  1. im praying to be sleeved on dec 20th! i meet my surgeon on tuesday & my final 6th month appt is dec 1st! i dont know why your pre op diet is so long though. ive never heard of that. i actually weigh more than you.
  2. i think we have all either been there & done that or are going through it or will be going through it. trust & believe, youre not the first nor are you the last person who will feel how you do. i think people who have negative things to say about surgery are one of two things! 1. COMPLETE HATERS! dont want to see you progress. like to see others be miserable. want to feel like they are bettter than you, etc. 2. WORRIED! sometimes people who genuinely love you and care for you will worry & will say anything to change your mind. not because they dont want to see you happy but because they have heard HORROR stories. WE ALL KNOW that WLS has a bad name but you know what they say, "DONT JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER!" people who say negative things are just ignorant/uneducated when it comes to WLS. the reason we choose WLS because we chose to educate ourselves on it. we became curious for our own personal reasons & we began researching! yes, some people fail but those who fail choose to fail. those who gain their weight back, choose to do so. as sleevers or future sleevers, we always read that "our sleeve is a tool... not a magic fix!" it takes hard work & dedication. the only thing the sleeve does is give us restriction. it helps those who eat thanksgiving dinner for every meal! we still need to diet & exercise! so when you do come across the 2 types of people listed above, tell them that you know what youre doing. you did your research & youre happy & content with your decision. tell them that this isnt a downgrade in life. this is an upgrade! its the difference between renting an apartment & buying a house! im sorry for making this so long. i just remember my reaction when someone recommended WLS to me. lol. she had it & was standing in front of me looking slim & i wanted to slap her! i was highly offended. after seeing her 2 more times, i began asking her about it more & more & i jumped on it quick! that lady saved my life!
  3. congrats!!! how long did it take for your insurance to approve?
  4. i am meeting my surgeon in 7days! ive been going through this since july so im verrrrry excited. i too feel theres a light at the end of the tunnel. my final nutritionist appt is dec 1st & then it will all be finalized & done! im praying to be sleeved on dec 19th or 20th.
  5. aww thank u! im going tomorrow to get my blood work completed because the thyroid level was off before but ive been taking meds so all should be fine! im also going to go and submit my pcp letter while im getting my blood work done. i cant believe im RIGHT there. its so surreal lol
  6. congrats! you dont sound conceited! you sound NORMAL!
  7. im so glad youve joined us and glad you finally posted your story! i was waiting to see if i would see you on here! sleevers, alex is one of the nicest guys you will meet and you will see it through his posts and youtube vlog! meeting him in person was a pleasure & him & i happen to be seeing the same team of doctors at the same hospital. hes the go to guy!
  8. thank you!!! im taking it one day at a time. i know before i know it, the day will be here! its been a long 6 months but at the same time, it passed quickly! im keeping myself busy. i know once i meet my surgeon (9 days), itll be a fast rollercoaster from there! i know itll feel like i went from walking through my day to driving through my day. itll all be so quick. im just praying for a speedy approval from my insurance company!
  9. you guys make me wish for my surgery even more!! im hopefully getting sleeved on dec 19th or 20th! i meet my surgeon on the 29th
  10. very well put! im praying to be sleeved on dec 19th or 20th so my wishes for 2012 is to be off my meds, lose enough weight to feel good in my skin, & fix all the issues that my weight has created!

  14. i went ahead to get a second pcp letter with my weight included (which wasnt there before) & im getting copies of my dr notes within the last 3yrs since i had a different pcp for a while there. i donr want my insurance to have any excuse to deny me!
  15. its ok!! im not blind but on my iphone, i just cant make out the words to save my life. the letters are too narrow & close together & then the light color too, YIKES!!!!! id be here all day. lol. im 23, you would think my font would be like that too. lol.
  16. WELCOME!!!! <3 i am currently in my 5th month of my 6 month required supervised diet. im praying to be sleeved on dec 19th or 20th! youre definitely in the right place. as far as pain goes, DONT WORRY!!!! its like having a baby, you know its going to hurt but you want it so bad that pain shouldnt be an issue! i never had kids but i have tattoos that hurt like hell & i have gotten 2 brazilian waxes! i also have had my gall bladder removed which i hear is just as painful. all im saying is, i want this so bad that as long as i wake up & have no complications, BRING ON THE PAIN (with some morphine plz!! lmao). i hope this put you at ease.
  17. thanks love! i really appreciate it
  18. very hard but worth it im scared out of my mind cant wait to be sleeved one day at a time
  19. does ur insurance have a supervised diet? some insurances dont. some have 3months. others have 6months. mine was 6months.
  20. hey! im sorry my response has nothing to do with your thread but i have to say it... i love reading & responding to every post! especially ones with headlines like this! but, when the font is in fancy writing like urs & light colors, i literally cant make out the words. the print is so thin that its hard for me to read. anytime i open a post & its not in standard text, i just close it and move on. not telling you to change it because of me... just saying that some of us blind bats may not reply because we cant read what it says! but good luck on your surgery! <3
