  1. I hate the protein shakes that I bought, but I found if I add in a TBLS of sugar free/fat free pudding mix, it is doable.
  2. I was sleeved on Tuesday. I am having the spasms in my tummy when I drink too. The best way to described mine are it feels like my tummy is really really growling from being hungry.. or if you have ever taken a big gulp of Coke on an empty stomach and it burns the whole way down. I am on full liquid diet now. I made a packet of cream of chicken soup and have been sipping on half of it for about an hour now. My tummy is a little swollen as well. I am not having any wound seepage though. My Dr. has told me to take a prilosec every day. I took one a couple of hours ago. I was hoping it would help with the gassy tummy but hasn't yet.
  3. I live in Lake Elsinore. I had my surgery on 6/12.
  4. I am on my way to the hospital...thanks for everyone's encouragement and support!
  5. I have to be at the hospital at 6:00am. I am really excited. It has been a year in the making. I am not nervous yet. It is kind of surreal right now.
  6. I totally understand that. That is exactly how I used to feel. But I know with the people that are in my life at the moment (the people that knew), the word would get out. I also know that if someone point blank asked me what I was doing to lose weight, I would feel like I was lying by omission. I am NOT saying that I think people are lying if they choose not to tell, I just have a really guilty conscious and I know if I were to be put on the spot, it would just come out of my mouth anyways.
  7. I got them on Groupon too! I have only worn them once around the house, but haven't worn them to exercise yet. Have you tried yours?
  8. Sabrina, I just sent you a message. I see you had Dr. Khran. I am getting sleeved on the 12th with him as well. I am really excited! I am not nervous yet, but I am sure I will be the day of surgery. How are you doing?
  9. I was told by my Dr. office staff that I couldn't have the doctor sign off on my STD papers until the day I was released from the hospital. Then they would mail out for me. Does anyone know how long it takes to see the money?
  10. ((hugs))
  11. Awesome NSV! You are doing great.
  12. Today starts my clear liquids. I have surgery on Tuesday. Why is it that my body decided to pick THIS day to wake up starving?
  13. I started out thinking that I wasn't going to tell a soul. Throughout my year long journey, I have decided that I am a fool if I think people won't find out. I work at an auction where I see the same people week after week. They will all have questions about how I lost the weight. Undoubtedly, they will ask another person who is helping them and be told. I am not a fool to think that people at my work will not say anything. I also know that my husband would have not kept it a secret. I decided not to set him up for failure and just give him my permission to tell. Then I decided, the whole dang world can know because I don't care. When the customer's at my work ask why I am going to be off work, I just tell them point blank. Everyone I have told is very supportive (at least to my face ) If they decide to bash me behind my back about the surgery, they would definitely talk bad about me regardless of the subject. My only fear in telling everyone is that I don't lose any weight and look like a failure.
  14. Sounds like him "spilling the beans" is just the tip of the iceberg. You deserve better than that! I can't wait for you to lose the wait and be able to shove it in his non supportive face.
  15. I don't like the protein shakes that I bought either. My friend kept telling me to mix w/ milk instead of water and add in fruit or yogurt. I don't want to defeat the purpose so I want to stick w/ mixing w/ plain water. I did find a trick, though. If I add in a Tbls of sugar free/fat free pudding, it is doable. There are 4 servings in the pudding mix and it is 25 calories per serving. I think 1 Tbls is less than 1 serving. Even at an additional 25 calories, it is worth it. It also kills the horrible smell. I just added banana cream to my vanilla shake for lunch and it was so much better.
  16. My hair is super thin.... I am really scared about going bald. I hope it will grow back
  17. I totally understand that... I haven't heard the "second brain" theory, but I certainly know that mine "thinks" it is hungry all the time. Hope that part gets taken out with the surgery.
  18. I am SO glad that I didn't get the LapBand. I think that the sleeve is going to give me much greater results! I didn't like the fact that the band can erode your stomach. What a pain to have to go in for fills/unfills too. I also don't like the fact that it seems like there are a whole lot of band to sleeve revisions. I have a friend who has the band and she has done well. I am happy for her and she works the band well. I just don't think it is for me.
  19. Me too! I am having mine on 6/12.. we will be fine!
