  1. I think you should go through with it - for your own health and happiness. I think your friend would be happy for you, too. The guilt is a normal human response to such a horrible and heart-breaking turn of events. But, you shouldn't let the guilt stop you. I know first-hand how guilt can eat you up, but you can't let it.
  2. My surgery is scheduled August 12. My doctor doesn't require a 2 week pre-op liquid diet. I do, however, have a 7 day pre-op low carb/high protein liver-shrinking diet in case I have a fatty liver. There aren't any calorie restrictions, which is nice. I know it's not advised, but I foresee myself pigging out a little bit before my surgery :/
  3. I'm sorry to hear about your hair loss, but thank you for starting this topic. I'm getting banded on August 12, and one of my top fears is hair loss. I have very fine and thin hair, and any extra hair loss will be noticeable on me. I'm going to have to look into some these products as a preventative measure (or treatment) for hair loss. My aunt has similar hair to me, and when she had her gastric sleeve she ended up having bald spots and looked sickly- granted she's more than twice my age, but I'd hate to look even worse than I do now as a chubby girl.
  4. ...living in a lonely world. Took the midnight train going anywhere Anyway, good luck with the approval process. Welcome to the boards I'm new here too!
  5. Does he know how weight loss improves your health? The "right way" is about 5% effective. Anyway, I didn't tell many people about my upcoming LB because of the taboo attached to WLS. Some people just don't understand. Maybe your friend will come around. I know it's hard when people judge you so harshly. *hug* He might be worried about you, if he loves you like a brother. Surgery can be risky.
  6. Oh, I know. With a few exceptions, I was always the fattest person in my class when I went to college. I always felt self-conscious and watched when I went out (and still do). Congrats on the weight loss and downsizing- that's a great achievement
  7. You inspire me. 100 pounds lost is an amazing achievement. Congrats!
  8. Congrats on the downsizing! I can't wait until I start fitting into smaller clothes
  9. Good luck and congrats on your upcoming surgery. I get banded on August 12, and I am also excited and nervous. Mostly excited now, but as the surgery date gets closer I'm probably going to get more nervous! I hope things go well for the both of us
  10. Good luck with your surgery. I'm getting banded on August 12. It's the beginning of a new life
  11. Thanks for posting this! I went down the list and contacted all the people that offer free samples
  12. The sunglasses person is definitely a spammer/bot.
  13. August 12th for me! Good luck to all of you!
