Throwing Up After First Fill
There is also something it could be which is to do with the over prodcution of mucus from the oesophegas which is does as a reaction to the band being in situ, evidently drinking warm water /drink 30 mins before u eat should clear this mucus and u should be able to eat. Obviously if food is stuck and u are sliming up food and saliva then thats a different problem .. u are stuck and its not the mucus problem

Post Op Abdominoplasty, Back Lift And Brachioplasty
Mind you i havent been out on my road bike yet, ill wait for the 3 month threshold for that in case i fall off lol .. Am back for my fill on monday as i had some taken out the band for the surgery , now i need it back in as i am eating like a horse but only healthy food , so maintaining my weight but i need to lose the 9lbs of skin they took .. my legs still need doing , that wiwll be next year jury is still out on the breasts as a good bra does make them seem pretty normal, and ofc the cost is a consideration too, i want to go swimming but wont with my legs the way they are .. the rest of me i am pleased with its was never going to be a miracle lift at my age, but its a good attempt at one and am very pleased with my arms. I do not have the guts to post my before pics as they are awful and i am ashamed of them .. i might try to get the courage to do the after ones tho eventually ! Normality is only a couple of weeks away then u can start really enjoying your new image

Tooo Medicine On Empty Stomach!
You have to be NIL BY MOUTH for 8 hours prior to surgery so if its midnight u could get away with a few sips of water, it certainly wont do u any harm unless u are set for a 6 am surgery. I mean theres always a small leeway what if your clocks were wrong by 20 mins sucking on an ice cube sounds a good idea too

Appointments
Good luck with your appointment. They will discuss all you need to know when u speak to the surgeon. Every doctor is different and all insurance complanies have differing requirements so hard to answer that the next steps will be .. just write all the questions down u have in your head and then ask them when u go

Vacationing With People Who Don't Know
Yea ok i can see that might be awkward for you, but inventing illness is a little risky too, how about saying u might have a grain intolerance so u got to cut it out completely to see if that helps. Saying u might have something is sort of only a half truth/lie .. or plain just dont be hungry, i would never question anything if one of my friends toid me they werent hungry .. Car sickness maybe, or a sore throat, hurts to eat .. this isnt an easy problem

Slipped Band
Sorry to hear about the problems .. i think its why they recommend u dont get pregnant after a fiull year of banding, but sometimes it sort of suprises you .. good luck getting it fixed

Stress And Stuck.
I was warned by my doctor that stress will cause the band to tighten as they knew i had a very stressful job.

One Year Bandaversary! - Down 89.2 Since Surgery, 113 Total
Awesome weight loss, well done and keep up the good work. What i will say as someone who started off big is that your brain and eyes take months longer to catch up with the weight loss than your body does. Get the tape measure out and track measurements too , that will help but its hard to not be over critical when analysing ones self

How Often Do You Mess Up?
I think when we started on this journey a lot of us were scared to mess up and would beat ourselves up quite regulalry thinking we wont lose weight or we will fail or ruin the band, but as time goes on and the weight eventually starts falling off u become your own expert and will know what works for you and what doesnt, those blame me days finally do disappear

2Nd Fill Today And Feeling Discouraged
I agree Protein Shakes should be a suppliment to a normal healthy diet and should be used after a hardcore workout, this is when your body will make most use of the extra protein. Otherwise u are far better getting fresh protein in if u can. If u do a Protein shake for Breakfast say, it should be one that is a Meal Replacement or has other nutrients in to replace a meal like made with skimmed milk etc. They are actualaly viewed as slider food by some doctors, but if it sustains you till your next meal i dont see the harm. After all i eat Soup before my dinner and thats classed as a slider too .

Post Fill Question
I agree i cant see why u couldnt go and enjoy yourself, just be careful physically as u still are only a 5 weeks post op.. A fill shouldnt restrict u physically afterwards at all, if u are concerned discuss with your doctor

Learned My Lesson!
I think we have all done what u did and learned from it, the band we forget is there sometimes but it will wrap u on the knuckles to remind you at times like that Its good u learned from it and know not to eat like that again

Food Getting Stuck In Lapband Though I Have No Fill.
On the one hand u say that you had the fluid removed for your pregnancy then u mention the fluid 'shifted' , if there is no fluid in the band how does it shift, i am so sorry if i am misunderstanding u but i am confused. What is fluid shifting and if your band is empty how does this happen ... You also mention eating bread, most people banded cannot eat bread due to it getting stuck .. Good luck with your bypass soon and i wish you every success.

Ice Coffee?
I have tea and coffee ad lib throughout the day, but i dont drink it strong and its always made with skimmed milk .. traditionally in the UK we are tea drinkers, now i would have trouble if i was told no more tea lol

My Big Day!!
Wishing you all a speedy recovery from across the Atlantic

Complication?
Did u get some anti-biotics for your cough ? the movement of coughing alone is unlikely to cause any damage to a band as coughing is movement of your diaphram, not your stomach, if u think how much working out and doing ab crunches moves your tummy it doesnt damage the band either, it may feel like it as u are still only 2 months out post op but u should be fine, i often used to get fills have some restriction for a week or 2 then nothing, sometimes the band gets loose because we are still dropping visceral fat internally around our stomach and that will loosen the band. Hope u feel better soon ...

Turning 40 And Still Havent Reached My Goal
I agree no reason at all why u can get back on track. U need to start logging your food, and exercising. You lost a lot of weight beforehand and to stop now would be such a waste, once we start getting nearer goal we have to normally work even harder to shift those stubborn kgs .. i know i had to be even more rigid with food and exercise. I think if u struggle with enough restriction first need is to get a fill, then maybe do a food journal for a week or two and log what u are eating, sometimes this is a real eye opener. Then get an exercise regime worked out that will push you but will also be enjoyable so that u stick at it. Even if its not much to begin with regularity beats intensity when u start off again, i do exercise bike while watching tv and and my dumbells and resistance bands after, i havent let exercise interupt my life, just made it part of it. Good luck and dont give up !

Can Anyone Help Im So Bummed
7 ccs in a band your size really doesnt seem that much .. i think u should try and get another fill as soon as u can. The problem with the sleeve is that stomachs can be stretched, and often are with a bypass or sleeve and then u are back to square one with no options, with a band u have options tighter or looser or keep it the same ... There are many many people on this forum that have lost a lot more weight than the people u know, maybe u just know the wrong people With a sleeve there is nothing to stop u eating a buffet either or even a bypass, u have the same responsibility to eat reduced amounts of food whatever WLS u have so u may still have some problems with the sleeve. Give the band a few more tries with fills and eating correctly, and exercising, u never know the answer could be as simple as just another fill good luck !

Your Do Not Eat List..
I cant eat anything white and processed except dairy. So if i do want something like pasta its wholewheat same as bread, but i make my own so eat the nice crust still warm , hate rice anyways so no loss there
