Success after 5 years?
@@kimpatcan yes!!!! gaining a little weight back??? sure you can 12/2011 i had my surgery - lost 105 lbs (GOAL) now 2+ years post op i fluctuate3-5 lbs over goal some people have gained more but..............many more continue to do great, and don't gain you must always stay on your toes the sleeve is not a magic pill you must always be diligent with your eating for the rest of your healthier, happier, longer life that being said...........if you gain some weight, going back to basics working hard again, getting back on track you "should" be able to lose the weight ou work with the sleeve - and the sleeve will work for you sounds like you are pre-op i understand you being curious about possible regain but you haven't even had surgery yet work hard with the rules et al post surgery if you "want/must" think about possible gain at some time use that thought as a reminder/motavator that you must stay true to yourself and your new life by eating correctly good luck kathy

Thinking of Quitting- I'm overwhelmed
confused, sad, alone and just friggin disappointed. @@hopeful2loose2014 some/many people have problems with pre-op diet/shakes et al i think/know people feel overwhelmed at times cheating alittle too?? Knock it off!!! couple of reasons doc wants people to lose weight pre-op its easier for them to perform surgery, around our fatty liver they also want you to prove that you can proceed, follow rules et al some/many/me hate those nasty shakes but their important there are prepared liquid shakes that don't taste too bad i think Premier is one of them??? you are still 10 days pre-op..........keep working on eating properly, not as much food too but keep plugging away many of us are overwhelmed at first - and maybe for a while post op too keep reading the many informative posts you've been a member here for just over a month read, read, and read past posts go to utube and watch some videos you'll see many encouraging people - before and after pics this should help motivate you i can see the determination in your eyes you can do this, but you DO have to work at it some people think that the sleeve is a magic pill its not!!!! the sleeve works with you if/when you work with it this is hard, and you have to keep up with your proper eating for the rest of your healthier, happier, longer life but.......on the plus (this is a big one) you will be so much healthier, feel & look better too i no longer take diabetic meds/insulin - no high blood pressure, no CPAP my big unexpected reward is/was having my epilepsy medication/dosage cut in half!!!!! you can/will be successful you made the wise decision to have the sleeve - don't second guess yourself now be excited/prepared for a gigantic, wonderful change in your life no more cheating ok (even if its healthy stuff) keep telling yourself you can do this if you hopefully you can succeed.... i wouldn't cancel talk to your doc if you are comfortable hope i didn't lecture too much, but i care, and i know you want to lose your weight for many reasons get ready for the 23rd good luck speedy, good recovery kathy

curb/fall/NSV?
@@MichiganChic yes, yes and yes to your above statements being overweight does contribute to many incidents/slips falls my mom ALWAYS "reminded" me of stuff like that anything that happens to you that is bad is because i was overweight probably if i got a splinter she would say its because............... fitting into chairs/booths/hospital gowns was/could frequently be a challange one NSV over a year ago.......... i remember sitting down to sit in the movie theater, and i went woa!!!! there was soooo much room on each side!!!! i said to my sister, they must be making these seats bigger now other time, same situation.... i was walking in the airplane aisle towards my seat, and i realized they also must have made the aisles wider then finally when i sat in the airplane seat - holy moly, there was so much room on each side of me!! like we all know - its the little things don't worry about me and Kohl's - we're attached at the hip you've lost 142 lbs!!!!! that is so amazing!!!! its wonderful how different you/me/we feel after losing weight keep up the great job (i know you will!!!) waiting for you to cross the goal/finish line i'll see you there kathy

(old variation of common silly doc joke) like will i be able to play the violin, and doc says yes, etc. etc cool, i never could play before!!! oh well, i accidentally took an extra silly pill this morning kathy

curb/fall/NSV?
last week i fell at the curb leaving Kohl's i reallllly hurt luckily my ankle moved 'in"/twisted a bit, but all will well!!!! i am hurt and sore all over though so whats my NSV ???? unfortunately i have fallen before in similar situations it always took 2 people - with allll their strength to pull me up its hard to lift 235 lbs of dead weight now it only took 1 person to pull me up guess 130 lbs is much easier to "tug" at hubby came "running" from the parking lot toward me after i was already up after all was said and done, and i we were driving home my DH jokingly said something like "see what happens when you do soooo much shopping at Kohl's?" ********************************************************************* dr wanted me to get x-rays "just in case"........... i remember when i had WLS, and they handed me my gown...........i prayed it was big enough to cover all me what was i thinking??? they ONLY had big sized, cuz of course us big girls were having weight loss surgery this time iwent into the changing room, they had a regular sized gown that "normal" people wear could have been a model showing off how great i looked No NSV is too small all/any new experience is great my good life continues to get better and better At times i do on purpose remember sad things from my past that way i'm reminded how wonderful life is now one happy camper!!!! kathy
