UHC Choice Plus- Administaff no Morbid Obeasity Services
I don't want to get your hope up. But are you sure they won't cover it? I have United Health Care Choice Plus and I just got my insurance approval today!!! Have you tried logging onto your insurance website and looking it up? I know all plans are different, but my surgeon specifically said during our seminar that United Health Care was the only insurance that he knew of that is covering gastric sleeve surgery. Sending up prayers that the information you received is not correct. Good Luck and let us know how it goes.

Frustrated....what happened to my support???
I'm sorry that your hubby isn't being supportive. But you definately have support here. My husband has never had a weight problem either. He's been very supportive in words, but in action, he's not there yet. I'm trying to get used to changing certain habits, and he's always offering me the things that I'm trying to eliminate. I don't think he is doing it to be mean, he just doesn't have a clue. He's never needed to think about what he eats or drinks. I think it's hard for someone who has never had a weight issue to truely understand. I'll still pray for you that your husband becomes more supportive, but in the meantime, I agree with the others here that say, find someone you can lean on for support and plan to make friends here. The people here will KNOW what you're going through. Best of luck.

June Surgery anyone?
I'm so excited. I just got insurance approval today!!! Waiting for them to call me to schedule pre-op tests and surgery date. Surgery should be in June!!! Woot, Woot!!

APPROVED today!!!! Woot Woot!!!
I can't believe it. I was settling in for a 30 wait for insurance approval and than, this morning, I got the email from my surgeons office that I've been approved. Woot Woot!!! I was told in the beginning that surgery is usually scheduled 4-6 weeks from date of approval. That means probably June!!! :cursing:

Jay Robb Whey Protein?
Anyone else try the Jay Robb whey Protein? I just got a sample from GNC and I think it tastes pretty good. I've just started to try some samples in the hopes of having surgery in June or July. I mixed it with milk. (I'm not sure if that's the recommendation or not for Post Op diets) You can mix it with Water, too. But I haven't tried it that way yet. There's 25 grams of protein in it and it has Slevia no calorie sweetener in it.

I need a good night's sleep !!!
2nd night on CPAP machine was only a little better. At least there were no tears or tantrums last night. But I stayed up really late to make sure I was very tired when I went to bed. I still had a hard time falling asleep. I can't help the feeling of not being able to breath. Finally fell asleep and slept for 5 hours without a problem. Need sleep tonight!!! :cursing:

Nervous. Tomorrow I tell my mother..YIKES
Sometimes mom's can surprise you. I was nervous about telling mine, but as it turns out, she is being very supportive of my decision. She, like most mom's, just wants what is best for me. She knows the struggles I've had with weight and she doesn't want to see me end up with diabetes or other weight related health issues. Good luck with telling you mom. I hope she is supportive!!!!

10 Weeks Out
I have United Health Care. The surgeon's office told me that historically they've been very good about approvals, but they usually take close to the full 30 days to respond. Oh, well - as long as I get approved. That's the important part.

Tiggers don't like CPAP machines
What an awful night. Spent from 10PM to midnight feeling like I couldn't breath on the CPAP machine. After tears of frustration, I ripped the mask off and decided that I couldn't have sleep apnea if I just didn't go to sleep. At about 3 AM I woke up still in a half sitting position with the mask in my hand. I must have been 1/2 asleep and relaxed enough, because I put it on and did fine until the alarm went of at 6:15AM. Tiggers and I hate CPAP machines !!!:cursing:

Finally posting a message
Congrats on getting your date set. I can't wait. I don't have a date set yet - waiting for insurance approval, but I needed to have a psych exam and sleep study before my surgeon would submit request to insurance. Once I get approval, I'll need to have an EKG, a pulminary exam, bloodwork, etc. before surgery. Good luck and keep us posted!!!

June Surgery anyone?
Not sure yet. Waiting for Insurance approval. They have 30 day to respond. May 29th will be the 30 day mark. Surgeon said 4 to 6 weeks after approval. That would put me at end of June to Mid July. This waiting is painful. Can't wait to be on the loser's bench !!!

Starting on CPAP tonight
Well, today I picked up my CPAP machine and I start using it tonight. I really hope that I get used to soon, because I really don't like it. I kind of makes me feel like I'm giving my lungs a workout all night. Oh well, no CPAP machine, no surgery... so I guess I'll have to comply.:cursing:

Impatiently Waiting
I can't wait to get an answer from my insurance company. My paperwork was finally submitted to the insurance company on April 29th and they have up to 30 days to respond. I hate waiting.:cursing:

Hello from Oklahoma
Hey FabBy50. I didn't even think about that when I set up my account. :tongue_smilie:I've been so involved with my kids in marching band for the last 5 years and I've used the same user name for all my online accounts. I'm probably gonna confuse alot of people with that. Oh well. Sorry. Terri

Hello from Oklahoma
I'm hoping to have the sleeve surgery. First surgery.

Is this really gonna work?
I like to thank you all as well. I'm having similar reservations about my abiity to change my habits, but reading your experiences is helping to put me at ease. I am still waiting for insurance approval, but I'm starting to get excited about the possibilities. One Question though. Pray tell, what is sliming? (Or do I really want to know?)
