  1. Grazing is the only way around cheating your sleeve and Im sure that's not your intention... I find binging absolutely IMPOSSIBLE!!!
  2. Losing.it.in.2011---> To be quite honestly I have been playing by the rules about 85-90% of the time! ... I eat my proteins first, then veggies and carbs last.. but LIFE HAPPENS and I have not been crazy eating bad foods but if there is a function I will treat myself... I started out eating about 1/4cup of food at a time but now I think Im up to 2/3 cup of food now.. I always pay attention to my full signals and can truthfully say I have NEVER had nausea post op after eating foods.. and I think its because of that diligence... Also, I try hard to do physical activity to help tighten and shrink problem areas but I would have to say that has been sporadic at best... I really should be more committed to that... But, thats pretty much it... Just live your life and make decisions that will be Healthiest for you... My new philosophy after surgery was if I can only eat small amounts of food then it needed to be healthy food so that my body wasnt deficient in anything.. at least to the best of my ability AND last but not least I really just try to not graze/snack between meals to eliminate unwanted foods in my body
  3. THanks SO much!!! I cant wait to go out this weekend for Valentines!! ... Romance is going to be up hill from now on!!!
  4. It truly is a great opportunity no matter if your young or old!!! ... Im just super happy to have made this decision NOW and not 20 years from now!!!
  5. Hello Fellow SLEEVERS!!! Its been just over 4 months since I had VSG in Mexico! This journey has been very kind to me thus far and I must say that I have made the most amazing decision for myself and Im so glad that I did this!!!! 4 months ago I was 214lbs and losing much of my self esteem as a young woman. Im 22 years old and I really felt ashamed of my appearance. I felt like I was a burden in my relationship with my husband because I was very insecure about myself even though he is one man in my life that I can trust with anything! I was wearing size 16 pants and size XL shirts, some of which were getting pretty tight HOWEVER>>>> I had VSG and since then there have been many changes!!!! TODAY I am 158lbs and wearing a size 8/9 in pants and size S/M in shirts depending on the stores!!! All i want to do is get together with my friends and husband and do things that normal 20 somethings do I feel as though Im slowly building up my self esteem and I know that my husband loves that my confidence is also building!!! I am so grateful that I stumbled upon this procedure and decided on going through with it!! I hope that anybody who is truly thinking of a permanent way to weightloss gives this a consideration... because it has been an amazing tool in helping me!!! Before After (weightloss in progress)
  6. So very happy for you!!! Your sleeve not only made it possible for you to be a Mom but to also be a healthy and happy one!! <3 All the best through this pregnancy!
  7. thats really awesome!! It is definitely challenging.. but as the weeks go by you will get better at it Im now in week 3 and things are going well.. I love having the challenge that comes from this program!
  8. THIS IS SUCH A GREAT POST!!!!!!! For a lot of the newbies this is a good lesson to be learnt early because that scale can REALLY consume your life and its all the other great things about losing inches and weight that has nothing to do with that number on the scale
  9. i think that you are going into this with a good attitude... at least if you put forth your best effort, then you know you did all you could do once those 2 months are up Im sure you will surprise yourself on how amazingly you will do
  10. this is totally my uneducated opinion but my starting weight was 214lbs and in 3 months i have lost 50lbs... so with a slightly higher weight... you are likely able to get there in 2 months but it wont be a cake walk.... Doing any sort of physical activity will definitely help you alot! I wouldnt focus on feeling ovewhelmed with the goal but rather take on the challenge and set a high expectation of yourself... this way you are more likely to hit that goal! All the best to you! and to answer your question, No I do not think your Doc is Crazy LOL!
  11. I also went with Dr. Pompa and she was phenomenal! She really cares about her patients and the facility is very clean and comfortable. I never felt uncomfortable with any of her staff members and they all spoke very good english! LIMARP is the name of her surgical facility. Definitely do your research, I was self pay too and I know I would do it all over again
  12. suzalicious!!!!... you will definitely be just as successful Im sure of it... It might be hard to picture it now but with a little bit of effort... results come to you and you will feel amazing about it... good luck with everything <3
  13. I totally understand where you are coming from with trying to not tell anyone about the surgery because originally I wasnt going to tell many people either.... HOWEVER... I realized how hard it was going to be to build a lie on top of a lie on top of another lie and so i decided to bite the bullet and admit to myself that i am an adult and I made a decision to do something for myself and if they have something negative to say about it thats their perrogotave. I left it in their hands to deal with and it was a HUGE weight lifted off of my shoulders... AND the most unlikely person who I thought would bash my decision actually became one of my #1 supporters..... I dont know if my little bit of two cents helps you BUT to me it wasnt worth lying and some things in life arent easy but I took ownership of my decision regardless of their opinions
  14. THanks you guys!! Im in such a happy place right now
  15. HELLO everyone!!! I started out my journey on Oct 1, 2010 and to date I have lost 50lbs!!! Its been just over 3 months since surgery and I have never had any complications at all I never had any nausea after eating or heart burn! I feel so blessed to have made this decision to get my life back Im getting closer and closer to my goal weight that I can taste it HAHAH... I just recently started the P90X workout videos in order to increase my physical fitness as well as tighten all of those loosey goosey areas Im so Happy because I am only 22 and by the time i Celebrate my 23rd birthday in June I know I will be at my goal and that makes me so excited! For anyone who is on the fence about doing the surgery... all I can say is Im glad I didnt wait until I was an unhappy obese 45 yr old mother of 3... bringing down my family because of my insecurities!! Now I know that when I do start my family... i will be properly equipped to be a healthy mother and wife All the best to you ALL!! Jackie LONG LIVE THE SLEEVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  16. hey diva! i took a pic of me flexing on day one.... today was the last day of my first week and Im definitely feeling the burn but it makes me feel great lol!!! so after the 90 days I will show the difference of p90x tied in with the wonderful work of the sleeve
  17. Im done DAY 5 now!! things are going really well so far... im surprised how great im feeling about myself because the videos are challenging but im managing it!!! Id recommend it to anyone who is looking for a challenge
  18. i know of an amazing lady who had the sleeve last year and she is 73!... She has so much energy and life in her it really has taken at LEAST 15-20 years off her real age!
  19. I have had a few drinks here and there since having surgery.... I have steered clear of all carbonated beverages since surgery so that its not too overwhelming! ..... I am over 3 months out from surgery and I have had some alcoholic drinks about 4 times MAX....
  20. I am also just over 3 months out and I have been doing Ab workouts for a while now... I started at probably 6 or 7 weeks out... I feel great ... the natural burn of the workout is normal and I would say you should be able to tolerate them good luck at the gym!!!
  21. hey everyone!!... SO yesterday was our first day and this morning i woke up with a sore butt, abs, lats, arms and legs LOL... and i feel GRRREAT! later on today we will be doing our day 2 exercise aaaaaah! I guess I like some physical punishment... probably because I know it will help tighten those loosey goosey areas of my body hahah
  22. I live in Canada... and No its not always winter here.. but it is winter right now and MAN IM FREEEEZING! Im ALWAYS cold! its kind of a bummer but im sure i will adjust sooner than later... COME ON SUMMER HEAT!!
  23. We started today... on the lean program and the hr was challenging but we got through it and I feel really good that I made it through the whole hour!! Its definitely a way of exercising that you know you are not wasting your time to get results... every second is used and you feel great afterward... I will let you know when im done the first week HAHA.. maybe my tune will be different.. but Im for sure sticking to the 90days!!
  24. I just wanted to revive this P90X thread because I am starting to do it tomorrow... and I was wondering how the program is going for people... and whether or not the extra materials that you need to buy are mandatory???
  25. Congrats on your success so far!!! I just made the 3 month mark too!! ... have you found that you can eat a little more now that your out 3 months too!? Loved seeing all of your pics!
