my first soft meal that i want is mashed potatos!

really? im scared to taste test! too much money!

ive tried several Protein drinks in the past. my last one i tried is Isopure already made. i took 1 sip & had amazing gas pains & became nauseous! i threw up earlier because of an antibiotic pill i was prescribed (i always get sick from them). so.. what do i do? i havent had any protein & i dont want to become malnurished. i have powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury but have yet to taste it. i will after my tummy settles... did anyone go through their liquid stage with no protein? what are your favorite shakes? what are the worst shakes?

i am on pain meds that do work but it does ease off after awhile.

thanks! i got home yesterday! i was having trouble wiping especially because the top of my hand is bruised & it grazes the toilet when pulling my hand out. :/ the pain after throwing up is crazy!! im laying in bed, hurting. i cant wait til after the pain is gone or atleast almost gone! sheesh!

my only issue on my first day home was coughing up phlegm. today it was throwing up from the antibiotics which caused a lot of pain. i had been having some pain from one of my incisions that was irritated which is why i was put on antibiotics. i guess we will see!

yeah... it was on the right side of my mouth both top & bottom lip was busted on the inside. my roommate too! but a friend who was also there for the sleeve didnt get her lip busted. it wasnt nothing major or an issue. it didnt hurt & wasnt noticable but it was some what swollen.

im having a lot of pain today. i threw up after taking an antibiotic prescribed by my surgeon & that pain is nooooo F!%^*KING joke! how long was it before you felt some what recovered? like you could bend over with no pain.

i was sleeved on tuesday dec 20th. i had a sore throat & mouth was soooooo dry! now that im drinking Water, im ok. i had a lil nausea with my 1st time drinking liquids. the leak test was HORRIBLE! they asked me to drink more... i REFUSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! im convinced that its rat poison! it was gross and the worse part. i was belching like crazy was good because gas was coming up! i didnt baby myself & i pushed hard to do what needed to be done.

my experience was good. no gas pains, no crazy pains. just a little incision pain, and one incision is irritated & it hurts when i cough up ohlegm but other than that, im good!

i talked to him today before getting discharged.

so i was sleeved on dec 20th. yay! i am doing ok.. BUT.... one of my incisions are red and irritated. it was red & irritated in the hospital & i was put on antibiotics. the redness went away before being discharged but after getting out of bed on my own 2x, its redder than before! i will start on the antibiotics again tomorrow! also, im coughing up phlegm. i do the respiratory breathing but i cough up phlegm without it. is that normal? it was only green one time. the other 4-5 were white. and i noticed that when i take my pain meds, my knees get a numbing sensation. is it just me? lol

omg! our stories are identical but no vomitting. i was sleeved on the 20th. i dont have a problem getting in fluids. everything was ok til i got home & got out of bed alone. my lower stomach incision was red & irritated. it went away before being discharged. now its redder! i have antibiotics that i will start tomorrow.

hey guys!!!! so here are the details so far of day 1. grab some Water & get ready. (not popcorn lol). ok so, surgery was set for 8am today. i had to be here at 6am. i was like 4 minutes late so the desk lady was calling me! geez im on the elevator! lol. anyway, she takes me into this room & gives me a bag, a robe & a pair of socks & tells me to get undressed & change. i do so. she comes back & tells me to lay down in bed. she starts asking mequestions about medical history & stuff like that. then she started me on IVs and had me laying there. she also gave me a bloood thinner shot in my tummy. i thought it would hurt but didnt. then she had me sign a paper stating that im giving consent for my surgeon to do laproscopic gastrectomy sleeve, "possible open gastrectomy sleeve." i protested. i told them no open surgery! so i was told to speak to my surgeon. cool. shortly after, a guy named lou cane and got me. he wheeled me to the elevator where my mom came. once off the elevator, we walked a little until we stopped and my mom couldnt go any farther so she kissed me goodbye! after that is when i got really nervous. lou kept asking me how i feel & kept telling him REALLYYY nervous. then he stopped in the hall way where i closed my eyes & kept praying. a few nurses introduced themselves & put a shower lookin cap on me. my anesthesiologist came to me & asked questions and i mentioned that my acid reflux was acting up. he gave me some meds to drink that helped it! finally my surgeon came and i told him about the possibly open & he explained that in case of emergency i might needa be opened up, so ok cool. they wheeled me back & got me prepped. i asked for the time & they said 8:05 so im assuming i was knocked out by 8:10. i woke up in recoverry and was groaning. they kept telling me i did great. they left me in recovery til like 3pm because the previous patient that was in my room refused to leave. finally, they told me i was going i was on my way to my room and mommy was already there waiting for me. so i get there & im exhausted & couldnt keep my eyes open. the right side of my upper & bottom lip were busted. my mouth is sooooo dry! they gave me these sponge thingies to wet my mouth. they are LIFE SAVERS! i been burping. i have very little pain. they removed the catheter. my throat is sore. im waiting for them to take me to my leak test so that i can start sippin!!!

my surgery is scheduled for tomorrow & i just saw that my pcp put on my medical clearance that im having the lap gastric banding! IM PRAYING THIS DOESNT MESS UP MY SURGERY TOMORROW!!!! HE LEFT TO INDIA TODAY AND WILL BE GONE FOR A MONTH!!! im starting to freak out!

thanks everyone for all the support, its greatly appreciated. im feeling very weird today. i should be excited about surgery tomorrow or maybe even nervous but im not, im mad! i just hate feeling nauseous because of this diet & i hate that i let myself go so bad & i hate that i have to do something so drastic to help me with my food addiction. i wish i wouldve been strong enough to do this on my own but i know im not & i know i never will be! i have to say, im grateful & thankful to GOD for giving me the opportunity to have this surgery because i know that there are other people who wish they were in my shoes right now & i feel bad that i feel the way i feel but its honest. theres also other personal things going on in my life that i wish were better. my recent ex of 9.5 yrs wont be there making me feel loved & although hes so poisoness, part of me wishes he wasnt so i could have my old bestfriend back. hes all i know. he texted me today wishing me good luck & i really just wanted to curse him out but instead i just never responded! anyway, im an emotional wreck right now & im getting off topic. i guess this is natural. so tomorrow is my surgery. im going to pull up my big girl panties (literally) & man up & do what needs to be done!!!!

i had a dream last night that i kept forgetting things to take to the hospital& i was super late to the hospital to have surgery!!! lol. less than 24hrs til i get sleeved!

my surgery is scheduled for 8am! ahhhhhh! lol
