Disappointed in surgeon's office's reaction to VSG internet forums
@@Scylla I think i saw your nurse in the movie "One Flew Over the Cukoos Nest"!!! i talked to my NUT and family dr and they both thought the boards are a great place to visit this board is very helpful listening to stories/tales about other sleevers experiences pre and post op situations IS great certain questions regarding coffee/caffein/drinking from a straw/soda......... people will answer questions by telling what THEIR nut told them and pass that info along but its usually pointed out to newbies like you that you should always listen to your surgeon or NUT or nurse (even if THEY are alittle NUTS!!) sometimes you need to go to your doc about medical issues that we're not that knowledgable about (again except me!!! ) we are here to give each other support/advice/info we all LOVE to talk about our bowel movements/or lack of -head hunger, stallls, sex....many other good stuff!!! you'll hear the great things that happens to "us" as we succeed through our voyage NSV's like being able to fit into smaller clothes, crossing your legs, going on an amusement park ride i can tell you are a smart "cookie" because you decided to change your life by having the sleeve good luck with pending surgery kathy

so much for starting to feel better...
@@Lamonica2013 you ARE doing good/great!!!! don't let the doc convince you that you aren't "maybe" your doc was trying to "encourage"??? you to work harder............ but i don't think thats the way to do it!!!! if he says any more discouraging words - he's gonna have to deal with ME you've lost 33 lbs pre-op ,28 lbs post op - 61 lbs weight loss total "they" say averaging 10 lbs per month is good you've lost 28 lbs in 2 months - thats terrific!!!! stalls are a bummer, but you/me/most of us will/do have them at one time or another glad your stall is over keep up the good work, (I know you will ) kathy congrats

Better slow than no
@@Roo101769 great expression and attitude "the one thing we all have in common is that we're all different " "Never, ever, ever compare yourself to others" (weight loss, time period et al) people have been shot for less!!!! that being said............easier said than done (in not comparing to others ) i can only imagine your frustration that your weight isn't dropping as quickly as your male friend but like OP have mentioned - guys lose faster than women (NOT FAIR ) even though chasing after a 5 year old is exercise too (mental and physical ) you also mentioned you messed up a "little", and don't exercise like him, or log if you can improve on any of the above that would be helpful/great losing 33 lbs pre-op shows your committment to your weight loss now losing another 51 lbs post op isn't exactly shabby you "might" be a slow loser, but i think you are a quick winner keep up the good job (I know you will ) kathy congrats

32 pounds in the 10 weeks post surgery while my friend lost 50 in 8...
@@KittyChick first off bud, heres some kleenex dry your eyes, you look like helllll you've broken 1 of the commandments in sleeveland thou shall NEVER compare onself to another (weight loss, recovery period, et al) "they" say - the only thing we have in common is that we're all different!!!!! "they" saying that losing 10 lbs in a month is average/great!!!! so in 2 .5 months you should have lost 25 lbs but...........you lost 32!!!!! woo hoo don't worry about what your friend has lost (you can be happy for her though) concentrate on yourself not sure about eating 1,500 calories at 10 weeks sorry you had a rough recovery glad you are keeping track of your food and exercising since you didn't say otherwise, sounds like even though recovery wasn't great - you are/have been doing well now you have lost 32 lbs - this surgery is worth it!!! just worry/concentrate on yourself thats who you got the surgery for!!!! work hard!!! follow program drink as much as you can alllll day never drink with your meals stop drinking about 15 minutes before you eat don't drink for about 45-60 minutes after you eat chew thoroughly a million times over small bites, put utensil down between bites eat slllllowly new rule for you only!!!! after each bite........... stand up and say "I will succeed" while you are turning in circles 10 times and patting your tummy while you are chewing" LOL if you don't get tooooo dizzy - you can do anything!!!! if you do get too dizzy - you still can do anything keep up the good job for the rest of your healthier, happier, longer life kathy congrats

Changed my goal weight...now I only have 13 lbs to go...good idea or bad idea?
@@marfar7 been seeing "less and less of you" you are getting so much smaller i better not blink I don't think you are throwing the towel in/giving up i think people sometimes set their goals too low -(or high, whichever way you want to look at it ) weight goal might be unrealistic stalled for months, maybe your body is trying to tell you something like "give me a break, i like this weight" or "i'm happy, why aren't you?? mentally, saying you want/need to lose 13 more lbs to goal - might/does sound "easier" to get to who knows, taking the pressure off yourself, you might end up losing more weight too,.....later!!!! 23.3 BMI would/will be great but.............i bet you are looking terrific now too!!!! whatever works for you is the best/right answer i get it about dwelling on that # but we all should/and do know that all that matters is how you feel, and i'm sure you do look amazing too!!!! you've lost 95 lbs bud!!!!! too cool!!! thats terrific fingers and toes crossed to help you break your stupid stall keep up the good job for the rest of your healthier, happier, longer life kathy congrats
