  1. as the two above stated, no one can tell you what decision to make. we all have our own reasons and life. we are all different and choose different routes. let me tell you this.. diet and exercise works for everybody. what doesnt work for everybody is changing to that SEVERE lifestyle change FOREVER! i think the majority of us "sleevers" will agree to that. we can diet, diet, diet & exercise & lose the weight but once we decide to enjoy ourselves a little, JUST A LITTLE, hell breaks loose & by the time we realize, we put on all the weight and probably added a load more. my "ex boyfriend" (long story on why hes in " ") of 9yrs was 500+ lbs. fat his whole entire life & kept getting bigger & bigger. one day couldnt find a winter coat & decided he wanted to lose weight. it changed his life. now, hes a fitness director (manager to personal trainers in a gym), hes a certified trainer & is a known bodybuilder! who the hell wouldve thought? what sucks is, i was smaller when i got with him 9yrs ago but like a dummy, i picked up his eating habits so i blew up. then i lost some when he started dieting & slimmed down nicely but blew up again. so while hes all muscle with a 6 pack, im all fat with 6 stomachs! now, i have horrible eating addictions. i know i can make this lifestyle change with this tool. a sleeve is a tool. not a quick fix! just like the diet meds (i forgot the name) that u were on that were taken off the shelf. the only difference is, this tool will benefit in the future & is permanent. do lots of research. youtube is your best bet to figure out what happens, what can happen & what surgery is done how. also, google the longterm requirements & all the pros and cons. that should help you make the best decision for YOU! i will keep you in my prayers. keep us updated. you have all the support in the world from us. ps, 125lbs @ 5ft may be considered overweight but its a good size. in my dreams will a scale that i stand on say 125. last time i was 125, i was in elementary school. lol. im 5'1
  2. ohh ok! thats such a job well done. you must feel like a completely new person by now.

  6. THATS AWESOME!!!!! congrats! wow. thats great. i know you must feel and look like a completely new person!!! did you have to do a pre-op diet? im on a 6 month diet for my insurance but my primary dr told me not to lose weight so im confused or my insurance wont approve me. wouldnt they deny me if i dont lose weight?
  7. this is basically the question i have! call your dr and ask him flat out. take drastic measures to lose it if you cant. theres a herbal fasting where you just drink tea and something else & its high in Fiber. thatll make u poop a lot. youll lose about 10-20lbs just on that. let me know what happens with the dr. im supposed to be on a 6month diet but my primary dr told me not to lose weight or my insurance wouldnt approve me so im confused!
  8. i have a 6 month monitored diet but im confused on whether i should actually lose weight. my primary dr told me not to. im so confused! & the bariatric unit had told me that the insurance will look at all 6 months :/
  9. congrats! how long was your preop diet? i have to be on a 6 month diet but im so confused. my primary dr told me not to lose weight because then insurance wouldnt approve me but will they deny me if i dont lose any weight?
  10. heyyy! welcome to the site. im jaz from ny. i cant answer most of your questions because im new to this myself but i can say im in the same boat as you. last tuesday, i met with a nurse practioner & a nutritionist. my NP answered all the questions i had. my nutritionist also gave me a "diet" to start but the following day, i met with my primary dr (who is a family friend) & he told me not to lose any weight. so now im confused! he said the insurance will feel like i can do it on my own and may say to wait another 6 months and see how i do. i asked a few ppl on here.. some ppl said that their insurances go by starting bmi. when i called the bariatric unit, they told me my insurance will look at all 6 months. so now im lost! do i lose the weight? do i try very little? or do i go HARD? i lose weight quickly but i put it on even faster! thats my issue. so now im lost! :/ well, anyways, i just wanted to share my experience with you. im 1/2 way thru the process of getting all my tests done & it hasnt even been a week. i have a 6 month process as well.

  19. i am very sorry to hear about your loss. just know that jennifer is dancing with angels and watching over you & your family. she gets to probably eat all she wants and not gain a pound! lol lucky her! i hope you enjoy your trip to ny! it has been so nice lately. i have yet to visit the beach & im hating myself for it. one thing im excited about is, im should be sleeved (if all goes well) by december meaning by summer 2012, ill be new & improved!
