For Reasonably Priced Vitamins
I bought my vitamins and calcium from unjury.com. They aren't the best tasting thing, but they aren't the worst. My surgeons office cells Calcet chews in chocolate and lemon- I will be buying those next visit to alternate with. I know my nutritionist said that a lot of people prefer liquid vitamins, have you looked into that at all?

??experienced sleeve surgeons in NY, MA, CT, RI??
Dr. Cerabona and Dr. Maffei did my surgery as well. My surgery was over in half of the time they expected and my family was very impressed when both doctors came out to the waiting room and sat with them for about ten minutes after they were finished.

The Nose Knows
You're right... You don't have a beautiful face. You have a GORGEOUS face! Gorgeous is so much better than beautiful- like EVERYONE knows that. DUH! LoL. And congrats on the jeans love! Now, I want you to know that not only do I think you are gorgeous- I'm a tad jealous of your butt too! When I started losing weight my bum was the first place it evacuated.

Thought My First Entry Would Be Different...
I think this is very profound! Opening up and sharing how you are really feeling can be very difficult. You will get there Pookyism! I'm going to go all religious on you for a moment, and I'm sorry if this offends your or anyone- but it is what got me through those same kind of moments. I know Heavenly Father wanted this for me. He wants all of his children to live life to our fullest and we are all given unique challenges to overcome. There isn't always going to be one right answer for the problem. For some people weight loss is easily done through exercise, for some they don't even have to worry about it. Some people have medical conditions that make it difficult to lose and in fact contribute to gaining. For some, like myself, WLS is an answer to a prayer. You'll get there. For some the journey may be longer and harder- but in the end it will all work out the way that it should. Good luck to you!

Has Anyone Tried Unjury Protein Cheese Sauce?
I ordered mine on Friday. For some reason ever since I got home from the hospital all I want is cheese. I saw the ad for the protein cheese sauce and just about cried tears of joy! I felt literally like I NEEDED it, so I charged it to a credit card- something I try to avoid using!

Has Anyone Had Experience With A Phone Conference Appeal?
I work with insurance companies and help my patients find loop holes all the time. Why are you being denied? What conditions do you have that would be improved by weight loss? What is the insurance company?

I'm totally going to try this today! I'm going crazy on all liquids.

Shiratake Noodles
They are okay. Nothing to write home about. They are a good substitute for the motion of spaghetti. I've enjoyed them with shrimp and veggies in a cheese sauce when I was doing MediFast. Like Tiffykins said, spaghetti squash is a yummier option.

Grocery List Post Gastric Sleeve Surgery
I actually never really ate chili until starting this journey. It is pretty high in protein and packs a lot of flavor. It is VERY satisfying. I know you are doing a shake and a salad, but I would go ahead and try a small chili from Wendy's, they are only $1.

5 Days Out Of Gastric Sleeve Surgery And Worried About Constipation
Well, not to be 100% gross but things are moving... And wet is exactly the word to use. I did a lot of walking today at the grocery store and I think that may have helped.

Cold.... Like Freezing Cold - Had Gastric Sleeve Surgery 3.5 Days Ago
Wow, I had know idea there could be this side effect from the surgery. I figured it was all from blood thinners and later on if it happened it would be because of loss of insulation as you said. Thank you all for sharing this information!
