  1. AmberDawn nice to see you and all my fellow december sleevers again love to see this thread re-opened at times my, my - don't we all look great!!!! Amber you are doing wonderful your exercise program is very impressive i'm "alittle" ashamed to admit that exercise was never one of my big qualities its hard to know/imagine what people look like at 50, 75 et al weight loss well, i know what 103 lbs looks like now when i tell people from out of town, "you"/they just can't imagine!!!! look at my profile if you like, thats what 105 lbs look like!!!!! its ok to "brag" a bit, right??? we all deserve too after all our hard work we've done, and will continue for the rest of our healthier, happier, longer life keep up the good work luck on your continued success kathy congrats
  2. Anna079 one bite, teeny, teeny bite is ok - THIS time raise your right hand and say you will never do this again, and you won't have 3 slices of pizza tomorrow (or the next day either ) sleeve joke - you'll understand one day i have heard that a side effect of the sleeve sometimes is memory loss (forgot about not being able to eat mac & cheese) the memory loss problem might be true ......but i don't remember take care bud good luck kathy
  3. RIP Started by Aries, Yesterday, 8:16 PM you did a "gotcha" to me!!!! i saw the title of your thread - and i said "oh no....." did you put flowers in the area of your old tummy/rolls?? 82 lbs down too!!! you are aces!!! kathy congrats
  4. determinedsleever70 71 lbs down!!!! (some of that maybe pre-op??) terrific job i cringed when i read what you doc said "about his job being done" i get what he said - but i don't think that he was right/nice about what he said he knew you were having problems, he should have guided you better with a little info - or tell you where you could go you weren't required to see a NUT ................ will insurance cover one?? if ins doen't cover, can you afford to go at least once ???? NUT would give you paperwork/pamphlets with LOTS of info, answers to your questions this info would be very helpful/nescessary - Vitamins, Protein, Water et al sounds like you should be eating more at almost 3 months PO - if the shakes make you sick - don't even try them anymore you should be getting protein from your food greek yogurt, cottage cheese, egg chicken, fish, meats can't improve on all the good suggestions given "above" by TwinsMama/cindymg et al chew thoroughly, stop eating - then try again very slowly, small bites you must eat!!!! glad you are losing weight, but you must try and keep your strength up per your smart fiance (he chose to marry you, right!!! ) you are probably dehydrated  you say you are drinking "lots" of water 64 oz at least??? it would be great if you could meet with a NUT and maybe find a support group (surgeons office should help you with that) take care bud feel better good luck kathy congrats on your weight loss
  5. stacychase wow - looks like you are have WLS one week from today - August 19th!!!! you are probably filled with excitement, and maybe a few nerves too another good book............ Weight Loss Surgery for Dummies!!!! good luck with surgery speedy recovery kathy
  6. Travis Welcome to the neighborhood always great to see a new smiling face your enthusiasm is great being active now - thats wonderful!!!! things will only get better!!! read the board, you'll get alot of good info that will help you pre-op, and then post op ask your questions too!!! good for doc on being able to keep up with the questions i am a mother and i have an 83 year old mom too - so i get it about all THOSE questions watching the calendar - waiting for September 13th, is like waiting for a pot of Water to boil but, both do happen!!!! glad you are nipping your weight problem in the bud - before you "might"/do get health issues I think you've already started your new life by looking into the sleeve, and proceeding with having the surgery but.....officially - your new life will start on 8/13/13 - a day you will always remember good luck speedy recovery kathy
  7. k8ee sorry you've been in a 6 week stall venting is good - gets it out of your system for the minute I agree with Sydney Susan that getting more sleep sure couldn't hurt!!! you'll probably feel better in the morninh it must be hard when you don't have anyone "in person" you can talk/vent to about your situation but..........."we're" here looks like you are following all the rules, waiting up to an hour after you eat before you drink again - drinking plenty of Water, getting in proper calories and exercise too!!!! you are doing great!!!! this stall will break!!!! it has too telling you to "just hang in there", well its true - but........easier said than done!! People have said something like shake up things a bit "maybe" increase your calories IMO by the time you do that - and maybe it will be successful - the stall might have run its course anyways wish i knew how far out you are, how much weight you've lost from a profile, ticker hint, hint this info helps OP give suggestion/help besides "we're nosey" I know things will work out!!!! I feel it in my bones!!!! good luck kathy God Grant Me Patience Just Hurry Up about It
  8. newmeby50 sorry you are having problems/weak et al many people find it more "comfortable"/easier to drink liquids at room temperature this early in the game easier on tummy thats the extent of my words of wisdom for now good luck feel better kathy
  9. NMJG welcome to the wonderful world of the "sleeved" follow all the rules (water, portions, et al) you will have ups and downs, but.................... enjoy your voyage looking forward to your new healthier, happier, longer life WooHoo speedy recovery good luck!!!! Kathy
  10. Debra i see you just joined welcome to our little community!!!!! waiting about 5 months til WLS????? ahhhhhhhhhhhh - good things do come to those who "weight"!!!! you'll find lotttttts of good info on the boards there is a search button top right hand area - always good to use check out a couple of good books WLS for Dummies also theres a good book you can order from "here" too with great reading prepping you for WLS probably as time for WLS gets closer - you might practice eating in moderations, drinking alot, plus much more good luck kathy
  11. too easy???? i've had many operations - so the WLS itself, didn't concern/scare me i wasn't too concerned about eating and drinking properly post op things did go well with all (no sickness, vomitting, gas et al) my concern from the beginning was always......... "how the heck am I gonna be successful and not only lose the weight, but keep the weight off forever and a day For me, once i reached goal 10 months ago - thats when the hard work starts................... and my new wonderful life continues!!!!! gotta keep following all those "sleeve rules" (Water, eating, portions et al)for the rest of my life - so i can keep my "girlish" figure!!!!! don't look for trouble!!!! glad things are going so well for you kathy
  12. jssybravo you are doing terrific!!!!! keep up the good work!!!!! glad you are lovin' your sleeve kathy congrats
  13. NikkiB it must be emotionally draining with your uncles health situation some/many (me too) NEWBIES think they can stretch their tummy 99.999999% of "us" know thats not gonna happen per NUT/surgeon you don't know how long you will be at your uncles - eat the best you can i see you are on solids, but might?? be hard to cook in a strange area??? buy yogurt, cottage cheese, Protein shakes - easy stuff like that baby bel cheese - some fruit whatever works for you at this time once you are home, you can go back to complete basics if you fear you overdid good luck kathy
  14. miangr per your profile - i see you were sleeved June18th your starting weight was 312 you have successfully lost 41 lbs!!!! bringing you to the magic # of 271!!!!! WooHoo WooHoo!!!! party dance party dance Protein bars are yummy, they can have alot of calories, and carbs too on an occassion, having one is terrifice - terrific taste some/many (me) OP try and stay away from Protein Bars cuz they are so good, (kindof like candy bar?? )very addicting some people do adjust their calories when a stall hits - to shake things up a bit "assuming" I need to increase................. hmmmmm - i "assume" LOL you know what happens when you "assume" something??? You make an assssss out of you and me you are only 7 weeks PO discuss with your NUT your situation/concerns she is the only one that OFFICIALLY should direct you to your calorie intake many/most times - you just have to "ride" out a stall some people might change this or that about their daily routine, and the stall breaks but whose to say if these changes helped break the stall or the stall was gonna break on its own coincidentally the same time changes were made???? you are doing great with your weight loss 41 lbs!!!! OMG!!!! keep up the good work kathy congrats
  15. DMA2013 DMA - remember me??? we already talked above - so i'm hijacking for a minute ok Hoder, as GypsyQueen correctly said NSV is a non-scale victory ie not needing a seat belt extender on the airplane for the 1rst time buying an article of clothing in a smaller size ok - back to our regularly scheduled program............ kathy

Canary Diamond at 4 weeks - can't go toooo crazy with a dinner meal, buttttt you mentioned veal i love my crockpot veal stew w/green Beans, carrots, mushrooms!!!! small can of healthy choice mushroom Soup (i know alot of sodium ) "recipe" can't be much easier down 30 lbs??? party dance party dance happy b'day bud hijacking about "me" for a minute from the age of 16 - 26, my mom would put one candle on a WW cupcake for my b'day it was awful - she never realized how sad and upsetting it was for me - because i never told her kleenex anyone?? back to my "normal" happy self 20 months PO - down 105 lbs GOAL no more cupcakes!!!! enjoying a very healthy, happy life life IS good kathy
  21. hopingtolose2013 "conditioned our brains for failure" as said by ShrinkingMom, unfortunately is a great/true comment you shouldn't fail with your weight loss as long as you follow ALL the sleeve rules to me, Water rules are the most important stop drinking 15-30 minutes before you will eat NEVER, EVER, EVER drink with your meals (people have been shot for less ) do not drink for 45-60 minutes after you eat drink as much H20 as you can (at least 64 oz) chew your food thoroughly eat veryyyy slowly helps if you put your utensil down after each bite eat Protein first measure your food 85% of your tummy is now gone!!!! the sleeve will help you/assist you to be successful BUT........you must work very very hard too!!!! work with the sleeve and the sleeve will work with you as far as gaining a couple of lbs here or there, there is always water gain that should/will come off measure yourself frequently - if you are not losing weight, its very possible/probable that you have lost inches "see" how your clothes feel/fit everyone/most/all of us go through stalls, some stalls can last a few days but i've seen them last much longer too (as in months ) don't frown and worry too much - you'll get wrinkles along with some "possible" lose skin!!! stay focused, positive and excited i know you can do this once you reach goal - remember.....your new eating/drinking habits are something you must keep forever and a day thats the MUST DO plan so you remain at your goal weight!!!!! and continue to live a healthier, happier, longer life 28 lbs gone!!!! OMG!!! keep up the good work good luck kathy congrats
  22. tmbasuhre a picture is worth a 1,000 words You look lovely in all your pictures at 170 lbs you are glowing with happiness keep up the terrific job/work kathy congrats

  25. my direct, simple answer no - i wouldn't date someone who was inactive, little heavy et al its sad that I admit this since we were always fighting the prejudice against heavy people that we received being new to maintenace - still being extra careful, sometime walking on eggshells............ i need to continue to be careful for the rest of my life but thats ok - i never want to become the old kathy again i wouldn't/couldn't want to be around any possible temptation FYI - DH and i were both heavy when we wed 22 years ago he doesn't have any desire to lose weight i do have to deal with some temptation - but he respects the fact i don't want any "bad" food around the house - chips, "oreos" for Laura good luck kathy
