  1. From everything I've determined you'll probably feel fine in about a week so I would think you'll be just fine. Other than the eating this should be way easier than your C-sections.
  2. I know and realistically I haven't gained weight. I just noticed that I was eating more than usual and things I would never think to eat?
  3. My surgery will not be until September but I feel like I've been eating things that I normally wouldn't eat because I know they will be limited soon. I know I'm not the only one who is going through this or went through this prior to surgery. I've made a definite attempt lately to knock it off, but I surely caught myself doing it.
  4. OMG shadst8? They flipped in manually?
  5. I agree that you have to speak up for yourself. You HAVE to be your own advocate and it's OKAY to have a reasonable level of expectation in care. He is working for you, not the other way around.
  6. I have my doctor's cell number, I also have his email address - he answers both within a very reasonable amount of time and never more than a couple of hours. He is a center of excellence as well and he conducts himself as such. He is only in the office I frequent 1 day a week but he has other locations that he visits that are in my area as well so if I had to see him I have a few days a week to do so. You're doc sounds unprofessional and lazy. I understamd you cant be everywhere at once but in this line of work you really have to be dedicated to your parients. I would find a different doc.
  7. I think it's fun fun fun and exciting for you both! If you're like me the first place you loose weight is in your face. It's hard for people not to notice.
  8. Good luck and I'm sure things will go great!
  9. It can be a serious problem. I like Rachel412's ideas. Try and add healthy fats to your diet through full fat dairy products and nuts, seeds etc. Also i would make sure that your blood work is current to rule out any unknow causes of the weight loss.
  10. My primary care doctor is being allowed to do my psych eval. I think it varys wildly from doctor to doctor and program to program.
  11. Fantastic!
  12. Dave I don't think I could have said it better myself. A LOT of people on here have A LOT of excuses for why it magically isn't working for them. Its because its not magic. Its work. The band is simply a tool. You have to put the work in.
  13. My surgeon does not require the liquid diet either. I will have a low carbohydrate diet the week before surgery and that's it. Your liver grows in size as it try's to process carbohydrates. When you don't eat them it shrinks. He also wants me to move to more solid food quicker than a lot of surgeons. Post-op diet is for one week and then if I'm healing just fine he want's me to start incorporating solid foods. He is a center of excellence and I'm very confident with him.

Isn’t amazing how your relationship with food and excess weight consumes you. I don’t know about anybody else but it seems that my health has become my full time job. So in essence I work two full time jobs. In other news, I have to count my blessings. When I look at some of the struggles other bander’s have had and look at the bmi’s that you’ve been able to battle back from and it’s just amazing. You’re all a tremendous inspiration on this journey and I wan t to thank you.
  15. You're always gonna feel that way at least a little bit. It happens to us all. Women, men etc. When you look in the mirror you still see and feel like that really heavy person. It makes shopping for clothes very weird. You're always trying to pick up clothes that are two sizes too big.
  16. Honestly I feel like the internet is the way to go these days. Use your common sense when you use the internet for dating though. Always meet in a public place, tell a friend where you're going and how to contact so that you're safe, but I found the love of my life on Craigslist, no joke!
  17. Just some ideas but try researchng a PCP that has a special interest in diabetes or something like that. Also you could work backwards. If there is a bariatric doctor or center of excellence near you see if there is a PCP that works at the same hospital or facility. Perhaps you could try the Michigan forum area to find people who were near you who have a pcp open to bariatric surgery. Most PCP's are not going to push a vegan lifestyle on you though so you may just want to do some Google-ing and find a different one in your area.
  18. I have to do my psych eval and I was pleasantly suprised to find that my own doctor can do this. Has anyone else been able to have the psych eval with their own doctor?
  19. Good job! I'm glad it's going so well. It does seem that Mother Nature rears her ugly head when we'd least like her too doesn't she?
  20. I've done Power 90 and it's no joke. It's hard but you can do it. Hang in there and you'll get the hang of it. The only thing I swear I never really improved on was the yoga. I hated the yoga .
  21. I'm lucky in the fact that my cycle has always been fairly regular. WIth that I mean it comes every month but sometimes it can go from 21 days to 25 daysetc . I'm just hoping for the best. Plus I absolutely did not want to bring a baby into this world with my diabetes not under control. I'm not going to wreak havoc on a tiny baby because I can't get myself under control.
  22. Is there anyone out there in there 30's and 40's who's hoping that significant weigh loss will help them have a baby. I'm 37 and diabetic. I'm not only trying to eliminate my diabetes but after some time has passed I'm hopeful to have a child as well. Late babies are nothing new in my family. My sister had her first at 38, my mom had her last at 36 and had to have her tubes tied so that she wouldn't have any more. I'm very positive about it, I'm just looking for some women in the same boat.
